(A Scalable Multipoint-to-Multipoint Routing Protocol in Ad-Hoc Networks) (애드-혹 네트워크에서의 확장성 있는 다중점 대 다중점 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • Most of the existing multicast routing protocols for ad-hoc networks do not take into account the efficiency of the protocol for the cases when there are large number of sources in the multicast group, resulting in either large overhead or poor data delivery ratio when the number of sources is large. In this paper, we propose a multicast routing protocol for ad-hoc networks, which particularly considers the scalability of the protocol in terms of the number of sources in the multicast groups. The proposed protocol designates a set of sources as the core sources. Each core source is a root of each tree that reaches all the destinations of the multicast group. The union of these trees constitutes the data delivery mesh, and each of the non-core sources finds the nearest core source in order to delegate its data delivery. For the efficient operation of the proposed protocol, it is important to have an appropriate number of core sources. Having too many of the core sources incurs excessive control and data packet overhead, whereas having too little of them results in a vulnerable and overloaded data delivery mesh. The data delivery mesh is optimally reconfigured through the periodic control message flooding from the core sources, whereas the connectivity of the mesh is maintained by a persistent local mesh recovery mechanism. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol achieves an efficient multicast communication with high data delivery ratio and low communication overhead compared with the other existing multicast routing protocols when there are multiple sources in the multicast group.

  • Increasing using multimedia services as VoIP, Video conference, DMB, IPTV, etc, it is necessary to increase network traffics and develop the mechanism about a flow control for real time traffic transmission. In order to transfer realtime multimedia data, the transfer rate can be control on network state data measuring packet losses of a receiver and delay time of packets through getting periodical feedback RTP/RTCP packet. This paper describes using efficiant flow control on multicast that can reduce errors according to getting feedback tranfer delay and proposes the mechanism that can adapt dynamic change of network. In simulation, the transfer rate can efficiently be control on dynamic change of network and it makes the maximum of the use of a bandwidth and the minimum of packet losses.

  • Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is one of the future communication technologies in which it offers safe-driving information and Internet access for both drivers and passengers by communicating among cars on the road. In case of applying Content Centric Network (CCN) rather than TCP/IP over VANET, called VCCN, it can provide efficient multicast communication of shared information among participating cars as well as offer corresponding one-to-one communications. This paper introduces SUMO for simulating traffic flows, VANET for car-to-car ad hoc communications, and CCN for a future Internet architecture. In addition, it compares and analyses the transmission performance of moving cars over VCCN. According to the simulation results using SUMO and VCCN, the larger the packet size, the better the transmission performance. In addition, VCCN provides higher packet transmission rate than that of TCP/IP when the clients shares the same contents. Furthermore, the overall data reception rate exceeds the physical transmission channel rate.

  • This research studies real time interaction and dynamic data shared through 3D scenes in virtual network environments. In a distributed virtual environment of client-server structure, consistency is maintained by the static information exchange; as jerks occur by packet delay when updating messages of dynamic data exchanges are broadcasted disorderly, the network bottleneck is reduced by predicting the movement path by using the Dead-reckoning algorithm. In Dead-reckoning path prediction, the error between the estimated and the actual static values which is over the threshold based on the shared object location requires interpolation and multicasting of the previous location by the ESPDU of DIS. The shared dynamic data of the 3D virtual environment is implementation using the VRML.

국제 표준 LTE-Advanced에서 논의되고 있는 Heterogeneous Network 관련 Interference Management 기술

  • 3GPP($3^{rd}$ Generation Partnership project)는 3세대 이동통신인 UMTS(Universal Mobile Telecommunication System)의 초기 표준화 이후 HSPA(High Speed Packet Access), MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) 등의 기술 개발로 UMTS시스템을 지속적으로 발전시켜 왔다. 그리고, 최근 새로운 무선 접속 기술을 기반한 LTE(Long Term Evolution)시스템에 대한 표준화를 완료하고 ITU-T(International Telecommnunications Union-Radio)의 IMT-Advanced 요구사항을 만족하는 LTE-Advanced 시스템에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 한편 LTE-Advanced 표준의 목표인 무선 전송속도를 한층 더 높이고, 단위비용(cost per bit)을 더욱 낮추고, 셀 커버리지 및 용량을 확대하기 한 저출력의 피코셀, 펨토셀, 무선중계기들을 이용하여 실내외의 소규모 영역을 서비스하도록 하는 heterogeneous network에 대한 국제 표준이 활발히 논의되고 있다. 그러나 여러 셀이 혼재하는 경우 셀들간의 신호 간섭이 발생하여 사용자의 통신 품질이 크게 저하될 우려가 있다. 본 고에서는 heterogeneous network 와 관련하여 국제 표준 LTE-Advanced에서 논의되고 있는 간섭 제어 기법에 대해 소개한다.

  • In order to accommodate current accelerated growth in customers and traffic. Internet has faced the demand to scale its network dimension both in size and bandwidth, and new service provisioning. One way to solve this problem is to forward If packets based on ATM switching technology. This paper briefly explained technical tasks to apply this If switching technique in ATM networks for building Internet backbone, and presented the directions to approach these tasks. Those tasks are scalability, ATM VC setup and mapping between VC and IP packet flow, traffic management and traffic engineering, multicast, and finally ATM switch architecture to provide multiservice.

  • This paper has a dual purpose. First, we consider a relaxation algorithm which seems to be particularly suitable for multicasting routing problems. We show that the algorithm has polynomial complexity. Second, to measure the quality of solutions in comparison to the optimal solutions over a wide range of network sizes for which the computation of the optimal costs is too excessive, we also propose a random graph generation scheme in which an asymptotic lower bound on the expected optimal cost can be computed as a function of network node size.

  • 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project)는 3세대 이동통신인 UMTS(Universal Mobile Telecommunication System)의 초기 표준화 이후 HSPA(High Speed Packet Access), MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) 등의 기술 개발로 UMTS 시스템을 지속적으로 발전시켜 왔다. 그리고, 최근 새로운 무선 접속 기술에 기반한 LTE(Long Term Evolution)시스템에 대한 표준화를 거의 완료하고 ITU-R(International Telecommunications Union-Radio)의 IMT-Advanced 요구사항을 만족하는 LTE-Advanced 시스템에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 한편 최근 다양한 무선 접속 기술간 핸드오버 기술이 중요한 이슈로 부각됨에 따라 LTE-Advanced에서도 이를 수용하기 위한 기술이 요구된다. 본 고에서는 3GPP에서 추진하고 있는 LTE-Advanced기술의 표준화 동향과 향후 이에 적용 가능한 다양한 무선 접속 기술간의 핸드오버 지원 기술을 살펴봄으로써 LTE-Advanced에서의 끊김없는 이동성(seamless mobility) 제공을 위한 근간을 제시하고자 한다.

Design of Geocasting in MANET using the Improved LBM

  • MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc network) have recently attracted a lot of attention in the research community as well as in industry. Although the previous research mainly focused on various of MANET in routing, we consider, in this paper, how to efficiently support applications such as variable geocasting basd on MANET. The goal of a geocasting protocol is deliver data packet to a group of nodes that are located within a specified geocasting region. Previous research that support geocast service in mobilie computing based on MANET have the non-optimization problem of data delivery path, overhead by frequent reconstruction of the geocast tree, and service disruption problem. In this paper, we propose the mobility pattern based geocast technique using variable service range according to the mobility of destination node and resource reservation to solve this problem. The experimental results show that our proposed mechanism has improved performance of Accessibility & Network Overhead than previous research.

  • 네트워크 기반의 이동성 관리 프로토콜인 PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6)에서 방송이나 비디오 스트리밍과 같은 서비스를 제공할 때 멀티캐스트 방식을 이용하여 데이터 패킷을 전송하는 기법이 제안되었다. 제안되었던 기법은 MN(Mobile Node)이 핸드오버할 때 nMAG(new Mobile Access Gateway) 내에 같은 멀티캐스트 멤버인 또 다른 MN이 존재할 경우를 고려하지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 같은 멀티캐스트 멤버인 MN이 존재할 경우 버퍼링된 패킷들의 중복 전송을 막는 기법에 대해 제안한다. 이 후 MN이 nMAG로 핸드오버했을 때 같은 멀티캐스트 멤버를 가진다면 버퍼링된 패킷을 현재 핸드오버한 MN에만 포워딩하여 중복 전송되는 것을 방지한다.
