In this paper, a group delay time controller (GDTC) is proposed based on a reflection topology employing a parallel resonator as the reflection termination. The design equations of the proposed GDTC have been derived and validated by simulation and experimental results. The group delay time can be varied by varying the capacitance and inductance at an operating frequency. To show the validity of the proposed circuit, an experiment was performed for a wideband code division multiple access downlink band operating at 2.11 GHz to 2.17 GHz. According to the experiment, a group delay time variation of $3{\pm}0.17$ ns over bandwidth of 60 MHz with excellent flatness is obtained.

The characteristics of microwave reflection in the media of cold gaseous plasma is analysed to various external magnetic flux density. The DC discharge plasma is generated in the rectangular waveguide which contains two electrodes and helium gas at the pressure of 10-2mm Hg. The reflected and transmitted power of microwave is measured when the electric field is parallel to, and perpendicular to the external magnetic field. It shows that the reflected power is increased as the magnetic flux density is increased in the parallel case, but the maximum value of the reflected power is occured at the cyclotron resonance (3120 Gauss) in the perpendicular case.

This paper presents a new power plane design method incorporating a single geometry derived from a unit cell of photonic bandgap(PBG) structure. This method yields constantly wide suppression of parallel plate resonances from 0.9 GHz to 4.2 GHz and is very efficient to eliminate PCB resonances in a specified frequency region to provide effective suppression of simultaneous switching noise(SSN). It is shown that with only two cells the propagation of unwanted high frequency signals is effectively suppressed, while it could provide continuous return signal path. The measured results agree very well with theoretically predicted ones, and confirm that proposed method is effective for reducing EMI, with measured near-field distribution. The proposed topology is suitable for design of high speed digital system.
We have investigated the quasi-two-dimensional magnetism for the layered transition metal compound (C/sub n/H/sub 2n+1/NH/sub 3/)/sub 2/CuCl/sub 4/ (n=10, 14) in the high temperature regions by means of EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) and SQUID measurements. As a result, the magnetic transitions were reflected in the EPR linewidths and the magnetic suceptibilities in a sensitive manner. Fluctuations of the magnetic susceptibility and a similar variation of the .DELTA. g =(g/sub .parallel. -/g/sub .perp. /)g/sub .parallel. / value were also observed around the structural phase transition temperatures.
Sapphire resonators with $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}$ (YBCO) endplates have provided a way to realize extremely high quality factor due to the extremely low dielectric loss of sapphire and conductive loss of YBCO films, which enables to measure the low surface resistance of superconductor films at microwave frequencies. We present microwave properties of HTS sapphire resonators designed for measuring the surface resistance of HTS films at millimeter-wave frequencies by using the two-resonance mode dielectric resonator method. Despite enhanced surface resistance ($R_S$) of YBCO films due to the quadratic frequency dependence of the $R_S$, the unloaded quality factor ($Q_0$) of the $TE_{021}$ mode sapphire resonator still appears to be well above $1\;{\times}\;10^6$ at a mm-wave frequency of 38 GHz at 10 K. However, it appears that the $TE_{012}$ mode $Q_0$ is unexpectedly low despite that the corresponding resonance peak looks uncoupled with parasitic modes. We discuss possible reasons for the unexpected results using the surface resistance at the $TE_{021}$, $TE_{012}$, and $TE_{011}$ mode frequencies.

We present a $3-{\underline{P}}RS$ compliant parallel manipulator actuated by PZTs. The motion ranges are $400-{\mu}m$ translation to the z-direction and 5.7-mrad rotation about any axis on the x-y plane. A mechanical amplifier whose advantage is approximately 5.5 is designed and integrated with flexure revolute and spherical joints in a monolithic way. We evaluated the performance of the system: kinematic and dynamic characteristics. In kinematic point of view, the flexures play the roles of conventional mechanism but any nonlinearity such as dead-zone and backlash, which make it possible to achieve the steady-state resolution less than $0.1{\mu}m$. The system shows resonance near 86 Hz with high magnitude and, therefore, poor transient response. But the settling is faster when the flexures are strained higher.

This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.

This paper focuses on the vibration analysis of planar cable-driven parallel robots on their configurations. Despite of many advantages of the cable robots, elasticity of the cables may cause the vibration at the existence of external disturbance, resulting in deterioration of positioning accuracy. According to the vibration theory, having high first order natural frequency can prevent resonance with low frequency disturbance from the surrounding environment. A series of simulations showed that choosing frame / end-effector shape and cable connection method affects robots' natural frequency. For the precise simulation, the cables are modeled as linear springs and axial vibration of cables is mainly considered. Aspect ratios of the frame and end-effector are defined as non-dimensional parameters while their areas are fixed. It was shown that vibration analysis guides to design a planar cable robot in terms of high capacity to reduce vibration.

Objective : We report on the technical feasibility and limitations of the transmanubrial approach for cervicothoracic junction (CTJ) lesions and emphasize the advantage of bisecting the upper part of the manubrium in an inverted Y-shape. Methods : Thirteen patients who underwent the fourteen transmanubrial approach for various CTJ lesions were enrolled during 2005-2014. For the evaluation of the accessibility for the CTJ lesion, we analyzed the two parallel line defined as a straight line parallel to the inferior and superior plateau of the upper and lower healthy vertebrae, the angle of the two parallel lines and the distance from the sternal notch to lines at the sternum on preoperative magnetic resonance images. Surgical limitations and perspectives, as well as postoperative clinical outcomes were evaluated retrospectively. Results : The CTJ lesions were six metastases, three primary bone tumors, two herniated discs, and one each of a traumatic dislocation with syrinx formation and tuberculous spondylitis and ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. If two parallel lines pass below the sternal notch, the manubriotomy should be inevitably performed. The mean preoperative Visual analogue scale score was 8 (range, 5-10), which improved to 4 (range, 0-6) postoperatively. Seven cases showed an increase in Frankel score postoperatively. Conclusion : The spatial relationship between the sternal notch and the two parallel lines to the lesion was rational to determine the feasibility of manubriotomy. The transmanubrial approach for CTJ lesions can achieve favorable clinical outcomes by providing direct decompression of lesion and effective reconstruction.
The purpose of this study was to prospectively estimate the effectiveness of multi-transmit parallel technique in reduced FOV(Field of View) less than 26 cm. Homogeneity, SNR(signal to noise ratio) and acquisition time were measured and compared by setting FOV less than 26cm on the T1 and T2 weighted images using ACR phantom. The multi-transmit parallel technique resulted in significantly faster image acquisition by 46.8 % in T1 weighted images and 18.9% in T2 weighted images. The homogeneity and SNR values had no significant difference between pre and post application of the multi-transmit parallel technique. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the feasibility of multi-transmit parallel technique in FOV less than 26cm with a rapid acquisition and maintained image quality.
