Among many kinds of parts for Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), a Back Light Unit (BLU) that changes the path of the light from light source to screen is the most important part to improve optical performances such as uniformity and average value of brightness. Up to recently, design process of BLU has been carried out by depending on the experience of design engineer. Using this approach, however, is proven that it is hard to effectively deal with difficulties in a process of the LCD development such as frequent design modifications, various design requirements, and short-term development. To cope with this situation, we applied a Process Integration and Design Optimization (PIDO) based design environment. PIDO is a software package to integrate multiple simulation processes and find a better solution using various design techniques. In this research, we found a design solution satisfying all design requirements by using the PIDO.
With the aging of society a great deal of interest is being placed on the value of longitudinal data in evaluating physiological losses. We present data on test-one/test-two reliability and reproducibility for measures of training, bone density from a longitudinal study of master athletes. Fifty-two males (mean age at test $1=58.2{\pm}9.8\;years$) and thirty-two females ($54.4{\pm}8.8\;years$) were selected from the study population. Bone mineral density was determined using DEXA (Hologic 1500). The characteristics of the subjects are presented below as $means\;{\pm}\;S.D$. The data was imported into the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS 9.0, Chicago, IL). Paired t-tests were performed between visit 1 and visit 2 in subjects. Pearson correlations were performed. The results of this study indicate the measures of training history, body mass and bone density are reasonably stable and reproducible. We conclude that body composition and bone density parameters are stable and reproducible over time in active older subjects. Physiologic measures in master athletes are fairly stable, and reproducible over time Longitudinal studies investigating age-related changes in master athletes need to be conducted on a time schedule of greater than two years.

Semi-Solid Diecasters usually carry out the Semi-Solid diecasting experiments before producing new casts. At the Semi-Solid diecasting stages, the runner-gate part has been always repeatedly corrected, which leads to a tedious processing time and increased processing cost. A large amount of experience is essential in manual assessment and if the design is defective, much time and a great deal of efforts will be wasted in the modification of the die. In this study, design system has been developed based on design database. In addition, gate experiment for gating system design has been carried out to append the database. It is possible for engineers to make efficient gating system design of Semi-Solid diecasting and it will result in the reduction of expenses and time to be required. The detailed contents of the research are described in the followings. An attempt is made to link programs incorporating a number of expert design rules with the process variables obtained by commercial FVM softwares, MAGMAsoft, to form a useful package.
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the number of patients with and without medical history transported to the emergency department due to changes in daily temperature and season. Methods: Data on emergency activity sheet and daily weather were collected from March 2016 to February 2017 in the city of Gyeonggi-do. In total, 13,531 patients were transferred to the emergency department in 119 ambulance. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (version 21). Results: The daily average number of patients transferred was the highest in August and September, i.e., the summer season. The higher the daily highest and lowest temperatures, higher the daily average number of patients transferred. In contrast, patients with medical history of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and pulmonary disease had a higher incidence of transfers in the winter season and on days with lower temperature. Conclusion: The results indicate that as people become more active during the summer when temperatures are high, the chances of daily emergencies increases, whereas patients with medical history are more likely to experience emergencies when the temperatures were lower. Hence, 119 ambulances will have to be prepared in advance to deal with this trend.
Background: Monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of patients with different types of cancer, such as cetuximab, have been widely used for the past 10 years in oncology. Although drug information package insert contains some representative adverse events which were observed in the clinical trials for drug approval, the overall adverse event patterns on the real-world cetuximab use were less investigated. Also, there have been no published papers that deal with the full spectrums of adverse drug events of cetuximab using national-wide drug safety surveillance systems. Methods: In this study, we detected new adverse event signals of cetuximab in the Korea Adverse Event Reporting System (KAERS) by utilizing proportional reporting ratios, reporting odds ratios, and information components indices. Results: The KAERS database included 869,819 spontaneous adverse event reports, among which 2,116 reports contained cetuximab. We compared the labels of cetuximab among the United States, European Union, Australia, Japan, and Korea to compare the current labeling information and newly detected signals of our study. Some of the signals including hyperkeratosis, tenesmus, folliculitis, esophagitis, neuralgia, disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, and skin/throat tightness were not labeled in the five countries. Conclusion: We identified new signals that were not known at the time of market approval.
The concept of food coordination was introduced at the end of the 1990s and has generated a great deal of interest until now. However, no standard for the classification of such studies has been established yet. This study was conducted to examine the trends in food coordination studies published from 2000 to 2008. To accomplish this, approximately 335 food coordination articles were reviewed. Classification based on content analysis and the document review were conducted based on study themes(subjects), study forms, study designs, places of application, survey area and sample types. The most important type of study identified in this review was study themes. The themes of the study were divided into the following 10 subjects: 1) studies on the definition and recognition of food coordination, 2) studies on the environment, 3) studies on colors and package designs, 4) studies on table setting, table manner and etiquette, 5) studies on photography, editorial design, identity design and menu, 6) studies on components of dining atmosphere display and table/glass ware, 7) studies on emotions and sensibility, the five senses and food coordination, 8) studies on human resources, 9) studies on reviews, food & culture and education, 10) studies on purchasing, consumer behavior and marketing. The most common subjects were the components of dining atmosphere display and table/glass ware(23.6%). In addition, 17% of the articles reviewed were conducted to study colors and package designs, 14.6% to evaluate purchasing and consumer behavior and marketing, 13.4% to evaluate the environment, and 9.6% to study food & culture and education. Overall, these five subjects accounted for more than 75% of the articles reviewed.

This study is concerned with the shape optimization of structural members frequently found in critical area in a structure system, that is, highly stressed zone. Isogeometry analysis is well known to be the very efficient way to integrate the geometric modeling(CAD) and computational analysis(CAE). This can be accomplished by directly using the geometric modeling by NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline). In this study, an efficient computer code adopting the isogeometry concept has been developed for the structural analysis, in which CAD information can be directly used in the finite element modeling. In order to show the validity of the present code, the present results are compared with those by using the commercial package, that is, MSC/NASTRAN. The present isogeometric analysis procedure has been integrated with the optimization procedure to deal with the optimization problem found in the context of structural mechanics. The present system has been successfully applied to the shape optimization of cantilever structure having bracket. From the present study, it can be seen the validity of the present approach and computer codes developed in this study. This paper ends with some discussions about the practical usefulness of the present approach which is based on isogeometry analysis, and extension of the present study.

Many problems of confounding and identifiability for polynomial models in an experimental design can be solved using methods of algebraic geometry. The theory of $Gr\ddot{o}bner$ basis is used to characterize the design. In addition, a fractional factorial design can be uniquely represented by a polynomial indicator function. $Gr\ddot{o}bner$ bases and indicator functions are powerful computational tools to deal with ideals of fractions based on each different theoretical aspects. The problem posed here is to give how to move from one representation to the other. For a given fractional factorial design, the indicator function can be computed from the generating equations in the $Gr\ddot{o}bner$ basis. The theory is tested using some fractional factorial designs aided by a modern computational algebra package CoCoA.
Digital simulation which was introduced to the architectural field due to the rapid growth of computer graphics, gave birth to a new type of contents called 'virtual reality', led by the interaction with the users and real time processing. The public attention is drawn to the virtual reality's potential as a next generational space simulation it, having the unique characteristics of 'simulation', 'interactivity', 'tole-presence', and 'immersion', is capable of taking a virtual tour of a space with a size equivalent to that of a real space, as well as proceeding with the design progress. Nonetheless, many problems impeding CPU's real time processing of an excessively loaded architectural model data have been pinpointed over the time. Yet such GPU based game engines as 'DirectX' and 'OpenGL', developed to deal with these impediments, have not been easily applied to the architectural simulation in the design process, due to the high license cost and the specific technical requirements for the system. The virtual reality has been developed and distributed centering around the gaming field, and game developers recently show a greater tendency to include level editors in the package for the expandability purpose. Thus, we plan to propose architecture simulation which utilizes level editors in this study. In addition, the compatibility of the game engine based level editors of Quake and Unreal which form the standards for the open source FPS games, based on VRML, the standard format for the virtual reality, was compared and analyzed. Taking the example of Villa Savoye of Le Corbusier, its application possibility as an architecture simulation was assessed, by measuring the extent to which the performance of such characteristic features of the virtual reality as interactivity, immersion, and tele-presence, was improved.
As a link composition of a double link type level luffing jib crane was determinated through the link composition design, the design to be considered will be computations of the luffing trajectory deviation at the fly jib tip and the required luffing device capacity. This paper is a study regarding the static and dynamic analysis for a mechanism of the crane. The objective of the static analysis is to determinate the capacity and the dimension of luffing device when the crane selfload, rated hoisting load, wind load and inertia force are applied on the crane. The objective of dynamic analysis is to compute the luffing trajectory deviation, velocity and inertia force due to luffing acceleration for each link. All analyses are performed by computer programs. The reliability of the program was checked by results from analyses of the related commercial package. It is expected that the productivity and reliability of the design can be improved by this program which can rapidly and exactly deal with static and dynamic analysis for a given link composition of the crane.
