The vocal tract shapes were measured from tracheoesophageal speakers during the sustained phonation of five Korean vowels /u/, /o/, /a/, /e/, /i/ using magnetic resonance image(MRI). The subject's original vowel utterances with speech intelligibility and the synthesized vowels from MR images were analyzed. The results were as follows: (1) The vowels /a/, /e/, /i/ were perceived as the same sounds of actual subject's speech, but the vowels /o/ and /u/ were perceived as /$\partial$/ and strained /u/, respectively. (2) The synthesized vowels /a/ and /e/ from the MR images were perceived as the same sounds, but the vowels /u/, /o/, /i/ were perceived as different sounds. (3) The synthesized vowel by the expanded pharyngeal segment of 3 times in vowel /o/ was perceived as more natural than that of 2 times. The pharyngeal areas with varied sizes should be experimented to secure better speech production because the correct shapes of the vocal tract lead to distinct vowel production.

Several propellants were investigated experimentally for ignition characteristics in subatmospheric pressure. The threshold ignition pressure was 4 psia for HTPB/AP composite propellant. The partial replacement of AP in HTPB/AP propellant by $5{\sim}l5%$ of HMX, HNIW showed that the improvements in ignition delay was over 50% and the threshold pressure was below 0.4 psia. This appears to be due to the characteristics of HMX and HNIW exothermic dissociated at the temperature(${\sim}220^{\circ}C$) love. than that of AP. The ignition substance $B/KNO_3$ was coated thinly on the propellant surface for better ignition performance. As a result, ignition delay time of 15% was improved. NC is applied to $B/KNO_3$ ignition substance as a secondary binder and $NC-B/KNO_3$ suspension solution is coated to the propellant surface.
An intact male, 3-year old, Sapsari, weighing 29 kg with a history of respiratory distress, anorexia, abdominal distension, and depression for 1 day was referred. Radiographic findings included a C-shaped soft tissue mass in the mid-abdominal cavity and loss of serosal detail. Ultrasonographs showed splenomegaly with hypoechoic coarse parenchyma, loss of venous flow in the dilated splenic veins, and thrombi. Based on image findings, acute isolated splenic torsion was diagnosed. Splenectomy and prophylactic gastropexy was performed. Another case was a spayed female, 8-year old, Shih-tzu, weighing 3.7 kg with a history of intermittent abdominal pain and a palpable abdominal mass for 1 year. Radiographic findings showed splenomegaly characterized by a soft tissue round mass. Ultrasonographs revealed displaced splenic hilum and absence of venous flow in the dilated splenic vein. Chronic isolated splenic torsion was diagnosed and also splenectomy and gastropexy was performed. Two dogs were recovered normally after surgery without any complications. Acute form of isolated splenic torsion showed acute systemic clinical signs, severe C-shaped splenomegaly on radiographs, and loss of all of splenic venous flow, perivenous hyperechoic triangle sign, and thrombi on ultrasonographs. Chronic form of isolated splenic torsion showed chronic obscure clinical signs, moderate splenomegaly on radiographs, and partial loss of splenic venous flow on ultrasonographs.
Contrary to predictions, the market diffusion of smartwatch is proceeding slowly. Smartwatch companies should pursue new strategies to overcome this so-called chasm; however, little is known about smartwatch attributes valuable for target consumers. This study investigates beneficial and sacrificial features influencing overall perceived value of smartwatch, which in turn affects usage intention, and considers moderating effect of personal innovativeness. A total of 323 usable data were analysed using partial least squares. The results show that two benefits (utilitarian and hedonic) and three sacrifices (usability, performance, and finance) significantly impact on usage intention via perceived value. A significant effect of personal innovativeness as a moderator is also observed. Interestingly, the influence of social benefits on perceived value is not supported, which means strengthening image improvement strategies might not be appropriate for the diffusion. In order to overcome the chasm, suitable strategies should be used, and focusing on consumers who are highly innovative are strongly recommended.

In this paper, aerodynamic effects on the flow field under the wing with varying aspect ratio were investigated by measuring pressures on the lower surface of wing and analysing velocity components using Particle Image Velocimetry at Reynolds numbers of $1.384{\times}10^5$ and $2.306{\times}10^5$. In case of aspect ratio 4.8 which keeps the wing tip at a distance of 80% chord length from the pylon, the vortex from the wing tip influenced the flow field under the wing by reducing static pressures on the lower surface and increasing the velocity in proximity of the wing tip. Throughout the results, it is observed that aerodynamic effects of wing tip on the flow field around pylon under wing become insignificant as the aspect ratio increases.
Aneurysm embolisation method using coils have been widely used. Micro coils are introduced via a small catheter, and are packed inside of aneurysm sac, which induces intraaneurysmal flow stagnation and thrombus formation. When partial blocking of an aneurysm is inevitable, the location of coils is important since it changes the flow patterns inside the aneurysm, which affect the embolisation process. We measured the flow field inside the partially blocked lateral aneurysm models in vitro, and tried to suggest the effective locations of coils for aneurysm embolisation. Velocity fields are measured using a particle image velocitimeter for different coil locations- proximal neck, distal neck, proximal dome and distal dome. Flow into the aneurysm sac was significantly reduced in the distally blocked models, and coils at distal neck blocked inflow more effectively comparing to those at distal dome. This study suggests that distal neck should be the most effective location for aneurysm embolisation.
Screw-shaped implants of commercially pure (c.p.) titanium, c.p. niobium, c.p. zirconium, and stainless steel(Sus 304) were inserted in the rabbit tibial bone over 12 weeks of follow-up. New developed torque gauge instrument was used to evaluate the implant holding power and a image analysis program coupled to a microscope was used for histomorphometry. The three best consecutive threads of each implant were measured. Quantitative analyses at 12 weeks revealed a partial bone contact to the four kinds investigated metals. There were no obvious adverse tissue reactions to any of the biomaterials. At 12 weeks the average removal torques for titanium, niobium and zirconium were better than that needed for Sus 304 screws, on the other hand high score of bony contact ratio of titanium and niobium were showed in comparison to those of zirconium and Sus 304. There was no significant differences in the amount of interfacial bone of zirconium and Sus 304 whereas there was significant difference in the torque forces of niobium and Sus 304. Three months after implant insertion, the average removal torque was 6.64 Ncm for the titanium, 6.57 Ncm for the niobium, 6.38 Ncm for the zirconium, and 4.25 Ncm for the Sus 304. On average bone contacts there were 51.24% in the titanium, 48.19% in the niobium, 31.79% in the zirconium, 23.54% in the Sus 304. Biocompatibility of the titanium, niobium and zirconium was acceptable level in comparison to the Sus 304.
The purposes of this study were to reevaluate urban traditional houses and to propose direction for the conservation and utilization of urban traditional houses in a way of maintaining historical landscape rather than the value of urban traditional houses as components in expanded urban structure. For these purposes, we identified the characteristics of conservation and utilization of urban traditional houses by representative cases and analyzing them exhaustively, and suggested problems in the cinservation and utilization of traditional houses and solution for them. The current conservation system for Urban Traditional House in the Bukchon area is applied to non-residential Urban Traditional House differently according to the owner's consciousness of conservation because there is no support system for non-residential Urban Traditional House. Accordingly, there should be standardized criteria to maintain the landscape of the Bukchon area in terms of beauty formed by the elevation of Urban Traditional House and the continuity of roofs while accommodating various functions. As in total conservation or partial conservation, the interior remodeling of individual houses may be allowed but the three-dimensional external appearance composed of the outer walls, fences and roofs of Korean-style houses should be repaired and improved in a way of maintaining the image. In order to utilize Urban Traditional House in the Bukchon area, plans should be made in consideration of its location, historicity and tradition. We may expect the utilization of traditional cultural facilities and their surrounding areas as alternative cultural spaces. Such use of individual Urban Traditional House should be extended by linearly and areally and suggest the direction of conservation and utilization.

In this study, we propose the application of doping process technology for atmospheric pressure plasma. The plasma treatment means the wafer is warmed via resistance heating from current paths. These paths are induced by the surface charge density in the presence of illuminating Argon atmospheric plasmas. Furthermore, it is investigated on the high-concentration doping to a selective partial region in P type solar cell wafer. It is identified that diffusion of impurities is related to the wafer temperature. For the fixed plasma treatment time, plasma currents were set with 40, 70, 120 mA. For the processing time, IR(Infra-Red) images are analyzed via a camera dependent on the temperature of the P type wafer. Phosphorus concentrations are also analyzed through SIMS profiles from doped wafer. According to the analysis for doping process, as applied plasma currents increase, so the doping depth becomes deeper. As the junction depth is deeper, so the surface resistance is to be lowered. In addition, the surface charge density has a tendency inversely proportional to the initial phosphorus concentration. Overall, when the plasma current increases, then it becomes higher temperatures in wafer. It is shown that the diffusion of the impurity is critically dependent on the temperature of wafers.

In recent, realistic content has been applied in various ways due to the development of display technology and hologram, the final realistic content technology, have been used limitedly in accordance with the growing public demand. However, most realistic content requires additional devices of HMD (head mounted device) or glasses type, and other realistic content display technologies deliver a single image plane in the experience space to the user, providing a monotonous content experience. Various realistic contents with hologram technology are introduced in this work. In addition, we propose an interaction based realistic hologram service based that combines projection mapping and floating holograms. Projection-mapped screens and multi-floating hologram device provide a three-dimensional volumetric space with extended depth orientation from the user's point of view, while allowing users' entire and partial motions to be recognizable through multiple sensors.
