This study focused on the heterogeneity of groups in single-person households, to identify how middle-aged single-person households is categorized by sub-groups and to come up with policy measures to overcome social exclusion by examining predictive factors for the type of social exclusion. Potential class analysis and multinomial logistic regression analysis were conducted on a total of 361 middle-aged single-person households using the 14th Korea Replication Panel data. The social exclusion index of these households was measured consisting of 10 six-dimensional indicators. The results showed that middle-aged single-person households had five different types: "non-exclusion"(29.6%), "health restriction"(14.3%), "interact restriction and middle-risk multiple-exclusion" (12.0%), "income and health exclusion"(14.1%), and "high-risk multiple-exclusion"(30.0%). More than 70% of the respondents experienced social exclusion, and most of the exclusion types were multiple exclusion. When examining the factors affecting each exclusion type, the 'subjective health level' was a common major predictor, and family interact, age and leisure activity satisfaction variables were significant predictors of the 'high-risk multiple exclusion type' and 'the interact restriction and middle-risk multiple-exclusion type'. Based on these results, a multidimensional intervention strategy is an effective measure to solve the social exclusion problem of middle-aged single-person households, and practical measures should be considered by strengthening 'health' and exchanges.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the moderating effect of social support on the effect of the use of social services by the elderly with disabilities on life satisfaction. To this end, the 15th data of the Korean Welfare Panel 2020 were used to verify the characteristics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis of variables related to life satisfaction. The SPSS WIN 25.0 program was used. The survey subjects extracted 684 elderly people with disabilities aged 65 or older, and the use of welfare services was divided into income Service, health Service, home welfare Service, and social participation Service, and the analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that the experience of using welfare services for the elderly with disabilities had a positive (+) effect on life satisfaction. Second, social support showed a moderating effect on the effect of using welfare services for the elderly with disabilities on life satisfaction. Through these results, the necessity of practical intervention measures and development of various programs in social welfare policies that can improve the quality of welfare services for the elderly with disabilities and increase life satisfaction through various social support was suggested.

This study used data from the 6rd and 12th year of the Korean Welfare Panel to evaluate the effects of the Personal Assistance Service(PAS) system on the labor market of PAS users' participation. For the purpose of this study, 64 program groups using the Korean PAS and 344 control groups not using the Korean PAS were selected using Caliper matching among the propensity score matching. A chi-square test was used for the difference in characteristics between groups, and a simple difference-in-differences (DID) model and a double-difference multiple regression analysis of DID were performed to estimate the effect of thepolicy before and after the Korean PAS. As a result of the study, it was found that statistically, PAS had no significant effect on the labor market. This is due to the low number of system users, resulting in low post-hoc power, incomplete matching and limited availability of PAS Assistants for Disabled People. Therefore, In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Personal Assistance Service(PAS) system, specialized services and systems that meet the needs of the disabled and household members should be implemented.
Purpose: Several studies have been conducted on the relationship between green tea intake and metabolic syndrome. However, compared to the studies carried out internationally, there is inadequate research on the relationship between domestic green tea consumption and metabolic syndrome. Therefore, in this study, the general characteristics of Koreans according to their green tea intake and its association with metabolic syndrome were examined. Methods: A total of 44,611 subjects were included in the study, and analysis was carried out using data from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) for Korean adults aged 40 or older. Green tea consumption was estimated using 106 verified food frequency questionnaires (FFQ). Metabolic syndrome was defined using the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III (NCEP-ATP III) parameters. After adjusting for confounding variables by performing a Cox regression analysis, the association between green tea consumption and metabolic syndrome was confirmed through the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: The average incidence of metabolic syndrome was 18.7% (20.8% in men and 17.8% in women). Compared to those who drank almost no green tea, in subject groups consuming more than one cup of green tea a day, the metabolic syndrome incidence was significantly reduced by 15% (HR, 0.85; 95% CI, 0.74-0.96; p trend = 0.0200) among men and by 19% (HR, 0.81; 95% CI, 0.73-0.90; p trend < 0.0001) among women. In addition, the biomarkers related to metabolic syndrome also tended to decrease overall in these groups. Conclusion: This study concluded that as the intake of green tea increased, the incidence of metabolic syndrome and related indicators decreased. Therefore, green tea intake is believed to have a positive effect on the prevention and management of the metabolic syndrome.
Typological theories of offending postulate that childhood-onset delinquents have a high likelihood of being serious and chronic offenders and that there are a distinct set of risk factors predicting early-onset antisocial behaviors. It is useful to empirically classify children into subgroups based on their deviant behaviors because it helps us to identify unique factors associated with each subgroup. Using the first two waves of the Korean Youth Panel Survey, Elementary School Data, this study aimed(a) to empirically classify 5th graders into latent delinquent subgroups, and (b) to examine the impact of individual, familiar, school, and peer factors on the latent delinquent classes. Latent class analysis yielded three latent classes based on 15 indicators of deviant behaviors - delinquent class, low-level delinquent class, & normative class. The results from multivariate multinomial logistic regression analyses revealed that being male, reporting low self-control, coming from poor family, high association with deviant peers, and being bullied increased the risk of being in the delinquent class. Moreover, low self-control, aggression, domestic violence, low level of attachment to teachers, and deviant peers independently increased the risk of being in the low-level delinquent class compared to the normative class. Based on the study findings, implications for practice as well as future studies were discussed.

This study examines the relationship between teacher-perceived teaching efficacy and happiness and teacher-infant interaction, and analyzes the effect of teaching efficacy and happiness on teacher-infant interaction. The purpose was to reveal that it was an important variable in the quality of action. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics analysis were conducted for the Korean Children's Panel 7th year (2014) data, and Pearson's moment-moment correlation coefficient was calculated for correlation analysis between variables. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influence of teachers' teaching efficacy and happiness on teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions. The research results were as follows. First, teachers' teaching efficacy, teacher happiness, teacher-infant, and infant-infant interactions were all found to have significant positive correlations. Second, teachers' teaching efficacy was found to have a significant effect on teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions, and the influence increased when teacher's happiness was added. Therefore, we need to come up with a plan to increase teachers' teaching efficacy and teacher happiness at the same time so that the quality of teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions can be meaningfully improved.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of children's academic stress on school adaptation and to verify whether ego-resilience plays a mediating role in the relationship between academic stress and school adaptation. Based on the data from the 12th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2019), the general characteristics of the main subjects and the mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis of the main variables were confirmed through basic statistical analysis, and correlation analysis was conducted between variables. In addition, to examine whether ego-resilience mediated the effect of academic stress on school adaptation, a three-step regression analysis was conducted following the procedure of Baron and Kenny. The results of this study were as follows. First, it was found that children's academic stress, school adaptation, and ego resilience were all significantly correlated. The higher the academic stress, the lower the ego-resilience and school adaptability. Second, it was confirmed that ego-resilience has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between children's academic stress and school adjustment. Ego resilience in the academic stress situation means that it acts as an important mediating factor to flexibly adapt to school life by objectively grasping and coping with the stress situation. Therefore, we need to recognize the need for flexible and resilient individual characteristics so that children can reduce academic stress and adapt well to school life, and seek active interest and intervention plans.
Disabled elderly faced with disability and the aged problems at the same time. So, this research creates two research questions and examines. First research question is how nine dimensions of daily life satisfaction according to gender difference. Second research question is how the factor of daily life satisfaction by gender difference. The data is sixty-five disabled elderly, 386 among Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED, 2008). The methods of analysis for identifying research questions is t-test and multiple linear regression. The result of analysis on first research question, the gender difference six dimensions among nine dimensions of daily life satisfaction come out statistically significant. And The result of analysis on second research question, come out statistically significant, too. Socioeconomic status: the lower class, physical condition: bad health, chronic disease is or not, family and other people's social supports, disability: serious turn out to be factors in common. It has been suggested social policies from the results of studies that the provision of health support policy and program, enlarge assistance on daily life, support system on serious disabled elderly. On the other hand, analysis showed that distinctive factors between disabled elderly man and woman was age and education level. In other words, disabled elderly woman come out into the open that the more grow old, the less daily life satisfaction low, while disabled elderly man appeared higher daily life satisfaction in case of junior and senior high school graduate than uneducated.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the transition of elderly's welfare service utilization and to examine the factors affecting their utilization as time passed. To solve these research questions, the behavioral model presented by Andersen and Newman(1973) was applied. Using Hallym Aging Panel data consisted of 3 waves from 2003 to 2007, autoregressive modeling and regression analysis were applied for research purposes. The results of this study were as follows; (1) The experiences of welfare service utilization were increasing gradually. The complimentary service for the aged was utilized generally, but leisure service and community service were not used in common. (2) Past experience of service affected service utilization in the following times. (3) The factors affecting older adult's service utilization were different among the types of services. Nonetheless, the factors affecting continuously during the periods were found: age as predisposing factor and area as enabling factor in the complimentary service; area and existence of spouse as enabling factor in leisure service; education as predisposing factor and service cognition as enabling factor in community service. Enabling factor has affected more consistently than other factors. The results showed that special attention should be paid to balanced regional arrangement for welfare resources and the public relation considering the elderly's intellectual level.
The purpose of the study was to find out the effects of women's gender role attitudes on depression. We also studied self-esteem and family life satisfaction as mediating factors on depression. The data was from the National Welfare Panel Study of 2009 and the analyses were conducted on 3,791 women and 3,467 men aged from 20 to 59. Independent samples t-test and stepwise multiple regression analyses show significant gender differences on depression and gender role attitudes. Women score higher than men in depression and gender role attitudes. Those who have higher traditional gender role attitudes manifest higher score on depression. We also found out that self-esteem and family life satisfaction are the mediating factors for women's depression. As a result, gender role attitudes demonstrate direct and indirect effects on depression through mediation of self-esteem and family life satisfaction. Clinical implications are discussed to consider women's gender role attitudes, their self-esteem and family life satisfaction while consulting with depressed women.
