  • Objectives : This case series aims to report the efficacy of using oriental medical treatment with Melonis Calyx Vomiting Therapy for Hwa-Byung. Methods : Patients were diagnosed with Hwa-Byung through Hwa-Byung Diagnostic interview schedule (HBDIS). They were treated with Oriental medical treatment (Acupncture, Herb-medication) and Melonis Calyx Vomiting Therapy (MCVT). MCVT is a traditional treatment, which induces vomiting by eating Melonis Calyx powder with water. We used VAS score and Scott scale for the symptoms of patients and IOMEHB (instrument of oriental medical evaluation for Hwa-Byung), BDI, STAI for the psychological conditions of the patients. Results : After treatment, the chief complaint and other symptoms of Hwa-Byung have improved. The scores of IOMEHB, BDI, and STAI have decreased. Conclusions : This result suggests that using MCVT with Oriental medical treatment have a positive efficacy for Hwa-Byung.

칼코게나이드 As-Ge-Se-S 박막에서 홀로그래픽 격자의 에칭 특성 (Etching characteristics of holographic grating on chalcogenide As-Ge-Se-S thin films)

  • Amorphous As-Ge-Se-S thin films have been studied with the aim of identifying optimum etching condition which can be used to produce holographic grating structure for use as diffractive optical elements. In this study, holographic gratings have been formed using He-Ne laser(632.8nm), and fabricated by the method of wet etching using NaOH etchant with various concentration(0.26N, 0.33N, 0.40N). The diffraction efficiency was obtained by +1st order intensity of the diffracted beam. The formed grating profiles were observed by atomic force microscope and showed that the expected grating profile could be achieved by controlling the etching time. Over-etching resulted in under-cutting of the grating lines. The highest 1st order diffraction efficiency for these gratings was about 5.05%.

  • Following ginsenoside-Rb1-hydrolyzing assay, strictly anaerobic bacteria were isolated from human feces and identified as Prevotella oris. The bacteria hydrolyzed ginsenoside Rb1 and Rd to $20-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyl-20(S)-protopanaxadiol$ (I), ginsenoside Rb2 to $20-O-[{\alpha}-L-arabinofuranosyl (1{\rightarrow}6)-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyl] - 20(S)-protopanaxadiol$ (ll) and ginsenoside Rc to $20-O-[{\alpha}-L-arabinofuranosyl (1{\rightarrow} 6){\beta}-D-g1ucopyranosyl]-20(S)-protopanaxadiol$ (III) like fecal microflora, but did not attack ginsenoside Re nor Rgl (Protopanaxatriol-type). Pharmacokinetic studies of ginseng saponins was also performed using specific pathogen free rats and demonstrated that the intestinal bacterial metabolites I-111, 20(S)- protopanaxatriol(IV) and 20(S)-protopanaxadiol(V) were absorbed from the intestines to $blood(0.4-5.1\;{\mu}g/ml)$ after oral administration with total saponin(1 g/kg/day).

  • There has been no systematic accumulation in the aircraft weight data even though those are crucial in the full life-cycle weight and balance program of aircraft. Companies, government agencies, and the Korea Air Force have been controling the data separately. The lack of communication between these institutes prevented the mutual use of the data. This study deals with a SE model-based weight and balance program development process for the full life-cycle weight and balance control of aircraft which enabled the efficient and mutual use of the weight data from the various institutes.
