In order to determine the proper treatment of the finished landfill, it is important to predict the trend and stability of the major sources of contaminant in the landfill. In this paper the fate of contaminant sources in the landfill is studied from various literatures by grouping the contaminants into waste, leachate, and landfill gas. One example site referred is Nanji landfill which is one of the representative finished landfills in our country and the trend of contaminant sources in this landfill at current stage is discussed.

The problem of trend change in the failure rate is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper we develop a test statistic for testing whether or not the failure rate changes its trend based on a complete sample. Monte Carlo simulations are conducted to investigate the speed of convergence of the proposed test statistic.

This paper describes the recent research and technical trend of power cable system. Compact sizing with long length and large capacity is the main trend of the power cable. From the manufacturing process to the monitoring of the underground power line, various new techniques are being developed for reliability and high quality such as in-line monitoring system, triple common extrusion, PD measurement system, new type completion test, etc.

In this paper we show that the peak of the type I error rate of the Oochran-Armitage trend test could be greater than the nominal level when $2\;{\times}\;C$ contingency tables obtained from two multinomial distributions are extremely unbalanced. This result justifies the use of the exact Cochran-Armitage trend test in extremely unbalanced $2\;{\times}\;C$ contingency tables.

The problem of trend change in the mean residual life is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper, a new test statistic for testing whether or not the mean residual life changes its trend is developed. It is assumed that neither the change point nor the proportion at which the trend change occurs is known. The asymptotic null distribution of test statistic is established and asymptotic critical values of the asymptotic null distribution is obtained. Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the proposed test with previously known tests.

This paper investigated spring/summer fabric trends of women's and analyzed the correlation between the fabric trends and finishing for 10 years (1995 S/S-2004 S/S). Fabric trend terms were selected from 5 fashion journals and were grouped by hierarchical cluster analysis using SPSS 12.0 statistical package. Also, finishing terms were selected and analyzed by frequency. The results showed that 13 representative fabric trend terms were clean, functional, lustrous, compact, rubbery, comfortable, chic, romantic, decorative, natural, fluid, textured, and ethnic trend. In terms of fabric finishing, 12 representative finishing were selected such as coating, calendaring, wrinkle finishing, decorative finishing, quilting, and washing. Finally, in respect of the analysis of fabric trends and finishing, washing and embroidery were used to represent ethnic trends and textured fabric was closely correlated wrinkle and decorative finishing. Fluid fabrics were expressed via wrinkle and coating and washing and wrinkle were used for natural feeling. Decorative fabric was expressed by embroidery and coating and decorative finishing were frequently used to show romantic and chic fabric. Also comfortable fabrics were correlated with easy care and rubbery, compact, lustrous, and clean fabrics were correlated with coating.

본 논문에서는 경향 양자화 기법을 적용하여 분절 특징 은닉 마코프 모델 (HMM: hidden Markov model)의 매개 변수 수를 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 분절 특징 HMM에서 사용하는 분절 특징, 즉 모수적 궤적을 위치 정보와 경향 정보로 분리한 후, 분리된 경향 정보를 경향 코드북을 이용하여 공유한다. 분절 특징에서 위치 정보는 특징의 기준 점을 나타내고, 경향 정보는 분절 특징의 변이를 의미하며 특징의 많은 부분을 차지하고 있다. 따라서 경향 정보가 공유될 수 있다면 분절 특징 HMM의 매개 변수 수를 줄일 수 있을 것이다. 실험 결과 제안된 방식이 기존의 시스템과 비슷한 성능을 보였으며 매개 변수 수를 줄이는 방안으로 고려될 수 있음을 보였다.

This paper explains the various digital satellite broadcasting service trend, especially IP based hybrid service approach of satellite broadcasters(BskyB, CanalSat, DirecTV, etc.). Also this paper introduces SkyLife IP hybrid business approach to achieve a strong leadership in Pay TV market and related IP convergence market in Korea.

This paper presented the development trend of UPS and SPS system has focused on large scale system and more convenient system to maintenance and management. In this paper, we proposed low price and high performance SPSs which can de voltage regulation, harmonic reduction, and capable capacity extension in power. These SPSs are composed by two SPSs in their functional structure, one is power control part including voltage regulation and instant voltage compensaton. The others part is web based monitoring and trend management part for more convenient to SPS operator.

General definition of data mining is the knowledge discovery or is to extract hidden necessary information from large databases. Its technique can be applied into decision making, prediction, and information analysis through analyzing of relationship and pattern among data. One of the most important work is to find association rules in data mining. The objective of this paper is to find customer's trend using association rule from analysis of database and the result can be used as fundamental data for CRM(Customer Relationship Management). This paper uses Apriori algorithm and FoodMart data in order to find association rules.
