The changes of hydraulic environment caused by construction of Saemankeum dike (새만금방조제 축조에 따른 수리환경 변화)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the changes of hydraulic environment after the construction of Saemangeum sea-dikes. Numerical simulation on the tidal condition of dated 17 Apr. 1999 is performed with and without sea-dike construction status for the comparison. Results show the tidal amplitude is reducing approximately 20 cm after the construction of sea-dike during spring tide condition of 6.9 m amplitude. Currents after construction of sea-dikes along the alignment, the northern part shows 50% (inner), 90% (outer) and the southern part shows 10% (inner), 50% (outer) of the current before construction.

  • Since 1980, rapid social and economic development due to increased plant construction has led to a plant dormitory in a short period. In recent years, by the advent of the durability of dormitory remodeling is a critical need. However, user requirements due to the lack of owner's budget do not reflected. As a result, users have complained about the scope of construction, and construction stakeholder in accordance with the budget efficiency of the complaints have decreased. In this study the remodeling requirements in the planning stages is proposed for the remodeling process. In addition work type and element can select a range of construction worksheet are proposal.

  • Through the case study, we surveyed an applicability of digital fabrication in irregular-shaped building construction project. By digital fabrication, we mean is a precision manufacturing method has been used in aircraft, ship and car manufacturing industry. We collected construction-completed "LotteWorld Tower Podium" project data and analyzed its process in terms of construction quality andduration. The result shows that digital fabrication is considered a competitive technology that enabled to complete the project in seven months within 3mm surface curvature threshold. The digitalfabrication is expected to apply on a number of irregular-shaped building construction project.

  • The various photo data has a lot of information that had produce by the process of construction project lifecycle. Therefore construction site images is very important for effective management of the photograph information to transmit of accurate object information included in photography data. So the purpose of the study is to make application direction of intelligent image information that had image information in tandem with information of 5W1H for effective management of sites image in construction and maintenance phase.

  • Many pictures are taken in construction sites. However, the pictures are not being managed effectively. In this study, the need for vector-photo have been raised which combines pictures and 5W1H information, and the vector-photo format have been suggested. A test module and user-interface have been developed for validating an utility of the format proposed.

  • Incentive/Disincentive (I/D) contract is designed for minimizing any disruption of traffic flow in road construction projects. I/D contracting projects have been evaluated with regard to time and cost performance in various states, more than 35 states. However, construction project managers and planners have little understanding of the project factors that affect the project time and cost performance of highway construction projects using I/D regulations. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find factors that affect I/D project success or failure to improve the decision-making process for the implementation of I/D projects. In order to achieve the objectives of this research, the researchers collected I/D road construction project data from FDOT and performed evaluation for each collected project. Then, project data analysis to identify key factors that affect I/D project performance was performed. In conclusion, five significant factors for project time performance and six significant factors for project cost perfornace were identified and summarized.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a cost classification system that can be used in gas plant construction projects. Towards this end, it examined the detailed statements of the construction companies which had experience in carrying out plant construction projects. Based on the above, it also presented a life-cycle (i.e., EPCC) cost classification system for the gas plant construction projects by conducting the Delphi analysis through the expert opinions.
