Among processes to manufacture parts from footwear materials like upper leathers, one of the most essential processes is the cutting one optimally arranging lots of parts on raw footwear materials and cutting. A new nesting strategy was proposed for the 2-dimensional part layout by using a two-stage approach, where which can be effectively used for water jet cutting. In the initial layout stage, a SOAL(Self-Organization Assisted Layout) based on the combination of FCM(Fuzzy C-Means) and SOM was adopted. In the layout improvement stage, SA(Simulated Annealing) based approach was adopted for a finer layout. The proposed approach saves much CPU time through a two-stage approach scheme, while other annealing-based algorithm so far reported fur a nesting problem are computationally expensive. The proposed nesting approach uses the stochastic process, and has a much higher possibility to obtain a global solution than the deterministic searching technique. We developed the automatic nesting software of NST(ver.1.1) software for footwear industry by implementing of these proposed algorithms. The NST software was applied by the optimized automatic arrangement algorithm to cut without the loss of leathers. if possible, after detecting damage areas. Also, NST software can consider about several features in not only natural loathers but artificial ones. Lastly, the NST software can reduce a required time to implement generation of NC code. cutting time, and waste of raw materials because the NST software automatically performs parts arrangement, cutting paths generation and finally NC code generation, which are needed much effect and time to generate them manually.
Wind loading is one of important loadings that should be considered in the design of large hyperbolic natural-draught cooling towers. Both external and internal surfaces of cooling tower are under the action of wind loading for cooling circulating water. In the previous studies, the wind loads on the external surface attracted concernedly attention, while the study on the internal surface was relatively ware. In the present study, the wind pressure on the internal surface of a 220 m high cooling tower is measured through wind tunnel testing, and the effect of ventilation rate of the packing layer on internal pressure is a major concern. The characteristics of internal wind pressure distribution and its effect on wind-induced responses calculated by finite element method are investigated. The results indicate that the wind loading on internal surface of the cooling tower behaves remarkable three-dimensional effect, and the pressure coefficient varies along both of height and circumferential directions. The non-uniformity is particularly strong during the construction stage. Analysis results of the effect of internal pressure on wind-induced responses show that the size and distribution characteristics of internal pressure will have some influence on wind-induced response, however, the outer pressure plays a dominant role in the wind-induced response of cooling tower, and the contribution of internal pressure to the response is small.

Deep Learning as a Service (DLaaS), utilizing the cloud-based deep neural network models to provide customer prediction services, has been widely deployed on mobile cloud computing (MCC). Such services raise privacy concerns since customers need to send private data to untrusted service providers. In this paper, we devote ourselves to building an efficient protocol to classify users' images using the convolutional neural network (CNN) model trained and held by the server, while keeping both parties' data secure. Most previous solutions commonly employ homomorphic encryption schemes based on Ring Learning with Errors (RLWE) hardness or two-party secure computation protocols to achieve it. However, they have limitations on large communication overheads and costs in MCC. To address this issue, we present LeHE4SCNN, a scalable privacy-preserving and communication-efficient framework for CNN-based DLaaS. Firstly, we design a novel low-expansion rate homomorphic encryption scheme with packing and unpacking methods (LeHE). It supports fast homomorphic operations such as vector-matrix multiplication and addition. Then we propose a secure prediction framework for CNN. It employs the LeHE scheme to compute linear layers while exploiting the data shuffling technique to perform non-linear operations. Finally, we implement and evaluate LeHE4SCNN with various CNN models on a real-world dataset. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the LeHE4SCNN framework in terms of response time, usage cost, and communication overhead compared to the state-of-the-art methods in the mobile cloud computing environment.

Background: A significant proportion of cardiac surgery intensive care unit (CSICU) patients require long-term ventilation, necessitating tracheostomy placement. The goal of this study was to evaluate the long-term postoperative outcomes and complications associated with percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) in CSICU patients. Methods: All patients undergoing PDT after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular operations in the CSICU between January 1, 2013 and January 1, 2021 were identified. They were evaluated for mortality, decannulation time, and complications including bleeding, infection, and need for surgical intervention. Multivariable regression models were used to identify predictors of early decannulation and the complication rate. Results: Ninety-three patients were identified for this study (70 [75.3%] male and 23 [24.7%] female). Furthermore, 18.3% of patients had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), 21.5% had history of stroke, 7.5% had end-stage renal disease, 33.3% had diabetes, and 59.1% were current smokers. The mean time from PDT to decannulation was 39 days. Roughly one-fifth (20.4%) of patients were on dual antiplatelet therapy and 81.7% had anticoagulation restarted 8 hours post-tracheostomy. Eight complications were noted, including 5 instances of bleeding requiring packing and 1 case of mediastinitis. There were no significant predictors of decannulation prior to discharge. Only COPD was identified as a negative predictor of decannulation at any point in time (hazard ratio, 0.28; 95% confidence interval, 0.08-0.95; p=0.04). Conclusion: Percutaneous tracheostomy is a safe and viable alternative to surgical tracheostomy in cardiac surgery ICU patients. Patients who undergo PDT have a relatively short duration of tracheostomy and do not have major post-procedural complications.
This article provides comprehensive guidance on the maintenance, cleaning, regeneration, and storage of silica-based HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) columns. The general considerations emphasize the importance of using in-line filters and guard cartridges to protect columns from blockage and irreversible sample adsorption. While these measures help, contamination by strongly adsorbed sample components can still occur over time, leading to an increase in back pressure, loss of efficiency, and other issues. To maximize column lifetime, especially with UHPLC (Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography) columns, it is advisable to use ultra-pure solvents, freshly prepared aqueous mobile phases, and to filter all samples, standards, and mobile phases. Additionally, an in-line filter system and sample clean-up on dirty samples are recommended. However, in cases of irreversible compound adsorption or column voiding, regeneration may not be possible. The document also provides specific recommendations for column cleaning procedures, including the flushing procedures for various types of columns such as reversed phase, unbonded silica, bonded normal phase, anion exchange, cation exchange, and size exclusion columns for proteins. The flushing procedures involve using specific solvents in a series to clean and regenerate the columns. It is emphasized that the flow rate during flushing should not exceed the specified limit for the particular column, and the last solvent used should be compatible with the mobile phase. Furthermore, the article outlines the storage conditions for silica based HPLC columns, highlighting the impact of storage conditions on the column's lifetime. It is recommended to flush all buffers, salts, and ion-pairing reagents from the column before storage. The storage solvent should ideally match the one used in the initial column test chromatogram provided by the manufacturer, and column end plugs should be fitted to prevent solvent evaporation and drying out of the packing bed.
The aim of this study was investigated long distance export condition of paprika from Korea to Canada, and evaluated the effect of non-perforated breathable films on the storability of paprika during MA storage in the simulated long distance export condition. The long distance export condition of paprika from Korea to Canada was $7{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and RH 90% during shipping for 20 days, and then the temperature of that was increased to $13^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours during transferring from refrigerated container to storage room in Canada, and decreased $3{\sim}4^{\circ}C$ for 3 days before distributing to local markets. The temperature and relative humidity of local markets was $16^{\circ}C$ and 60%, respectively. The packing material treatments were non-packing, as control, perforated film (6 mm diameter hole, $18holes/m^2$), and 3 kind of laser treated non-perforated films (oxygen transmission rate was 5,000, 20,000 and 100,000 $cc/m^2{\cdot}day{\cdot}atm$). Under the simulated long distance export condition; $7^{\circ}C$ and RH 90% for 15 days and then $20^{\circ}C$ and RH 55% for 7 days, the fresh weight loss of paprika was less than 1% in 3 kind of laser treated non-perforated film treatments but was more than 4% in control and perforated film treatment that showed severe deterioration of visual quality after 20 days of storage. The atmosphere of paprika packages was changed 5% oxygen and 15% carbon dioxide in 5,000 $cc/m^2{\cdot}day{\cdot}atm$ treatment, and 16% oxygen and 4~5% carbon dioxide in 20,000 $cc/m^2{\cdot}day{\cdot}atm$ treatment during room temperature storage after cold storage for 15 days. A carbon dioxide concentration of these 2 treatments was exceeded the optimal MA and CA condition. There was no significant difference in ethylene concentration among 3 kind of laser treated non-perforated film treatments. A paprika packed with 100,000 $cc/m^2{\cdot}day{\cdot}atm$ non-perforated film showed the highest visual quality under the simulated long distance export condition. However, the firmness and soluble solids did not show any significant difference among 3 kind of laser treated non-perforated film treatments. Therefore, we may suggest that 100,000 $cc/m^2{\cdot}day{\cdot}atm$ laser treated non-perforated film was the proper film for MAP of paprika under long distance export condition that was $7{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and RH 90% for 15 days, and then $20^{\circ}C$ and RH 55% for 7 days.

Background: The purpose of improving the quality of oriental medicinal herbs is to contribute to the improvement of the income of farm. The present study investigated the effect of reasonable drying methods, different storage conditions and packageing materials on quality and stability of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and for developing GAP (good agricultural practice) guide book. Methods and Results: Three methods of drying Scutellaria baicalensis roots produced over two years were used to estimate loss rate owing to drying, storage, and packaging. The methods of drying were categorized into natural drying (36 - 60 h by sunshine), drying with heat dryer (2 - 10 h), or drying with gas bulk dryer (2 - 10 h). After cleaning, and initial drying for a few days under controlled temperature conditions, the second phase of drying was carried out at 35, 45 and $55^{\circ}C$. Changes in hunter color values and quality under the two studied storage treatments (at $20^{\circ}C$ indoors and at $4^{\circ}C$ in a refigerator) were evaluated. Storage period for 60, 120, and 180 days in three packaging materials, PE (polyethylene package), PP (polypropylene gunnysack), and WP (watertight packing paper) were studied. Conclusions: Initial cleaning, reasonable gas drying and hot air drying, and drying in an oven at 35 and $45^{\circ}C$ after cutting the roots resulted in the lowest loss rates in S. Baicalensis root. Hunter color valuse indicated that stroage of dry roots at room temperature was better than PP packaging, and that cold stroage was better than PE packaging for long-term stability.
This study investigated the changes in the quality of minimally processed sliced Deodeok (Codonopsis lanceolata) during storage at $7^{\circ}C$ in relation to vacuum packing using PE film after the various surface washing treatments. The surface washing treatments resulted in approximately 1~2 log CFU/g reduction of microbial load in the early storage day. After 20 days, the weight loss rate, deterioration rate, hardness, color, total microorganism levels and the coliform count of deodeok washed by ultrasonic wave water was deteriorated rapidly like the control. When measured by the fresh-cut deodeok surface using the video microscope system, washing with chlorine water and electrolyzed water didn't seem to make perceivable quality deterioration during the 10 days at $7^{\circ}C$. The hardness and color maintenance of the product vacuum packaged using PE film after washing with electrolyzed water, was better than that of other treatments.

We investigated that electron beam irradiation is the effective method to control the sprouting of sweetpotato roots without changing of food quality characteristics. In 12 and $25^{\circ}C$ storage after electron beam irradiation, all control samples were sprouted from 6 and 4 weeks after storage, respectively. The sprouting rate of control increased with time and the rate reached to 11.2-12.4 and 70.5-74.2% at 8 weeks after 12 and $25^{\circ}C$ storage. Also, the sprouting of middle and below positioning sweetpotato roots at 12 and $25^{\circ}C$ storage after irradiation reached to 8.6-11.3 and 42.7-48.7% after a storage period of 8 weeks, respectively. However, the sprouting of all sweetpotato roots stored at $4^{\circ}C$ and upper (0-7 cm) positioning samples of box stored at 12 and $25^{\circ}C$ with electron beam was completely inhibited due to increase peroxidase and indole acetic acid (IAA) oxidase activity. Also, all samples with electron beam such as hardness, pH, sugar content, weight loss, and vitamin C and dacarotene content did not differ from that of the control. Therefore, if electron beam will be irradiated to sweetpotato roots above 0.1 kGy before packing, it will effectively inhibit their sprouting stored at $25^{\circ}C$ without the change of food quality characteristics.
The post harvest treatment of barley had many hard work steps, such as drying, cleaning, and packing. This is a reason why farmer doesn't like to cultivate barley. This study was conducted to investigate the optimum post harvest management of bulk-harvested barley using rice processing complex (RPC). Bulk-harvested barley was stored to 61.1% after 6pm at RPC. Grain moisture contents of bulk-harvested barley differed from storing date, farmer household, and field. Required dry hours were different with grain moistures contents. The average dry hour was 9.5 hours per 10a and dry rate was 0.89%. The proportion of impurity removed by coarse cleaning differed from grain moisture contents, as higher grain moisture content made impurity rate increase up to 38.9%. Cost of drying of bulk-harvested barley was 50won per ㎏ at above 24% of grain moisture contents, and the average dry cost was 41.25 won/㎏ and 14,400won/10a. The 62% of barley treated was stored in indoor-grain bin, and the others packed in 500 ㎏-poly con bag were stored in warehouse insulated.
