초등학생의 방과 후 스포츠 활동 참여에 따른 부모자녀 간 의사소통과 문제행동의 구조적 분석 (An analysis on the Structural relationship between Parents-Child Communication and Child's problematic behavior Depending on the Elementary School Student's Participation in a Sport activity after School class)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 청주 C지역 초등 5-6학년 189명을 유층표집 하여 방과 후 스포츠 활동 참여가 부모자녀 간 의사소통과 문제행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지를 구조적으로 분석하는 것이었다. SPSS 18.0을 이용한 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석 결과 방과후 스포츠 활동에 참여는 부모자녀 간 의사소통을 개선(성취동기, 자신감, 자긍심 등)시키고, 문제행동(우울, 불안, 반항, 공격성 등)을 감소시켰으며, 부모자녀 간 의사소통은 부정적인 소통(핀잔, 잔소리, 힐책 등)은 줄어든 반면, 문제행동 감소에도 영향을 주었다. 향후 아동의 정서적 인간적으로 제기되는 심리적 탄력성 신장을 위해서는 방과 후 스포츠 활동 참여의 가치를 종목별로 체계적인 프로그램을 마련하고 이에 대한 유효성을 지속적으로 검증할 필요가 있다고 생각된다.

부모-유아 어휘 상호작용 척도의 개발 및 타당화 (Development and Validation of Parent-child Lexical Interaction Scale for Preschoolers (PLIS-P))

  • This study developed and validated a 'Parent-child Lexical Interaction Scale for Preschoolers (PLIS-P)'. First, we developed the preliminary scale with 7 factors after reviewing previous literature related to vocabulary and literacy instruction for young children and reflected on feedback from child studies experts and mothers with young children. Subsequently, to validate the scale, the online survey was conducted on mothers with 5-to 6-year-old children who live in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gyeongsang, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gangwon, and Jeju. Responses from 309 mothers were used to conduct exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis. The results were as follows. First, the result of exploratory analysis showed that the model with 7 factors was satisfactory: (1) vocabulary exposure, (2) word elaboration, (3) scaffolding, (4) play activity, (5) conventional instruction, (6) word type awareness instruction, (7) word morphology instruction. Second, confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the good fit of the model. Third, the concurrent validity was confirmed by correlation analysis using EC-HOME. Last, the internal consistency reliability of each factor of PLIS-P was also confirmed. This study developed both a theoretical framework of parent-child lexical interaction and a Parent-child Lexical Interaction Scale for Preschoolers. This scale can be used by parents, practitioners, and researchers to acquire knowledge about interaction related to words between Korean parents and young children.

교복 구매 표준화를 위한 소비자 구매 실태 조사 연구 (A Study on the Purchasing Practice for Standardization System for Purchasing School Uniforms)

  • This study suggests basic data for the standardization of school uniform purchase by examining the statistics of purchasing practice school uniforms from information sources, purchasing methods, and consumer' perception about collaborative purchases. A survey was conducted with first grade male and female middle-school students, and their parents. A total of 344 questionnaires were returned and analyzed. The results were as follows: first, when making purchases, information sources were explained by parents, friends, senior students, or workers at uniform shops. The purchasing methods were popular brand uniforms or specialized uniform shops. Second, four factors were extracted from purchasing data for factor analysis. The factors were comfort, appearance, service, other external factors, and promotions. Third, the perception analysis and need of collaborative purchases were indicated by 90% of the students' parents, who were aware of collaborative purchase. Additionally, 71.2% answered collaborative purchase was necessary. Fourth, for future uniform purchases, 75.6% of the students answered to buy more popular brands, or products from specialized school uniform shops, while 54.4% of the parents answered positively to collaborative purchases. The results of the examination of consumer school uniform purchasing behavior will provide useful strategies for the standardization system for purchasing school uniforms.

또래관계 및 부모-자녀관계 특성이 청소년의 자살 충동에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Peer and Parent-Child Relationships on the Suicidal Ideation of Adolescents)

  • This study examined the influences of both peer and parent-child relationships on suicidal ideation in adolescents with a focus on interpersonal relationships in adolescence that can act as risks as well as protective factors for youth suicide. This study analyzed 5,440 middle and high school students drawn from data, the seventh Happy Planet Index of children-adolescent in Korea, and conducted a series of logistic regressions. The results are as follows. First, both direct and indirect involvement in the school violence affects suicidal ideation as a risk factor in peer relationships. However, the quality and quantity of close friends of adolescents do not represent a protective role against suicidal ideation insofar as they are exposed to school violence. Second, adolescents who live apart from one of their parents are vulnerable to suicidal ideation than those who live with two parents. Third, very poor parent-child relationships in adolescence are not necessarily associated with suicidal ideation in adolescents. Fourth, shared time or activities between parents and adolescents in terms of family meal times are more likely to reduce suicidal ideation in adolescents than the emotional characteristics (trustworthiness or a close relationship) of parents and adolescents. The findings provide implications that frequent contact and shared activities in terms of family dining may contribute to the prevention of adolescent suicide.

Nutritional status and related factors among ethnic preschool children in Northern Thailand: a cross-sectional study

  • Purpose: This study investigated the nutritional status of ethnic (belonging to minority groups) preschool children in Northern Thailand. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, the sample group included 147 parents and 147 preschool children (2-6 years old). Participants volunteered to complete a questionnaire on the personal information of children and parents, as well as family- and school-related factors. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a nutritional status calculator, and logistic regression analysis. Results: A birth weight of less than 2,500 g was related to weight-for-age and weight-for-height. Not having been breastfed and having been breastfed for less than 6 months were related to weight-for-height. An elementary school education level among parents was related to children's height-for-age. Familial unhealthy food consumption for 1-2 days per week was related to weight-for-age and height-for-age. Conclusion: This study reflects the importance of nutritional care for children at the beginning of pregnancy and continuing to the preschool age, as well as the importance of breastfeeding. Families were found to be a key factor in supporting good nutrition among children.

아동 요리활동 프로그램에 대한 학부모의 기대와 만족에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expectation and Satisfaction of Parents on Cooking Activity Programs for Children)

  • 본 연구에서는 요리활동 프로그램의 교육적 가치와 효과를 인식하여 아동 요리활동 프로그램에 대한 학부모의 기대와 만족을 비교하고, 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 자녀에게 요리활동 프로그램을 시행하고 있거나 시행한 경험이 있는 학부모를 대상으로 총254개의 표본을 바탕으로, 대응표본 t검정, IPA분석, 회귀분석, One-way ANOVA를 시행하였고, Duncan's multiple test를 통해 사후 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 요리활동 프로그램의 기대와 만족의 차이에는 '언어 표현능력 향상', '수개념 및 과학개념 발달', '내면을 표현하는 표현력 신장', '정서적 안정감과 스트레스 해소에 도움'이 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 요리활동 프로그램의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 '교육내용 및 방법'이 나타났으며, 요리활동 프로그램 기관에 따른 만족도의 차이를 알아본 결과 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The impact of an educational intervention on parents' decisions to vaccinate their <60-month-old children against influenza

  • Purpose: Seasonal influenza can be prevented by vaccination. Disease prevention in children aged <60 months is of particular importance because of the associated familial and societal burden. Considering that caretakers make the decision to vaccinate their children, the identification of drivers and barriers to vaccination is essential to increase influenza vaccination coverage. Methods: A total of 639 parents participated in the pre- and posteducational survey and 450 parents participated in the study via telephone interviews. The participating parents were asked to rank their agreement with each statement of the survey questionnaire on a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree), and the scores between pre- and postintervention were compared. Results: Before the educational intervention, 105 out of 639 participants reported not to agree to vaccinate their children against influenza. After the intervention, 46 out of the 105 parents changed their opinions about childhood vaccination. The physicians' recommendation received the highest agreement score and was the most important driver to vaccination, whereas the cost of vaccination was the strongest factor for not vaccinating children. In general, the participants significantly changed the agreement scores between pre- and postintervention. However, the unfavorable opinions about vaccination and the convenience of receiving the influenza vaccine did not change significantly. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a specific educational intervention involving caregivers is very effective in increasing the influenza vaccination coverage of children aged less than 60 months.

Research on the Quality of Life of the Parents by Functions, Activities, Participation, and Environmental Factors of Children with Cerebral Palsy Using ICF-CY Checklist

  • Purpose: This study examined whether the quality of life of parents of children with cerebral palsy is affected by the functions, activities, participation, and environmental factors using an ICF-CY check list. Methods: This study recruited in 26 parents of children with cerebral palsy. The functions, activities, participation, and environmental factors of the children were evaluated using ICF-CY checklist. To measure the quality of life of parents, this study used world health organization quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF), which was composed of a total of 26 questions. The GMFCS (gross motor function classification system) was used to assess the degree of disability in the children. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the effects of the ICF-CY checklist on the quality of life. Correlation analysis was performed to examine the correlation between GMFCS and WHOQOL. Results: The functions, activities, participation, and environmental factors were significantly different from WHOQOL-BREF. On the other hand, the contextual factor showed a significant difference in the neuromusculoskeletal and movement-related functions (b7), and service, systems, and policies (e5)(p<0.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that the functions and environmental factors affect the quality of life of parents of children with cerebral palsy. Therefore, these findings suggest that contextual factors, such as neuromusculoskeletal and movement-related functions (b7), and service, systems and policies (e5), which can be facilitators, should be considered for improving the quality of life of parents of children with cerebral palsy.

영아의 만족지연능력과 만족지연전략 및 어머니의 양육방식간의 관계 (The Relationships among Infant's Delay Gratification, Delay Strategy, and Parents' Child-rearing Attitude)

  • 본 연구에서는 영아의 만족지연능력과 만족지연전략 및 어머니의 통제성간의 관계를 알아보았다. 연구대상은 18-36개월의 영아였으며 만족지연능력 측정 실험은 Mischel(1974)이 고안한 자기 만족지연 실험을 Rha(1999)가 연령에 맞게 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 만족지연능력에 사용되는 전략으로는 직접응시 전략과 주의분산 전략으로 분류하여 관찰하였으며 어머니의 양육방식은 조복희, 이진숙, 이홍숙 그리고 권희경(1999)에 의해 개발된 척도의 일부인 통제 13문항을 발췌하여 사용하였다. 연구결과 영아의 월령이 증가함에 따라 만족지연능력이 증가하며, 영아가 사용하는 만족지연전략은 월령이 높아질수록 주의분산전략을 더 많이 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 영아의 월령, 만족지연 전략인 직접응시 전략과 주의분산 전략은 영아의 만족지연능력에 유의미한 영향을 주었다.

공평성을 다룬 전래동화에 대한 부모와 유아교사의 평가 (Parents' and Kindergarten Teachers' Evaluation of the Traditional Fairy Tales regarding Distributive Justice)

  • 본 연구는 전래동화를 이용하여 유아의 공평성 추론 향상 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 기초자료를 수집하기 위하여 수행되었다. 전래동화는 유아교육의 중요매체이며, 부모와 유아교사는 유아에게 전래동화를 선택하고 들려줌으로써 유아에게 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 따라서 유아의 부모와 유아교사가 공평성을 다룬 전래동화에 대해 어떻게 평가하는 지를 파악하고자 하였다. 240명의 부모와 78명의 유아교사를 대상으로 6편의 공평성을 다룬 전래동화에 대한 평가를 조사한 결과, 일부 공평성을 다룬 전래동화에 대해 유아에게 유익한지와 가치관형성에 적합한지에 대해서 부모의 평가가 유아교사의 평가보다 높았지만, 전반적으로는 부모와 유아교사의 공평성을 다룬 전래동화에 대한 평가가 일치하는 편이었다. 이는 공평성을 다룬 전래동화가 유아의 공평성 추론 향상 프로그램에 사용될 수 있음을 시사한다.
