한부모의 성역할인식과 가족복지서비스 이용이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Gender Role Attitudes and Family Service Utilization on Self-Esteem among Single Parents)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of gender role attitudes and family service utilization on self-esteem among single parents. This study used data from the seventh wave of Korean Welfare Panel Study and analyzed 90 single parents. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that health status, economic situation, gender role attitudes, and non-monetary family welfare service had significant effects on single parents' self-esteem. Single parents who had higher traditional gender role attitudes show lower levels of self-esteem. Also use of a non-monetary family service increased the levels of self-esteem. However, use of a monetary family service was not significantly associated with the levels of self-esteem. The findings indicate that services and programs to promote single parents' gender role flexibility should be developed. Also, it is necessary to establish a service system to reduce multiple role stress among single parents.

부모간의 갈등 및 성인애착에 따른 대학생의 자아탄력성 (The Impact of Parents′ Marital Conflict and Adult Attachment on College Students′ Ego-Resiliency)

  • This study investigated the impact of parents' marital conflict and adult attachment on ego-resiliency among college students. The participants were three hundred sixty six undergraduate students (118 men and 248 women) enrolled in a university in Gyeongbuk Province. Survey questionnaires were used to measure parents' marital conflict perceived by the students, adult attachment, and ego-resiliency. Data were analyzed by means, standard deviations, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, correlation, and multiple regressions. Results are summarized in the following: (1) Male students' ego-resiliency level was higher than lunate students'. (2) Students' ego-resiliency was higher in the group whose parents remained married than in the group whose parents did not. (3) The level of parents' marital conflict perceived by students was negatively correlated with their ego-resiliency. The level of adult attachment was positively correlated with students' ego-resiliency. (4) Regression analysis showed that adult attachment was more influential on college students' ego-resiliency than parents' marital conflict as perceived by the students.

영재학생의 다중지능과 그 학부모가 인식하는 자녀에 대한 다중지능의 비교 (Comparison of Multi-intelligence of gifted students and their parents' perception of their children)

  • In this study, we compare the multiple intelligence of gifted students with the multiple intelligence of their children recognized by their parents. The subjects of the study are 118 students and their parents at the gifted education center affiliated with A University. First of all, there is a difference between the multiple intelligence of gifted students and the multiple intelligence recognized by their parents. Parents are highly regarded their children in all multiple intelligence components. Second, there are differences in multiple intelligence of gifted students' gender. The difference in multiple intelligence of children recognized by parents depending on the gender of the student was similar to the student's results. Third, there are not much difference in multiple intelligence between elementary and middle school students. However, there is a big difference between students and parents in the elementary school group compared to the middle school students. Therefore, since multi-intelligence can be developed by individual experience and environment throughout one's life, an educational environment that reflects objective evaluation and student needs rather than parental subjective judgment should be created.

일본 기혼여성들과 친정부모간의 세대관계: 동거여부 및 대화빈도를 중심으로 (Relations of Married Women and their Own Parents in Japan: Coresidence and Contact Frequency)

  • 일본의 성인자녀와 노부모간 관계에 대한 연구에서 기혼여성과 이들의 친정부모간의 관계에 대한 연구는 충분히 축적되지 못한 실정이다. 이 연구는 세대간 동거여부와 대화빈도를 통해 이러한 세대관계를 접근하고 있다. 일본 기혼여성과 친정부모간 세대관계는 기혼여성들의 배우자, 자녀, 형제자매, 시부모 그리고 친정부모의 상황에 따라 차별적이라는 예측이 가능하다. 이를 위해 <일본 2003년도 제2회 전국가족조사>를 이용해 친정부모와 시부모 양가의 일원이 모두 생존해 있는 30~40대 기혼여성을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 친정부모와 동거할 확률(시부모와의 동거를 통제한 상태)은 부인의 형제자매수가 많을수록 낮게 나타났다. 특히 남자형제가 있는 경우 친정부모와의 동거확률은 두드러지게 낮았다. 이와 함께 친정부모 모두가 생존한 경우보다는 친정아버지만 생존한 경우에 해당 동거확률이 높게 나타났다. 친정부모와의 대화빈도(친정부모와의 동거여부를 통제한 상태)는 시부모와 동거하는 경우에 낮았으며, 형제자매수가 많을수록 낮았다. 한편, 해당 대화빈도는 친정부모 중 한 분만 생존한 경우에 높게 나타났다. 또한, 남편보다 부인의 학력이 높거나 친정부모에 대한 남편의 태도에 만족하는 경우에 친정부모와의 대화빈도가 높게 나타났다. 형제자매수가 많으면 동거가능성도 낮아지지만 대화빈도도 낮아지는 결과는 형제자매간에 세대간 동거나 대화가 어느 정도 분담되고 있음을 의미한다. 한편, 홀로된 친정부모와의 동거가능성이 높고 대화빈도가 많은 점은 노부모에 대한 다양한 지원과 자녀로서의 마음쓰임을 보여준다. 친정부모와의 대화빈도가 시부모와의 동거여부 그리고 부부간 학력차이나 남편의 친정부모에 대한 태도 등에 따라 달라진다는 점은 기혼여성들이 시부모와 남편의 영향에서 자유롭지 못함을 시사한다. 이상의 결과들은 기혼여성들의 세대간 관계를 분석하는 작업에서 다양한 가족관계를 동시에 고찰하고 고민할 필요성을 제기한다.

IPA분석을 통한 미취학 아동 급식의 급식서비스 품질특성 및 급식운영 평가 - 한국·중국·일본의 미취학 아동을 자녀로 둔 부모를 대상으로 - (An Evaluation of the Foodservice Quality and Management of Preschool Foodservice Establishments by IPA - Focusing on Parents of Preschoolers in Metropolitan Area of Korea, China and Japan -)

  • This study was targeted on the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese parents of preschoolers to investigate the importance and satisfaction of foodservice quality and the importance and performance of foodservice management of the preschool foodservice establishments. The present study conducted a survey on 390 randomly chosen parents of preschoolers (130 Korean, 130 Chinese, and 130 Japanese). Respondents' importance-satisfaction of foodservice quality characteristics and their importance-performance of foodservice management were measured. In order to test for differences between the groups, paired t-test, one way ANOVA, and IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) were performed. The results were as follows. The importance of foodservice quality was significantly higher than the satisfaction on all items, according to the parents of Korea, China, and Japan. The importance of foodservice quality was higher in Korean parents than in Chinese and Japanese parents. According to ISA results with foodservice quality characteristics, the characteristics with relatively low satisfaction but high importance (II quadrant) was 'Diversity of menu' in both Korean and Chinese parents, and 'Sanitation of tables and chairs' in both Korean and Japanese parents. The importance of foodservice management was significantly higher than performance on all items in Korean, Chinese and Japanese parents. The performance of foodservice management was higher in Chinese than in Japanese and Korean parents. According to IPA results with foodservice management, the management with relatively low performance but high importance (II quadrant) was 'Preparation' in Korean parents, and 'Facility and equipment' in Japanese parents. Therefore, the items with relatively low satisfaction (performance) and high importance should be well-managed.

부모-비혼 성인자녀 관계의 재조명 : 동거 및 경제적 의존 여부에 따른 집단별 특성 차이를 중심으로 (Elderly Parents-Unmarried Adult Children Relationships : Group Differences by Co-residency and Economic Dependency of Adult Children)

  • Following the global trend of the delayed transition to adulthood, the number of unmarried middle aged adult children living with, or economically dependent on their parents has increased in Korea. Middle aged adult children in Korea are traditionally expected to satisfy their duty to support their elderly parents both in economic and emotional needs. This study aims to explore group differences in unmarried adult children in their mid 30s or older and in parents having unmarried middle aged child(ren) depending on co-residency and the children's eonomic dependency in Korea. Using quota sampling in terms of living arrangements (living together vs. living apart), 500 unmarried adult children 35 years of age or older and 500 elderly parents, having at least one unmarried child in the mid of 30s or over, were selected in Seoul, Korea in June 2016. First, the findings show that unmarried adult children living together with their parents and depending on their parents economically were in the lowest level of educational achievement and the lowest level of monthly average income among the respondents. Second, both unmarried adult children and parents from the group of co-residency and economically dependent showed the lowest level of psychological well-being. Third, parents from the group of co-residency and economically independent had mostly positive relationships with children, whereas, parents from the group of living apart and economically dependent reported the most negative relationships. Finally, respondents included in the group of co-residency had positive attitudes toward marriage and the support for their elderly parents regardless of the child's economic dependency. This study has implications for the increasing number of unmarried middle aged adult children and their elderly parents.

한국 기혼여성과 시부모 및 친정부모간의 접촉 (Intergenerational Contact of Young Married Women in Korea with Parents and with Parents-in-law)

  • 이 연구는 젊은 기혼여성과 이들과 별거하고 있는 시부모 및 친정부모간의 접촉정도와 그에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 살펴보고 있는데, 그 초점을 시부모와의 근접성이 친정부모와의 접촉에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인지, 그리고 역으로 친정부모와의 근접성이 시부모와의 접촉에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인지에 두면서 두 가지의 시나리오를 설정하고 있다. 우선, 전통적 효 규범에 따른 시나리오에 의하면, 친정부모와의 지리적 근접성이 시부모와의 접촉빈도에 영향을 미치지 못할 것으로 또한 시부모와의 근접성은 친정부모와의 접촉빈도와 관계가 없을 것이라 예상된다. 다음으로, 경쟁적 시나리오에 의하면, 시부모인지 친정부모인지에 관계없이 어느 한쪽의 부모와 근접할수록 다른 쪽의 부모와의 접촉은 적을 것이라 예상된다. 1994년도에 실시된 <전국 출산력 및 국민건강조사>자료를 이용해 세대간의 상호방문빈도에 관해 회귀분석을 실시해 본 결과, 경쟁적 시나리오를 지지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 방문빈도분석의 결과는 시부모에 대한 기혼여성의 관심과 헌신을 규정해온 전통적인 가족규범이 약화되어지면서, 친정부모와 시부모가 좀 더 동등한 입장에 가까워지고 있음을 시사한다고 볼 수 있다.

환경교육프로그램의 학부모 참여 효과 (The Effects of Parents' Participation in Environmental Education Programs)

  • The consciousness of environmental education has increased for the last decades, and schools make efforts for education in the systematic environment. To keep pace with trends such as the open school and the open class, students, teachers and parents are actively participating in environmental education programs. Parents' active participate in environmental education programs will provide excellent basis to operate environmental education efficiently and advise fruitful operation of environmental education programs. In addition, as parents play an important role of deciding the students' life habits or attitudes about environment, their participation is greatly meaningful. This study was conducted to 203 fourth and fifth graders in M elementary school in Ulsan city that operated the model school for protecting the forest from March to December, 2009 and their parents in order to examine the effects of parents' participation in environmental education programs, and the results are as follows. First, the student group with parents who participated in environmental education programs showed higher interest in surrounding environment of the school. Second, the student group with parents who participated in environmental education programs showed higher environment sensitiveness and environmental practice intention. Third, the parent group who participated in environmental education programs showed higher environmental sensitiveness and environmental practice intention. Fourth, the parent group who participated in environmental education programs showed higher satisfaction about the program. As the result of the study, environmental education programs with parents' participation attracted their active interest and participation about school environment problems, and a lot of conversation and attention between students and parents who participated in environmental education programs improved the students and their parents' environmental sensitiveness and environmental practice intention.

중년기 부모와 기혼 자녀 간 상호 자원이전: 경제적 자원과 도구적 자원을 중심으로 (Resource Transfers between Middle-Aged Parents and Their Married Children)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influences on resource transfers between middle-aged parents and their married children. This study used 2009 data from the National Research Foundation of Korea regarding inter-generational resource transfers and preparation for later life (kfr-2009-c00010). A sample of 1208 households of middle-aged parents with married children was used. The study found that parents provided financial resource transfers to their married children in the following circumstances: where parents received financial resource transfers from their married children, where the household income of parents was high, where the children were younger, and where the children were male. Parents provided instrumental resource transfers to their married children in the following circumstances: where parents received instrumental resource transfers from their married children, where the gender of children was female, where the children were employed, where married children had their own children who were either younger than a preschooler, and where household incomes of married children were high. Parents received financial resource transfers from their married children in these circumstances: where their emotional ties with their children was high, where the household income of the parents was low, where the household income of the married children was high, and where married children had preschoolers. The circumstances in which parents received instrumental resource transfers from their married children were where parents provided instrumental resource transfers and the household incomes of married children were high.

초등학교 영양교육에 대한 학교행정관리자, 학부모 및 영양교사의 인식 비교 (Perception of Nutritional Education among School Administrators, Parents, and School Nutrition Teachers at an Elementary School)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the perception of nutritional education among school administrators, parents, and school nutrition teachers at an elementary school. Questionnaires were distributed to 450 subjects (150 school nutrition teachers, 150 school administrators, and 150 parents) from June 15 to June 30, 2009, and 309 (84 school nutrition teachers, 104 administrators, and 121 parents) were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. First, school nutrition teachers' perceived level (4.54) of importance of nutritional education was significantly (P<0.001) higher compared to school administrators (4.10) and parents (3.97). Second, demand for revitalization of nutritional education as perceived by parents (3.23) was significantly (P<0.001) higher compared to school nutrition teachers (2.61) and school administrators (2.51). Third, parents' satisfaction level of elementary school nutritional education was 3.23, followed by those of school administrators (2.83) and school nutrition teachers (2.50). There were significant differences in terms of satisfaction of elementary school nutritional education between school administrators, parents, and school nutrition teachers (P<0.001). Fourth, school nutrition teachers' demand for revitalization of nutritional education was significantly (P<0.001) higher at 4.24 compared to both parents (3.76) and school administrators (3.46). Fifth, with regards to bolstering nutritional education in elementary schools, it was deemed necessary for each school to have a school nutrition teacher. In conclusion, perception of nutritional education varied among school administrators, parents, and school nutrition teachers. In conclusion, a communication network between school administrators, parents, and school nutrition teachers should be established for revitalization of nutritional education at elementary schools.
