  • The curved line in construction of railroad is inevitable. Also it needs a transition curve when the straight line connects to curved line. In this research, by establishing the reciprocal relations of inner, center and outer track, we will present the calculation method of construction-center line in normal double-track railroad which uses cubic parabolic type as a transition curve.

  • Based on Landau-type transformation, a Stefan problem with non-linear free boundary condition is transformed into a system consisting of parabolic equation and the ordinary differential equations. Semidiscrete approximations are constructed. Optimal orders of convergence of semidiscrete approximation in $L_2$, $H^1$ and $H^2$ normed spaces are derived.

  • In order to analyze the performance comparison of dish solar collector with mirror arrays and receiver shapes, the radiative heat flux distribution inside the cavity receiver is numerically investigated. The solar irradiation reflected by dish solar collector is traced using the Monte-Carlo method. Five different dish solar collectors and three different cavity receivers are considered. A parabolic-shaped perfect mirror of which diameter is 1.5 m is considered as a reference dish solar collector and four different arrays of twelve identical parabolic-shaped mirror facets of which diameter are 0.4 m are used. Their reflecting areas, which are $1.5\;m^2$, are the same. Three different cavity receiver shapes are dome, conical, and cylindrical. In addition, the radiative properties of the concentrating surfaces can vary the thermal performance of the cavity receiver so that variation of the surface reflectivity of each mirror is considered. Based on the calculation, the design information of dish solar collector for producing the electric power can be obtained. The results show that the dome type has the best performance in receiver shapes and the 2AND4 INLINE has the best performance in mirror arrays except perfect mirror.

Analysis of Stem Wave due to Long Breakwaters at the Entrance Channel

  • Recently, a new port reserves deep water depth for safe navigation and mooring, following the trend of larger ship building. Larger port facilities include long and huge breakwaters, and mainly adopt vertical type considering low construction cost. A vertical breakwater creates stem waves combining inclined incident waves and reflected waves, and this causes maneuvering difficulty to the passing vessels, and erosion of shoreline with additional damages to berthing facilities. Thus, in this study, the researchers have investigated the response of stem waves at the vertical breakwater near the entrance channel and applied numerical models, which are commonly used for the analysis of wave response at the harbor design. The basic equation composing models here adopted both the linear parabolic approximation adding the nonlinear dispersion relationship and nonlinear parabolic approximation adding a linear dispersion relationship. To analyze the applicability of both models, the research compared the numerical results with the existing hydraulic model results. The gap of serial breakwaters and aligned angles caused more complicated stem wave generation and secondary stem wave was found through the breakwater gap. Those analyzed results should be applied to ship handling simulation studies at the approaching channels, along with the mooring test.

이산성 연속형 최적성 규준을 이용한 PPC 구조의 최적설계프로그램 개발 (Development of Optimum Design Program for PPC Structures using DCOC)

  • 본 논문에서는 이산성 연속형 최적성규준방법을 이용하여 다지간 부분프리스트레스트 콘크리트보의 최적설계 알고리즘을 유도하였고, 최적설계프로그램을 개발하였다. 목적함수로서 건설 경비는 콘크리트 경비, 긴장재 경비, 철근 경비, 그리고 거푸집 경비를 포함하였으며 이를 최소화하였다. 설계제약조건으로는 시방서상의 최대처짐제약, 휨 및 전단강도제약, 연성제약 그리고 설계변수에 대한 상.하한계제약을 고려하였다. Kuhn-Tucker 필요조건을 이용하여 최적성규준을 설계변수의 항으로 명시적으로 유도하였으며, 이때 설계변수로는 보의 유효깊이, 긴장재의 편심거리 그리고 철근비를 취하였다. 긴장재의 형상은 포물선함수로 고려하였으며, 구조물 자중의 영향은 긴장력에 의한 이차효과와 마찬가지로 실제시스템의 평형방정식에서 고려하였다. 설계변수들의 개선을 위한 반복과정과 컴퓨터프로그램을 개발하였으며, 수치예를 들어 개발된 기법의 응용성 그리고 효율성을 보였다.

반사경 배치 및 흡수기 형상에 따른 접시형 태양열 집열기의 열손실 해석 (Analysis of Heat Loss with Mirror Array and Receiver Shapes on the Dish Solar Collector)

  • The radiative heat loss from a receiver of a dish solar collector is numerically investigated. The dish solar collector considered in this paper consists of a receiver and multi-faceted mirrors. In order to investigate the performance comparison of dish solar collectors, six different mirror arrays and four different receivers are considered. A parabolic- shaped perfect mirror of which diameter is 1.40 m is considered as the reference for the mirror arrays. The other mirror arrays which consist of twelve identical parabolic-shaped mirror facets of which diameter are 0.405 m are suggested for comparison. Their reflecting areas, which are 1.545 $m^{2}$, are the same. Four different receiver shapes are a conical, a dome, a cylindrical, and a unicorn type. The radiative properties of the mirror surfaces and the receiver surfaces may vary the thermal performance of the dish solar collector so that various surface properties are considered. In order to calculate the radiative heat loss in the receiver, two kinds of methods are used. The Net Radiation Method that is based on the radiation heat balance on the surface is used to calculate the radiation heat transfer rate from the inside surface of the receiver to the environment. The Monte-Carlo Method that is the statistical approach is adopted to predict the radiation heat transfer rate from the reflector to the receiver. The collector efficiency is defined as the results of the optical efficiency and the receiver efficiency. Based on the calculation, the unicorn type has the best performance in receiver shapes and the STAR has the best performance in mirror arrays except the perfect mirror.

Stability analysis of transversely isotropic laminated Mindlin plates with piezoelectric layers using a Levy-type solution

  • In this paper, based on the first-order shear deformation plate theory, buckling analysis of piezoelectric coupled transversely isotropic rectangular plates is investigated. By assuming the transverse distribution of electric potential to be a combination of a parabolic and a linear function of thickness coordinate, the equilibrium equations for buckling analysis of plate with surface bonded piezoelectric layers are established. The Maxwell's equation and all boundary conditions including the conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate for closed and open circuited are satisfied. The analytical solution is obtained for Levy type of boundary conditions. The accurate buckling load of laminated plate is presented for both open and closed circuit conditions. From the numerical results it is found that, the critical buckling load for open circuit is more than that of closed circuit in all boundary and loading conditions. Furthermore, the critical buckling loads and the buckling mode number increase by increasing the thickness of piezoelectric layers for both open and closed circuit conditions.

열.유체 일반적 컴퓨터 프로그램의 연소과정 연구에의 응용 (An application of general-purpose computer program in heat transfer and fluid flow to combustion process)

  • 복잡한 연소과정의 예측을 위한 이론적인 연구는 Gosman, Spalding, Patankar등의 수치해석방 법을 이용하여 진행된 것들이 많다. 현재 이분야에 응용되는 일반적인 Program으로는 Boundary Layer Type의 방정식을 이용한 One-Dimensional Program (GENMIX 4, Revised GENMIX) 등이 있으나 Parabolic Type이므로 주방향에 수직된 방향으로 동일한 값이 2개 이상 존재할 수 있는 Elliptic현상을 설명하기에는 어려움이 있다. 그러므로 비록 기억용량(Computation Storage) 및 계산시간(Running Time)에 불리한 점이 있기는 하나 Elliptic상황을 해석해야만 할 경우가 있다. 본 해설은 Patankar의 Elliptic "SIMPLE" Program을 연소 해석과정에 이용되는 방법을 간단한 연소과정의 예로서 설명하는 것으로 연소과정의 연구보다도 Program의 응용성에 중점을 두었다. 따라서 실제의 물리적인 연소 mechanism에서 많은 가정을 도입하여 문제를 단순화 시켰으며 실제의 연소문제에 충분한 접근을 위해서는 turbulence-modeling과 radiation heat flux가 본 해설에 덧붙여져서 논의되어야 한다. 논의되어야 한다.

  • A concentrating solar collector of parabolic-cylindrical type is designed and constructed to provide a heat source of higher temperature for drying processes. Usually collectors of concentrating type require such peripheral auxiliary units as solar tracking system, heat medium circulation pump and temperature controller. However in this study, for simplification's sake in the maintenance of a collector system, it is intended to design a concentrating collector system which does not furnish these auxiliary units by adapting natural circulation system instead of foced circulation and by adjusting collector system to solar altitude manually and periodically. And based on the experimental data, a conceptual design for a heat sources of 50KWt thermal output is presented and discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 포물선 형상의 팽창부로 설계된 이차원 노즐(M=3)에 톱니 형태의 대칭 및 비대칭 파동 채널을 교대로 설치하여 원형 음속 노즐에서 발생하는 추력과의 추력편차를 측정함으로써, 두 파동 벽면 내에서 일어나는 조파저항의 공진현상을 실험적으로 확인하였다.
