  • Power inductor is usually used in the field of the power circuit of a cellular phone, TFT LCD module etc.. This paper presents the development process of Power Inductor Full Automation Winding/Welding System for TFT LCD. This process, the process algorithm, high precision welding current control, design of welding head, high speed, high precision feeding mechanism, and user interface process control program technologies are included.

  • Seam seal welding on the semi-conductor package is a process for sealing the packages of semiconductors, crystal parts, saw filters, oscillators with lid plate by seam welding. This paper present the development process of automatic seam seal welding system. In this process, the process algorithm, high precision welding current control, design of welding head, high speed and high precision feeding mechanism, user interface process control program technologies are included.

  • The depleting fishes resource and water pollution in coast has a decisive effect on the fish farm and fisheries. For solving these problems the fish farms are moving to the offshore. The fish farms in offshore have to design the strong mechanism as compared with cost's fish farm, and operate by the remote feeding system and monitoring system for safety and management.. This paper describes a remote feeding system for fish farms in offshore. The amount of feed is depending on temperature and fish weight. The fish farm temperature is changed extremely in offshore than on land side. This paper described that the feed amount is calculated automatically according to temperature and fish weight, and the remote feed system. The performance of remote feed system is tested with model.

Examination of Dust Trapping Mechanism in a Metal Fiber Filter-bed (금속 섬유 필터층을 이용한 미세 분진 집진 성능 관찰)

  • A metal fiber bed has seldom been applied to the practical filtration process despite its excellent mechanical and chemical stability. The filter-bed used in this work was highly porous with open structure, of which apparent porosity was 80 ∼ 90%. Although pressure loss across the filter-bed was very low, separation efficiency was found to be quite high. This paper focuses on the basic filtration mechanisms of a metal filter-bed and a thin ceramic filter from fly ash for reference. The experimental parameters were face velocity, dust loading and porosity of filter-bed. Pressure drop increased with increasing face velocity and dust feeding load for both filters. It also showed that dust particles deposited in the deep flow path, finally resulting in clogging the pore channels. It thereby indicates that the dominating mechanism of the metal filter-bed would be depth filtration. Meanwhile, the thin fly ash composite filters trapped the aerated dust mainly on the surface of the filter medium, so that the instantaneously formed dust layer might cause a steep increase of pressure drop across the filtration system.

  • Up to now, various continuous-processing systems are used in the various industrial applications such as textile machines, iron-manufacturing plants, paper-making machines, printing machines, and so on. In these applications, the tension forced on the products in the control volume can be changed according to the velocity difference between the feeding roll and the delivery roll.   • In general, the purpose of packaging fasteners is a series of management activities to maintain the condition at the time of production until they get delivered to the end user. An automatic packing system for fasteners is consisted of bucket conveyor, slide feeder, vision inspection system, box-magazine conveyor system and automatic packing machine. Also, the automatic packing machine is consisted of six modules including charging device, clamping/opening device, sealing/cutting device, feeding/air-shower device, supplying/adjusting device and device frame, etc. In this paper, we proposed an automatic packing mechanism of the one station concept for packing work of fastener objects where the continuous batch work is performed in a finite space. The proposed one-station packing mechanism has been optimized through mechanical, dynamical, structural and fluid analyses. And it had been manufactured as the prototype of automatic packing machine. The field test for validation of performance was performed directly at the production line of bolt and screw. In the field test, this packing machine showed an efficiency of about 4.5 times the manual operation. It also showed 30% reduction in the consumption of packing materials compared to the manual operation. This automatic packing machine for fastener objects will be commercialized soon.

  • Most of the recently developed robots are human friendly robots which imitate an animal or human such as entertainment robot, biomimetic robot and humanoid robot. Interest in these robots is increased because the social trend is focused on health, welfare, and graying. By these social backgrounds, robots become more human friendly and suitable or home or personal environment. The more biomimetic robots resemble living creature, the more human feels familiarity. Human feels close friendship not only when feeding a pet, but also when watching a pet having the food. Most of entertainment robots and pet robots use internal-type batteries and have a self-recharging function. Entertainment robots and pet robots with internal-type batteries are not able to operate during charging the battery. So far there have been a few robots that do not depend on an internal battery. However, they need a bulky energy conversion unit and a slug or foods as an energy source, which is not suitable for home or personal application. In this paper, we introduce a new biomimetic entertainment robot with autonomous eating functionality, called EPRO-1(Eating Pet RObot version 1). The EPRO-1 is able to eat a food (a small battery), by itself and evacuate. We describe the design concept of the autonomous eating mechanism of the EPRO-1, characteristics of sub-parts of the manufactured mechanism and its control system.

  • This study adopted the ultra precision machining system which was composed of an air bearing spindle, a granite bed, air pad and a linear feeding mechanism. It also applied the cutting experiment on the aluminum alloy. To evaluate the safety of high speed machining, we examined the surface roughness according to the changes of cutting speed and obtained the speed limit. This paper also studied the effect of cutting condition such as feed rates and depths of cut on the surface roughness within the speed limit. This provided practical information regarding ultra precision machining.

  • This paper addresses an oil supply enhancement device to resolve a shortage of oil supply or no oil supply at all encountered at low speed operation for a variable speed reciprocating compressor used for household refrigerators. The oil supply enhancement device comprises a moving cylinder attached to the lower end of crankshaft and two of fluid diodes, each one at the inlet and outlet of the cylinder. Up-and-down movement of the cylinder against the lower end of the crankshaft together with the functioning of the two fluid diodes produces net oil flow from oil reservoir to inside the crankshaft. The experiment on the test bench has shown that enough oil supply into the oil feeding hole cu be made by using this device even at low speed range. Some analytical study has also been carried out to under-stand its oil supply mechanism.

Unstable Phenomenon of High-Speed Rotating Circular Saws (고속회전 원형 톱의 불안정 현상)

  • This paper presents schematic process of identifying the principal cause to make the vibration problem of rotating circular saws. In the tandem pencil slat saw lines, feeding of cedar blocks is often stopped because excessive motro current is required in a saw motor. These events are called "kick-offs" in technical reports. Research on saw behavior at kick-offs is required to understand are reduce the frequency and severity of kick-offs events. This research aims at finding out the principal cause of kick-offs, and evloving design improvements for high cutting performance with fewer and less severe kick-offs. Measurements of critical speed, cutting force, cutting temeprature and dynamic displacements are carried out to observe the instability mechanism and also to obtain saw design parameters for the numerical analyses. And the numerical analyses involving FEM and multiple scale method are utilized to show the possibility of the principal cause.pal cause.
