This research was convergence study conducted to understand the effect that parent-son/daughter communications have on the addiction to smartphones, with stress level, self-control, and self-efficacy as the mediator. The subjects were college students located in J province and K province, and 232 questionnaires were used as the data for analysis. As a result, addiction to smartphones had negative correlations with parent-son/daughter communication, self-control, and self-efficacy and had positive correlations with stress level. In addition, parent-son/daughter communication influenced the degree of addiction to smartphones, with stress level, self-control, and self-efficacy as the mediator. Therefore, in order to reduce college students' addiction to smartphones, programs should be developed specifically and systematically to increase their communication with their parents, and it is necessary to draw up measures to reduce students' stress levels and increase their self-control and self-efficacy levels.

The purposes of this study are to secure the desirable parent-adolescent cohesion, to find out the real parent-adolescent cohesion and to investigate the influences of family structure variables on the parent-adolescent cohesion. The data are obtained from a sample of 364 high school students in Seoul by using questionaires. X2-test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe-test, Kruskal-Wallis test and difference of percentages with cross tabulation are used for data analysis. The major findings are as follows : 1) The high parent-adolescent cohesion is found to be desirable. 2) The mother-adolescent cohesion is higher than that of the father-adolescent. 3) The father-son cohesion is influenced by siblings existence, while the mother-son cohesion is influenced by siblings existence and birth order. The father-daughter cohesion is influenced by birth order and difference of age between mother and daughter. However the mother-daughter cohesion is influenced by the presence of the arents and difference of age between mother and daughter. 4) The results discribed in 3) are changed considerably by controlling the open-communication variable.

Recently, it is emphasized importance of family. The new family organize including husband and wife are created by caused marriage, they organize new family including wife's home and husband's home. As a result, they may experience about conflict or peace between new family and previous family. The research of family mainly have been studied in the social science side. However, because researchers of social science deals with linguistic emotion status, there is no mathematical modeling for family relationship. In this paper, one of the nonlinear research for social subject, we modify love model of Romeo and Juliet. Then we propose novel family relationship model for parent-in-law and daughter (or son)-in- law relation. We also confirm chaotic behavior or nonlinear behavior by time series and phase portrait.
