Worldwide, cyst nematode(Heterodera glycines Ichinohe) is the most destructive pathogen of cultivated soybean. In the USA, current annual yield losses are estimated to be nearly a billion dollars. Crop losses are primarily reduced by the use of resistant cultivars. Nematode populations are variable and have adapted to reproduce on resistant cultivars over time because resistance primarily traces to two soybean accessions. It is important to use diverse resistance sources to develop new nematode resistant cultivars. Soybean PI 494182 is a recent introduction from Japan and found to be resistant to multiple nematode populations. It is yellow seeded and maturity group 0. We have determined inheritance of resistance in PI 494182 using $F_{2:3}$ families derived from cross PI 494182 X cv. Skylla. Skylla is a susceptible parent. Three nematode populations, races 1, 3, and 5, corresponding to HG types 2.5.7, 0, and 2.5.7 were used to bioassay 162 $F_{2:3}$ families in greenhouse experiments. Based on Chi-square tests, a two-gene model is proposed for resistance to race 1 and a three-gene model is proposed for conditioning resistance to both races 3 and 5. Correlation coefficient analysis indicated that some genes conditioning resistance to races 1, 3, and 5 are shared or closely linked with each other. These results will be useful to soybean breeders for developing soybean cultivars for broad resistance to nematodes.

This study was carried out to find relationships of genetic distance and heterosis expression degree in the developed CNU waxy corn lines. The used material were developed in Corn Breeding Laboratory, Coll. of Agri. & Life Sci., CNU. Total 10 primers used for SSR maker analysis. In genetic distance, the used lines divided into four groups; A group has two lines, B group has one line, C group has ten lines and D group has eleven lines, respectively. Among used lines, CNU427 and CNU588 were very closed as a 74, while CNU451 and CNU429 were remote as a 40 inbred coefficient, respectively. While heterosis degree were very variable not only hybrids but also cross parents. Average heterosis of most cross-parent was high in plant height, ear height, flowering day and ear length. Especially, CNU H09-23 hybrid was high as 79.4% than other hybrids. Here, we gained the fact has closely relationship between genetic distance and heterosis.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the seven-hour sexuality education program for senior high school girl students and apply it to them to find out how this program affects their sex-related knowledge, sexual attitudes, and the self-efficacy of sexual behavior practice. The ultimate goal of this study is that high school girl students are to prevent unwanted pregnancy, STD and AIDS, after attending this sexuality education program. A non-equivalent control group pretest-post test design was used for this study. The number of experimental group consisted of 80 girl students and the control group was composed of 80 girls, too. A total of 160 freshmen from two commercial girls' high schools were selected by a convenience sampling method. This study was carried out in commercial high schools located in Daejeon, Korea from July 15th to October 31st, 2002. To discover the need for sexuality education, the researcher surveyed with a pre-designed questionnaire to 160 girls from the two different commercial high schools. The sex education curriculum was developed on the basis of the need of high school girl students for sex education survey results and literature review and a teaching-learning planning model and health belief model. The experimental group was taught the sexuality education program for seven hours from October 19th to 23rd, 2002 and each period continued for 50 minutes. The SPSS(10.0) Windows statistics software was used to analyze the data, along with frequency, percentage, $X^2$-test, t-test, and paired t-test. The instruments' internal consistencies were tested by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The increment of sex-related knowledge score after seven hour sexuality education was significantly higher in experimental group (t=-10.88, p=.000). 2. The increment of sex-related attitude score after seven hour sexuality education was significantly higher in experimental group (t=-2.67, p=.009). 3. The increment of the practice of self-efficacy of sexual behavior score after seven hour sexuality education was significantly higher in experimental group(t=-4.95, p=.000). In conclusion, sexuality education programs based on high girl students' educational desire, characteristics of development, a teaching learning planning model, a health belief model were effective to improve sex-related knowledge, sexual attitudes and the self-efficacy of sexual behavior practice of commercial high school girl students. This result can contribute to expand the school nurse's role in the sex education area and to develop theory-based school health nursing.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify cell phone addiction in school-age children and factors influencing addiction. Methods: The participants were 163 parents of elementary school students in the 1st to 4th grades. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires completed by the parents, and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 19.0 IBM program. Results: Of the children, 86.5% were reported as being average users, 9.2%, at risk users, and 4.3%, at high risk users. Cell phone addiction in the children was significantly different according to games played by the children and parents' monthly income. Significant factors influencing cell phone addiction in the children were children's self-control, games played by the children, parents' cell phone addiction and parental control for children's cell phone use, explaining 24% of variance in cell phone addiction. Conclusion: The findings indicate that cell phone addiction in school-age children is influenced by parent-related factors as well as personal factors. Therefore approaches to education programs on cell phone use in school-age children should include parent-related factors as well as personal factors of the children.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to confirm the relationship between dietary self-efficacy, physical self-efficacy, and parental rearing attitudes considering obese children from the vulnerable class that utilized Community Child Care (CCC) centers. Methods In this study, sampling was conducted and 126 children from the vulnerable class who visited 11 regional children's centers located in A city, K province were chosen. The collected data was analyzed using t-test and ANOVA using the SPSS Window 22.0. The Pearson's Correlation coefficient was determined through multiple regression analysis. Results Obesity factors of vulnerable children included dietary efficacy, parents' parenting attitude, family type, single-parent family, parental obesity. Parental obesity held the greatest explanatory power of these variables, as 32% of the vulnerable children had at least one obese parent. Conclusion It is suggested that it is necessary to develop a nursing intervention strategy in which children and parents can participate in consideration of the environmental factors, such as parental attitude and family type of vulnerable children visiting Community Child Care (CCC) centers in the future.
Calibration gas mixtures were prepared using dynamic volumetric method according to ISO 6145-5 and the uncertainty was evaluated. Ten identical capillaries with 0.25 mm in inner diameter and 50 cm in length were applied in this system. Dilution ratio of parent gas was determined by the number of capillaries that passes parent gas and that passes balance gas through. Capillaries were made of Teflon which had good chemical stability against adsorption of gaseous substances. Mechanical valves were introduced in this system in order to minimize the thermal effect of solenoid valves. Concentration of prepared gases were compared with master grade standard gases in cylinders made by RiGAS Co. and calibration of the instrument were completed using comparison method according to ISO 6143. Experimental results showed that the coefficient of variance of diluted oxygen standard gases showed less then 0.2% in most dilution range, that of diluted hydrogen sulfide standard gases showed less then 1.0%. Therefore, it is proven that the standard gases prepared by this system are appropriate to be used as a calibration standards in ambient monitoring, etc.
A total of 129 surface(upto 30 cm depth) soil samples were selected from the profile samples collected during reconnaissance soil survey in 1967, for the determination of phosphorus absorption co-efficient. The distribution range for each soil association has been established. The physicochemical factors affecting the phosphorus absorption coefficient have also been examined. The following general conclusions can be drown: 1. In general, the phosphorus absorption coefficient of the soil association of presently arable land are lower than the soils which are not in cultivation. 2. The higher the cation exchange capacity of soils, the higher is the phosphorus absorption coefficient. The factors governing phosphorus absorption coefficient in various soil associations are as follows: Parent Material Soil Association Governing Factor Fluvio marine Low Humic Gley Fluvio marine Alluvial Complex Narrow valley Siliceo mafic materials Red-yellow podzolic Redish Siliceo mafic materials Brown Lateritic Clay content Siliceous crystalline materials Lithosols C.E.C. & Clay content Alluvium Low Humic Alluvium Gley Alluvial Organic matter Siliceous crystalline materials Red-Yellow Podzolic Organic matter and clay content 4. The relation between phosphorus absorption coefficient determined by $(NH_4)_2HPO_4(y)$ and by the P 700 ppm $NaH_2PO_4(x)$ is $Y=2.716X+37(r=0.96^{**})$ which shows highly significant positive correlation and linear regression.
The purpose of the study was to test the reliability and validity of the Korean version of Children's Health Locus of Control Scale (CHLC), an instrument designed to measure health locus of control in children aged 7 to 12. The scale was administered to 467 children in grades 4 to 6, enrolled in 2 elementary schools located in city. The mean age of the subject was 10.03 (SD=1.33). The findings were as follows: 1. Cronbach alpha coefficient for internal consistency was .69 for the total, and .67, .65, and .56 on the respective subscales. 2. Construct validity was supported through factorial isolation of three theory consistent subscales : internal, chance, and powerful others. Two items did not fit well with the originally developed subscale. The total percent of varience explained by 3 factors was 34.5%. The result of the factor analysis according to Kaiser's criterion revealed that the scale was consisted of 5 factors. But, The items of the subscales were rather inconsistent with the dimensions of the locus of control concept. 3. There were significant differences according to parent's educational level and occupation, and birth order on the scores of the CHLC. There were no significant differences according to grade level and sex. 4. The score of the CHLC was significantly correlated with the self concept of the children(r=.14, p<.001). The result indicated that the Korean version of Children's Health Locus of Control Scale was valid and reliable in measuring health locus of control concept in children, even though luther research is required to reconfirm and increase the reliability of the instrument. CHLC could be used for study explaining the health related behavior of the children and research project related to health education program.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of adolescent's family function, impulsive behavior, stress on the bullying types.
