The study was to find whether the educational program contributed to increase of knowledge and self-efficacy of the postpartal primiparas. This study aimed at improvement of the educational effect for postpartal primiparas. The Subjects were 34 primiparas who were admitted to the obstetric ward in a University hospital from November 15th to December 9th, 1999. The Subjects were those who had no labor pain at the admission time, had no complications during labor and delivery and, gave birth to a healthy baby. They were tested on knowledge and self-efficacy two times, one at the admission time and prior to discharge. After the first test nurses in a maternity ward taught them on postpartal care. Two tools were developed by authors based on literature review. The test tool fr knowledge of postpartal car consisted of 23 items. The test tool for self-efficacy of postpartal care consisted of 16 items. Analysis of demographic data were analyzed with calculation of percentage. Score differences between the first test and the second test were analyzed with paired t-test. The Spss (Win 8.0) program was used for data analysis. The results are as follows. 1. There were not significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to pre-educational knowledge. There were significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to post-educational knowledge : occupation(t=13.04, p=0.00), postpartal education(t=5.51, p=0.02). 2. There were not significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to pre-educational self-efficacy. There were significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to post-educational self-efficacy : antenatal education(t=5.53, p=0.02) 3. Primiparas' knowledge of postpartal care increased significantly after education(t=13.04, p=0.00). 4. Primiparas' self-efficacy of postpartal care increased significantly after education(t=5.51, p=0.02). 5. Correlation between knowledge and self-efficacy was r=.360(p=0.03). We suggest follow-up studies to find whether primiparas' self-efficacy will last after discharge or not.

The effects of positive psychology promoting programs for undergraduate nursing students were evaluated. The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design; data were collected between June 22 and September 4, 2019. The participants were 37 nursing students, who were assigned to an experimental group (n=18) and a control group (n=19) at two colleges in D and P city. The positive psychology-promoting program was provided for six weeks (12 sessions, 100~120 min.). The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, 𝑥2 test, repeated measure ANOVA, and paired t-test with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. After receiving the positive psychology-promoting program, a difference in optimism (F=16.74, p<.001), psychological well-being (F=14.69, p<.001), and stress-coping strategy (problem solving; F=4.35, p=.015, social support; F=3.87, p=.028) was observed between the experimental and control groups. The results indicate that the positive psychology-promoting program was effective in increasing optimism, psychological well-being, and stress coping strategy in undergraduate nursing students. These findings will contribute to the development of a program to improve the mental health of undergraduate nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of psychotic patient after applying anger management video and tea gathering program to psychotic patient. This study was an experimental research and used nonequivalent control-group pretest-posttest design. Study subjects were 16 patients for an experimental group and 16 for a control group-32 in total- who were psychotic patients hospitalized in a closed ward in H mental hospital. The measurement variable is an aggressiveness scale, and the effect of the program was measured once after the video program and once after eight tea gathering. Data Analysis methods were real number and percentage, average and standard deviation, χ2 test, t-test, paired t-test, and Repeated measure ANOVA. The aggression of an experiment group was significantly lower than the control group(F=14.38, p< .001). Aggressive sub-item, hostility (F=8.53, p< .001), anger (F=6.10, p=.004), verbal aggression(F=7.58, p< .001), physical aggression(F=13.92, p< .001) all of tte experiment group was significantly lower than control group. Based on these results, anger management programs can be used as basic data for anger control in psychotic patient or in various groups.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of pre-parent education program by grasping parent role recognition, educational needs and readiness of unmarried men and women. The subjects were 196 unmarried male and female students from K-do. Data were collected from November 1st to 20th, 2018, and analyzed using IBM SPSS WIN/21.0 to get frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, sheffe-test, paired t-test, and IPA matrix. The average score of recognition of social pre-parent role was $3.41{\pm}0.27$ (out of 5 points), educational needs was $3.48{\pm}0.41$ points (out of 4 points), and educational readiness was $2.65{\pm}0.57$ points (out of 4 points). educational needs being higher than educational readiness. Through IPA matrix analysis, the area to be strengthened was 'family relation or parent role', and 'self understanding' was the area to encourage putting effort into other evaluation attributes. The area where no further effort is needed and needs improvement in the future was 'spouse selection and marriage', and 'pregnancy and childbirth' and 'child rearing' were the areas to intensively improve. Therefore, there is a need for establishing a standardized strategy in the area A, which has high degree of readiness and needs. Also, it is necessary to take strategies and countermeasures to raise the readiness of area C with low degree of readiness and needs, rather than accepting it as an unnecessary area of further effort input.
Purpose: In this study a recreational combination gymnastics program was provided for women 75 years of age or older and the effects on physical fitness (grip strength, static balance, ability to do complex movement), depression, cognitive function and quality of life were examined. Methods: A quasi-experimental study employing a nonequivalent control group, pre-post design was conducted. Participants included 53 women elders whose cognitive function was within the normal range. The women were assigned to an experimental group (27) or a control group (26). The intervention was conducted twice a week for a period of 12 weeks. Chi-square test, t-test, paired t-test, Wilcoxon rank sum test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used for data analysis. Results: Following completion of the program, left grip strength (t=2.17, p=.035), right grip strength (t=2.04, p=.046), static balance (t=-2.18, p=.030), depression (z=-2.88, p=.004), cognitive function (t=3.96, p<.001), and quality of life (t=-3.19, p=.002) were significantly better in the experimental group. Conclusion: Findings from this study indicate that recreational combination gymnastics programs are effective in enhancing physical fitness, cognitive function, and quality of life and in decreasing depression for female elders and could therefore be regarded as positive programs for promotion of physical and mental health for older women.

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate DITI (Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging)'s potential for diagnosis and indicator of abdominal cold hypersensitivity treatment from the clinical case study. Methods: The patient was a 35-year-old woman who was suffered by general coldness, sweating and general pain. The patient was treated by Herb medicine, Acupuncture treatment, Moxa treatment and Physical Treatment. The progress of symptoms was evaluated by checking the change of VAS, and inspecting the DITI. We studied the statistical significance from the difference of DITI results before and after treatment by paired T-test using SPSS windows (version 12.0). Results: The general coldness, sweating and general pain of this patient have declined, especially the abdominal coldness improvement showing. As a results, the temperature of four abdominal sites(GV4,6,12,17) after treatment were statistically higher than those before treatment. With comparison of Indang, DITI difference of abdominal sites before and after treatment were statistically significant from paired T-tests. Conclusion: The results suggest that DITI can be used for the diagnosis and assessment of abdominal cold hypersensitivity treatment.
Background: Determination of inter-method differences between clinically available volumetry methods are essential for the clinical application of brain volumetry in a wider context. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the inter-method reliability and differences between the Siemens morphometry (SM) software and the NeuroQuant (NQ) software. Materials and Methods: MR images of 86 subjects with subjective or objective cognitive impairment were included in this retrospective study. For this study, 3D T1 volume images were obtained in all subjects using a 3T MR scanner (Skyra 3T, Siemens). Volumetric analysis of the 3D T1 volume images was performed using SM and NQ. To analyze the inter-method difference, correlation, and reliability, we used the paired t-test, Bland-Altman plot, Pearson's correlation coefficient, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and effect size (ES) using the MedCalc and SPSS software. Results: SM and NQ showed excellent reliability for cortical gray matter, cerebral white matter, and cerebrospinal fluid; and good reliability for intracranial volume, whole brain volume, both thalami, and both hippocampi. In contrast, poor reliability was observed for both basal ganglia including the caudate nucleus, putamen, and pallidum. Paired comparison revealed that while the mean volume of the right hippocampus was not different between the two software, the mean difference in the left hippocampus volume between the two methods was 0.17 ml (P < 0.001). The other brain regions showed significant differences in terms of measured volumes between the two software. Conclusion: SM and NQ provided good-to-excellent reliability in evaluating most brain structures, except for the basal ganglia in patients with cognitive impairment. Researchers and clinicians should be aware of the potential differences in the measured volumes when using these two different software interchangeably.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop an educational program on nursing records especially focused on legal issues, and to test the effects of the educational program on nurses' knowledge, performance, and behavior. Methods: A textbook on legal issue-focused nursing records and an instrument with 36 items rated on a 5-point scale (1-5) for measuring the nurses' charting-related performance and behavior were developed from November 2007 through March 2008. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed to test the effects of the education program. Knowledge was self-reported by the Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale, while performance and behavior were measured by their nurse managers. The pretest and posttest were conducted from March through May in 2008. A total of 226 Korean nurses participated in this study. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square, paired t-test, Spearman's coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Nurses who received the intervention showed greater levels of knowledge (t=10.28, p<.001), performance (t=2.53, p=.013), and behavior scores (t=3.07, p=.002) than those of the control group. The factors influencing the improvement of knowledge were 'job attitude' (t=-3.32, p=.001) and 'career in present unit' (t=2.95, p=.004). The factor influencing the improvement of performance was 'career in present unit' (t=-3.39, p=.001). The factor influencing the improvement of behavior was 'job attitude' (t=-3.46, p=.001). Conclusion: The educational program on legal issue-focused nursing records was effective in improving nurse charting-related knowledge, performance, and behavior.
