Anxiolytic Effects of Total Saponin Fraction from Ginseng Radix Rubra on the Elevated Plus-Maze Model in Mice

  • This study was performed to investigate the anxiolytic effects of total sponin fraction from Ginseng Radix Rubra (KRG) in mice using the elevated plus-maze model. The water extract of KRG and ginseng total saponins (GTS) purified from the water extract of KRG were administered orally to mice. One hour after administration of KRG water extract and GTS, mice were tested on the elevated plus-maze. The water extract of KRG 100 mg/kg, and GTS 25 and 50 mg/kg did not increase open arm entries and time spent on open arm. However, GTS 100 mg/kg increased the number of open arm entries and time spent on open arm. On the other hand, as the plus-maze test was affected by changes in locomotor activity, an additional test was carried out with the specific aim of monitoring locomotor activity. The water extract of KRG 100 mg/kg, and GTS 25 and 50 mg/kg did not affect the locomotor activity. However, GTS 100 mg/kg significantly decreased locomotor activity. From this study, we suggest that GTS may play an imponant role on the anxiolytic effects in the plus-maze model.

Wireless Packet Scheduling Algorithm for OFDMA System Based on Time-Utility and Channel State

  • In this paper, we propose an urgency- and efficiency-based wireless packet scheduling (UEPS) algorithm that is able to schedule real-time (RT) and non-real-time (NRT) traffics at the same time while supporting multiple users simultaneously at any given scheduling time instant. The UEPS algorithm is designed to support wireless downlink packet scheduling in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system, which is a strong candidate as a wireless access method for the next generation of wireless communications. The UEPS algorithm uses the time-utility function as a scheduling urgency factor and the relative status of the current channel to the average channel status as an efficiency indicator of radio resource usage. The design goal of the UEPS algorithm is to maximize throughput of NRT traffics while satisfying quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of RT traffics. The simulation study shows that the UEPS algorithm is able to give better throughput performance than existing wireless packet scheduling algorithms such as proportional fair (PF) and modified-largest weighted delay first (M-LWDF), while satisfying the QoS requirements of RT traffics such as average delay and packet loss rate under various traffic loads.

Physical Properties of Cement System Insulation Using Blast Furnace Slag

  • In this study, fabrication method of inorganic insulation were studied to reduce $CO_2$ from buildings. Main materials for inorganic insulation were used cement, blast furnace slag and aluminum powder as foaming agent. Mixing ratio of cement and slag was controlled and physical properties of inorganic insulation were analyzed. When inorganic insulation was fabricated using cement and slag, expanded slurries were not sunken and hardened normally. Pore size was 0.5 - 2 mm; mean pore size was about 1mm in inorganic insulation. Compressive strength of inorganic insulation increased with curing time and increased slightly with cement fineness. However, specific gravity decreased slightly with curing time; this phenomenon was caused by evaporation of adsorptive water. When inorganic insulation was dried at $60^{\circ}C$, compressive strength was higher than that of undried insulation. The highest compressive strength was found with a mixture of cement (50%) and slag (30%) in inorganic insulation. Compressive strength was 0.32 MPa, thermal conductivity was 0.043 W/mK and specific gravity was $0.12g/cm^3$.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 비대칭 PWM 제어 방식의 양방향 하프브리지 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 구조가 간단하고 넓은 듀티 범위를 가지므로 연료전지와 같은 넓은 전압변동을 가지는 응용에 적합하다. 제안한 비대칭 PWM 방식은 기존의 위상각제어 방식에 비해 스위치 및 변압기의 동작전류를 큰 폭으로 낮추었고 ZVZCS와 동기 정류 방식을 적용하여 높은 효율과 전력밀도를 가질 수 있다. 기존 컨버터와의 비교 분석을 수행하였으며 실험을 통해 본 방식의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Cu 도핑된 ZnO 박막의 물성 및 SAW 소자 응용 (Characterization of Cu-doped ZnO thin film and its application of SAW devices)

  • ZnO:Cu thin films are deposited by using an RF magnetron co-sputtering system with Cu chips attached on ZnO target. Structural and electrical properties are analyzed as a function of deposition conditions, such as Cu chip areas, $O_2/(Ar+O_2)$ ratios, and working pressures, The results show that a higher electrical resistivity above $10^{10}$ ${\Omega}cm$ along with an excellent c-axial growth can be easily achieved by Cu-doping. SAW filters based on the ZnO:Cu films are also fabricated to estimate the electric-mechanical coupling coefficient($K^{2}_{eff}$). Higher $K^{2}_{eff}$ and lower insertion losses are observed for ZnO:Cu films, compared with those for ZnO films.

최소자승 알고리즘을 이용한 디지털 보호 계전기용 고성능 FIR 필터의 VHDL 모델 설계 (VHDL Design of High Performance FIR Filter for Digital Protection Relay Using Least Square Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 보호 계전기에 쓰이는 필터 중에서 최소 자승 알고리즘을 이용한 고성능 FIR 필터를 설계하였다. 기존의 DFT필터와 MATLAB 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 비교하였으며 FIR 필터의 VHDL모델 및 합성에 중점을 두었다. FIR 필터는 기본적으로 유한개의 임펄스 응답이 이루어지기 때문에 기타 다른 필터에 비하여 안정도가 높으며 선형적인 위상을 가지기 때문에 차단 주파수 대역의 왜곡현상을 없앨 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 여러 가지 알고리즘으로 구현한 FIR 필터를 시뮬레이션 한 결과 최소 자승 알고리즘이 가장 우수한 결과를 나타내었다. 기본적으로 디지털 보호 계전기에서 디지털 필터의 기능은 사고 전압, 전류로부터 60Hz의 기본파 추출 CT, PT 왜곡 및 DC offset을 제거하는데 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기능을 가지면서 샘플링 주파수와 차수를 같게 하여 FIR 필터와 DFT 필터의 주파수 응답과 연 산 속도를 비교 하였다. 본 논문에서 설계된 최소 자승 알고리즘을 이용한 FIR 필터는 같은 조건의 DFT필터에 비해 1고조파와 2고조파의 차이가 10db 이상 더 우수 하였으며 연산 속도 또한 2배 이상 좋은 결과를 보였다.

Effects of periodic air-exposure and nutrients on the competition of Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus vesiculosus germlings

  • To examine the relationship between competition and environmental factors, the germlings of Ascophyllum nodosum (L) Le Jolis and Fucus vesiculosus L. were cultured in monocultures and mixtures of the two species under two different exposure and nutrient levels. Both intra- and inter-specific competition were examined in comparison of the mortality and growth of germlings in monocultures and mixtures of the two species. The mortality of germlings increased with increasing density and emergence periods both in the monoculture and mixtures of the two species, and the mortality of Ascophyllum was significantly higher than that of Fucus both in submerged and emerged treatments. The growth of germlings of both species reduced with increasing density but F. vesiculosus always grew faster than Ascophyllum. The values of log output ratio were more than 0.1, indicating that Fucus 'won' in the competitive battles with Ascophyllum under two nutrient- and air-exposure levels. Log output ratio was greater in high than in low nutrients, indicating that the growth of Fucus is more enhanced than that of Ascophyllum in high nutrients. In the present study, the outcome of inter specific competition between germlings of Fucus vesiculosus and Ascophyllum nodosum was slightly altered by duration of emergence and nutrient concentration, but not to such an extent as to change the outcome.

수평진동이 있는 용기내 자성유체 액면 동요 현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fluid Surface Movement Phenomena of Magnetic Fluids in a Container Subjected to a Horizontal Oscillation)

  • 본 논문에서는 수평진동이 있는 용기내 자유표면을 갖는 자성유체에 용기하부로부터 수직자장을 인가시킨 경우 유동을 실험하였다. 실험은 직사각형 및 원통형 용기에 대해 자성유체에 인가된 자기력이 공진주파수, 액면변위에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 인가자장의 증가는 최대 공진점 및 액면변위에 영향을 미치고 그 결과 표면파의 진폭과 슬로싱 유동의 변동주기를 변화시킨다.

  • 본 논문에서는 초저전력 어플리케이션을 위한 이중입력 자가 전력관리 시스템을 제안한다. 자가 발전 시스템의 전력 공급원으로는 PZT와 solar cell소자를 병합하여 사용한다. 제한된 전력관리 회로는 solar cell 출력 전압을 승압하기 위한 charge pump 회로, PZT의 출력을 DC로 변환하기 위한 rectifier, 수확된 에너지를 병합 및 관리하기 위한 전력관리회로로 구성된다. 설계된 회로는 CMOS 0.18um technology를 이용하여 성능을 검증하였다. 설계된 회로의 칩 면적은 $295um{\times}275um$ 이다.

  • A Neural networks has been used for a expert system and fault diagnosis system. It is possible to nonlinear function mapping and parallel processing. Therefore It has been developing for a Diagnosis system of nuclear plower plant. In general Neural Networks is a static mapping but Dynamic Neural Network(DNN) is dynamic mapping.쪼두 a fault occur in system a state of system is changed with transient state. Because of a previous state signal is considered as a information DNN is better suited for diagnosis systems than static neural network. But a DNN has many weights so a real time implementation of diagnosis system is in need of a rapid network architecture. This paper presents a algorithm for RCP monitoring Alarm diagnosis system using Self Dynamic Neural Network(SDNN). SDNN has considerably fewer weights than a general DNN. Since there is no interlink among the hidden layer. The effectiveness of Alarm diagnosis system using the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by applying to RCP monitoring in Nuclear power plant.
