A Report on the Collecting Status of the Prospective Clinical Data Included the Constitutional Prescription (전향적 체질치료 임상증례 수집현황에 대한 보고)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report on the collecting status of the prospective clinical data, that is designed to find clinical factors for determining the constitutional prescription.Methods We collected the prospective clinical data of 1208 subjects in the 10 oriental hospitals and 2 oriental clinic, from September 2012 to July 2015. Subjects were diagnosed and prescribed by the Sasang Constitution specialist. We counted the usage frequency of each constitutional herbal formula. Besides we check the main chief complaints on each constitutional herbal formula.Results & Conclusions In TE type, Yeoldahanso-tang, Cheongsimnyeonja-tang were used in high frequency. In SE type, Palmulgunja-tang, Gwakhyangjunggi-san were used in high frequency. In SY type, Hyeongbangjihwang-tang, Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang were used in high frequency. The both of high frequency-prescriptions in TE types were for the Interiorheat disease, expecially liver-heat lung-dry symptomatology. The main chief complaint of high frequency-prescriptions was fatigue in every constitution. We hope that the process of constitutional prescription would be standardized through the subsequent researches.

The Using Status and Effectiveness of Sasang Constitutional Herbal Prescription (사상체질 처방 활용 현황 및 유효 질환 조사)

  • 1. Objectives: We aimed to derive using status of Sasang Constitutional herbal prescription and good effective one in specific disease. 2. Methods: We sent Questionnaire to 463 oriental medical doctor listed Korea Sasang Constitutional medicine from 2009 years. 10 to 11 and got back 191 questionnaire, which consisted of sex, age, clinical duration, working type, using status and effectiveness of Sasang Constitutional herbal prescription. 3. Results: - Digestive tract disease was especially most effective field, and circulatory, the endocrine, dermatology, psychopathy, urogenital disease went in order in western disease. - Spleen disease was especially most effective field, and the heart and circulatory, neuropsychiatry, lung, liver, psychopathy, gynecology disease went in order in oriental medicine pathology. - Chungshimyenja-tang was effective to neuropsychiatry and heart disease in Taeeumin, Hyangsayangwi-tang to disease related digestive system, Palmulgunja-tang to gynecology disease in Soeumin, Dockhalgiwhang-tang to diet disorder, Yanggeuksanwha-tang to heart and psychologic disease in Soyangin. 4. Conclusions: Constitutional prescription effected on special pathological symptom support weaken organ, and these result will help to make treatment standard and support clinical study of constitutional medicine.

A Case Report of Korean Medical Treatment on Parkinsonism Patient Complaining of Motor Disorder and Aphonia (한방치료로 운동 기능장애와 실성증이 호전된 파킨슨증후군 환자 치험 1례)

  • ■Objectives This case study is to report the effectiveness of Korean medicine in Parkinsonism patient's treatment. ■Methods We used the acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, herbal medicine, especially Palmulgunja-tang to the Parkinsonism patient with motor disorder such as Postural Instability and Gait Difficulty(PIGD) and aphonia. Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS), analysis of gait pattern, voice dB and self-evaluation of speed and volume were used to assess the change of symptoms. ■Results ‌After treatment, the UPDRS score decreased in overall category and the walking pattern has improved. In addition, the improvement was observed in voice volume and in self assessment of the patient. ■Conclusion This case suggests the effect of Korean medical treatment on motor disorder and aphonia in Parkinsonism.

Two Case Reports of Facial Flushing of Women in Their Twenties Treated by Sasang Constitutional Medicine (사상방을 이용한 20대 여성 안면홍조 환자 치험 2례)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Sasang constitutional medicine and acupuncture on facial flushing of women in their twenties. Methods: Two patients who had facial flushing were treated with Sasang constitutional medicine and acupuncture. In the first case, the patient diagnosed with Taeeumin was treated by Chungpesagan-tang and Sa-Am Liver-sedating Acupuncture. In the second case, the patient diagnosed with Soeumin was treated by Palmulgunja-tang, Sa-Am Spleen-tonifying Acupuncture and Seungyangsungi-tang which is not belong to Sasang constitutional medicine. The progress of symptoms was evaluated by NRS, frequency of facial flushing, duration time of facial flushing, amount of sweating accompanied by facial flushing. Results: After treatment, the patients' symptoms of facial flushing were improved. Conclusions: These case studies show that Sasang constitutional medicine and acupuncture are effective for the patient in their twenties who had facial flushing.

A Clinical Case of an Unspecified Paralytic Ileus Patient Treated with Korean Medicine (상세불명의 마비성 장폐쇄 환자의 한의 치료 증례보고 1례)

  • Objectives: This study examined a clinical case of a paralytic ileus patient diagnosed with Soeumin. Methods: The patient was treated with herbal medicine (Hyangsayangwi-tang, Baekhaogunja-tang, Palmulgunja-tang), infusion solution treatments, acupuncture, moxibustion, and rehabilitative therapy. Their effects were evaluated using the visual analog scale (VAS). Results: After receiving Korean medical treatment for 38 days, the VAS score for dyspepsia was reduced from 8 to 2, the VAS score for nausea and vomiting was reduced from 8 to 2, and the VAS score for abdominal pain was reduced from 7 to less than 1. Conclusions: Korean medicine could be effective in relieving the symptoms of paralytic Ileus.
