  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the level of performance and predictors influencing health promotion behavior of Korean students in China. Method: The participants were 160 Korean students who have lived in Beijing, China. Data were collected by self reporting questionnaire from september to november, 2001 and t-test, ANOVA, Person's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The health promotion behavior score showed a positive correlation with perceived health status(r=.17, p=.025), social support(r=.29, p=.0001), and self-efficacy(r=.41, p=.0001). By use of stepwise multiple regression analysis, it was determined that the main factors influencing health promotion behavior were self-efficacy 17.0%(F=32.56, p=.0001) and social support 2.2%(F=4.11, p=.044). These variables explained 19.2% of the variance in the health promotion behavior scores. Conclusion: Self-efficacy and social support were the main factors influencing health promotion behavior. These findings showed that we need to develop nursing strategies to promote self-efficacy and social support for Korean students in China.

  • Aiming at the problem that the existing human behavior recognition algorithm cannot fully utilize the multi-level spatio-temporal information of the network, a human behavior recognition algorithm based on a dense three-dimensional residual network is proposed. First, the proposed algorithm uses a dense block of three-dimensional residuals as the basic module of the network. The module extracts the hierarchical features of human behavior through densely connected convolutional layers; Secondly, the local feature aggregation adaptive method is used to learn the local dense features of human behavior; Then, the residual connection module is applied to promote the flow of feature information and reduced the difficulty of training; Finally, the multi-layer local feature extraction of the network is realized by cascading multiple three-dimensional residual dense blocks, and use the global feature aggregation adaptive method to learn the features of all network layers to realize human behavior recognition. A large number of experimental results on benchmark datasets KTH show that the recognition rate (top-l accuracy) of the proposed algorithm reaches 93.52%. Compared with the three-dimensional convolutional neural network (C3D) algorithm, it has improved by 3.93 percentage points. The proposed algorithm framework has good robustness and transfer learning ability, and can effectively handle a variety of video behavior recognition tasks.

  • A bathroom in house has been stressed not only as a space for physiology and hygiene but also leisure and healthcare. However, the bathroom is the most likely space where an elderly person can have an accident and it is uncomfortable space for them because of their deteriorating physical ability. So the purpose of this study is to help the elderly use their bathroom conveniently by providing smart service. Therefore, we carry out 18 smart service patterns that contain assistive devices and sensors for bathroom. Considering applicability and frequency, from among these service patterns, we suggest 4 service patterns. First is a fall prevention service. This service helps elderly use the bathroom safely at night. Second is a getting ready to go out service. This service helps the situation that elderly use the bathroom after getting up in the morning. Third is a security service in daily life especially before or after meals. And final is a service regarding personal hygiene service after returning home. This service helps to shower or bathe after return home. These services have positive influence in medical expense reductions, good health care and self-reliance of elderly.

  • Perceived crowding is known as a necessary method to evaluate social carrying capacity in recreational settings. But according to the results of previous research, perceived crowding, use density, and satisfaction have shown weak and indirect correlations. The theory of visitors’ adjustment is one of several possible explanations for this poor relation. But the validity of the visitors’ adjustment theory has not been not inspected clearly. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to understand visitors’ adjustment theory and to examine visitors’ adjustment to the overuse of recreational settings. Study hypotheses were formulated through literature review and related to visitors’ adjustment in recreation density. Pour hypotheses were established and inspected with the case study, i.e., Rationalization : Visitors’ satisfaction isn't related to use density in recreation setting, 2) Product-shift : Preference norm is related to current use density, 3) Self-selection : Visitors’ satisfaction for the use level is generally high, and 4) Displacement : Norm interference is related to willingness to revisit. The case study was conducted during May and June,2001. According to the results of this survey, visitors adjust to overuse of recreation setting through rationalization and product shift (hypotheses l/2 acceptance). Current use density isn't related to visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit (see table 3). And visitors’ preference norm is modified by situation (see table 4). Visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit don't show a high correlation but moderately high (see table 5, hypothesis 3 acceptance). Differences between visitors’ preference norm and current use density is norm interference. Norm interference isn't related to willingness to revisit (see table 7). Therefore, the norm interference concept is not a useful method to explain visitors’ adjustment to the degree of overuse in a recreational setting (hypothesis 4 rejection). As for future directions, the following are proposed: 1) correctly understanding and reestablishing the visitor norm and norm interference concept, 2) introducing a composite research method to monitor visitors’ behavior and survey visitors’ attitudes and coping responses. These efforts would be helpful in the Planning and management of recreational settings to improve the quality of visitors’ experiences.

  • Purpose: Growing evidence indicates that adolescents from multicultural families are more vulnerable to drug use than those from non-multicultural families. This study aimed to compare the factors associated with the habitual drug use among adolescents from multicultural and non-multicultural families. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was employed. Data were obtained from the 14~15th (2018~2019) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. Overall, 91,443 multicultural (n=1,725) and non-multicultural adolescents (n=89,718) were included. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, univariate analysis, and logistic regression analysis. Results: The multicultural adolescents engaged in more habitual drug use than did non-multicultural adolescents. In both groups, those who currently drank, experienced violent victimization, had sexual experiences, and did not live with their family were at greater risk of engaging in habitual drug use. The odds ratios of these factors were higher in multicultural adolescents than in non-multicultural adolescents. In non-multicultural adolescents, those who were boys, had experienced depression and suicidal ideation, perceived their body image as normal, overweight, or obese, and had poor subjective health status were at greater risk of engaging in habitual drug use. Conclusion: These results highlight the need to develop customized strategies for adolescents from both multicultural and non-multicultural families to reduce and prevent their habitual drug use.

  • The user behaviors in the parks around the commercial area may have different characteristics in comparison with the behaviors in typical neighborhood parks because they may be affected by nearby commercial facilities. The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of park users'behavior considering adjacent environments in the neighborhood parks located in central business district of Daegu and to suggest improvements and complements for the construction of new parks and remodeling current parks. According to the results, the land values were high and the percentage of deteriorated buildings was low around Gukchae Reward Movement Memorial Park and 2.28 Central Memorial Park. However, the commercial facilities were entirely declined along with a drop in land values around Gyeongsang-gamyeong Park and old people used this park more than young people. In terms of the purpose of park use, users of three parks had indirect behavior patterns related near commercial facilities rather than using directly park facilities and the age groups of park users were similar to the user groups of nearby commercial facilities. Also, the determinant factors of satisfaction with park use were varied depending on the difference of age groups of park users and park characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the effects of user age groups according to the changes of environment around parks for the construction and organization of parks.

  • This research examined the effects of Narcissism as socio-psychological factor and physical features such as BMI on the selfie behavior. The participants of the study were SNS users aged 20-29 years recruited in Daegu and surrounding areas. Statistical analysis including factor analysis, ANOVA, cluster analysis and regression was done using SPSS 23.0 to analyze the results. Two groups with high other-dependent Narcissism showed higher levels of Cosmetic surgery management and clothing management compared to other groups. Among 4 clusters divided by BMI, the lower the BMI, the higher the level of appearance management behavior except for body management. Other-dependent Narcissism and BMI have been shown to have a significant effect on selfie behavior in the relationship of Narcissism, BMI and selfie behavior. In the relationship between appearance management behavior and selfie behavior, only beauty treatment management influenced selfie improvement behavior, and all appearance management behaviors affected selfie complement behavior. Fashion brands should use the relationship between Narcissism, appearance management behavior and selfie behavior in planning selfie related events on SNS as well as consider active collaboration with cosmetics brands. It is necessary to investigate selfie behavior from a more diverse perspective by expanding future research targets and diversify related variables.
