Dot-Matrix 디스플레이의 PWM방식과 PAM방식의 혼합 계조표현 법 (Composition Modulation of Dot-matrix Display Grayscale)

  • In this paper, a composition modulation of Dot-matrix display grayscale is presented. There's two method of expression of Dot-matrix Display grayscale. One is PWM by controlling pulse width. The other is PAM by controlling pulse amplitude. Composition modulation of Dot-matrix use PWM and PAM together. Composition modulation shows the number of grayscale as number of grayscale of PWM$\times$number of grayscale of PAM and have the effect of reduced size than existing single modulation.

  • Increasing the switching frquency is essential to achieve the high density of switched mode power supplies, but this leads to the increase of switching losses. A number of new soft switching converters have been presented ot reduce switching losses, but most of them may have some demerits, such as the increase of voltage/current stresses and high conduction losses. To overcome these problems, the ZVT-PWM converter has recently been presented. in this paper, the operation characteristics of the ZVT-PWM boost converter is analyzed, and the steady-states (DC) and small-signal model of this converter are derived and analyzed, and then the transfer functions of this converter are derived. The transfer functions of ZVT-PWM boost converter are similar to those of the conventional PWM boost converter, but the transfer characteristics are affecsted by te duty ratio and the switching frequency.

  • 일반적으로 추력기는 on/off 제어 방식을 이용한다. Bang-Bang Control, PWM(Pulse Width Modulator), PWPF(Pulse Width Pulse Frequency) 등이 그 방법으로 많이 이용되고 있다. PWPF를 설계할 때 파라미터($K_m$, ${\tau}$, $U_{on}$, $U_{off}$, $U_m$)를 잘못 선정하면 위상 지연, 연료 낭비, 수명 감소 등이 발생한다. 그러므로 파라미터가 시스템 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 적절한 파라미터를 선정하여야 한다. 본 논문은 정적 해석을 수행하여 PWPF 파라미터 설계방안을 제시하였으며, 동적 분석 및 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 설계변수에 미치는 상호 영향을 분석하였다.

  • Dynamic model of 3-way PWM high speed solenoid valve was derived considering reluctance and inductance of electromagnet through valve spool by Bondgraph modeling method. Computer simulations of hydraulic system with 3-wayhigh speed solenoid valve were performed and the results were compared to te experimental results in order to validate the PWM valve dynamic model obtained.

  • In this paper, a space vector concept is generalized for PWM(pulse-width modulated) inverters and PWM rectifiers with current link and voltage link respectively. Through representing three-phase variables as a space vector, we propose space vector modulations for PWM voltage and current source inverters, and PWM rectifiers with current link and voltage link. For these types, switching states of the switches are systematically analyzed from tables. It is shown in three-phase PWM rectifiers that power factor of the line current and output dc voltage can be controlled arbitrarily. The PWM rectifier with current link is also given as an example system.

초음파 진동절삭기의 펄스폭변조 가진 특성 (Characteristics of Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) Excitation of Ultrasonic Elliptical Vibration Cutting Device)

  • To obtain an elliptical trajectory at the cutting edge during elliptical vibration cutting, sinusoidal voltage excitations of two piezoelectric actuators have commonly been used. In this study, PWM excitation, which is relatively simple to generate, was employed and its characteristics were investigated. In experimental and analytical analyses, we found that for PWM excitation, the integer-multiple frequencies of the excitation voltage distorted the shape of the elliptical trajectory, whereas at a duty ratio(DR) of 50%, the distortion of the elliptical trajectory was minimized due to disappearance of the first overtone. When the magnitude of the maximum excitation voltage was maintained at the same level for both PWM and sinusoidal excitation, PWM (DR=50%) excitation produced a greater vibration amplitude than sinusoidal excitation but resulted in more rapid saturation of a high-frequency power amplifier.

Space-vector PWM Techniques for a Two-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Considering a Reduction in Switching Losses

  • Two PWM techniques using space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) are proposed for a two-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) driven by a two-phase eight-switch inverter. A two-phase motor with two symmetric stator windings is usually driven by a two-phase four-, six-, or eight-switch inverter. Compared with a four- and six-switch inverter, a two-phase eight-switch inverter can achieve larger power output. For two-phase motor drives, the SVPWM technique achieves more efficient DC bus voltage utilization and less harmonic distortion of the output voltage. For a two-phase PMSM fed by a two-phase eight-switch inverter under a normal SVPWM scheme, each of the eight PWM trigger signals for the inverter have to be changed twice in a cycle, causing a higher PWM frequency. Based on the normal SVPWM scheme, two effective SVPWM schemes are investigated in order to reduce the PWM frequency by rearranging four comparison values, while achieving the same function as the normal PWM scheme. A detailed explanation of the normal and two proposed SVPWM schemes is illustrated in the paper. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed schemes achieve a better steady performance with lower switching losses compared with the normal scheme.

Induction Heating PWM High Frequency Inverter using New Active Auxiliary Resonant Snubber

  • This research presents a new active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter solving the problem of induction heating PWM high frequency inverter circuit which is using widely in the practical application of an induction heating apparatus, the soft switching operation and power control are impossible when the lowest power supply in the active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter. The inverter circuit which is attempted by the on-off operation of a switch has the effect of reducing the power loss due to soft switching and high frequency switching. This confirms that power regulation is possible on a continuous basis from 0.25[kW] to 2.84[kW] where the duty factor(D) changes from 0.08 to 0.3 under zero current switching which operates by an asymmetrical pulse width modulating control. The power conversion efficiency is 95[%]. Due to these results, the active auxiliary resonant snubber for an induction heating PWM high frequency inverter is considered effective as a source of induction heating.

  • 최근 가전제품에 브러시리스 직류 (Brushless DC) 전동기의 센서리스 드라이브를 적용시키는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 특히 사람들의 삶의 질이 향상 됨에 따라 가정에서 가장 밀접하게 연관되어 있는 냉장고, 에어컨과 같은 가전제품에 가청소음을 줄여 보다 편안하고 안락한 생활을 추구하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 브러시리스 직류전동기에 랜덤 PWM을 적용한 냉장고용 압축기의 저가형 센서리스 드라이브를 이용하여 기존 드라이브 보다 가격과 소음을 줄일 수 있음을 실험하였다. 이러한 실험으로 전자적 소음을 줄임으로써 소음에 질을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

여드름 치료를 위한 PWM 기반 광 조사 시스템 설계 (Design of PWM-Based Photo Irradiation System for Acne Treatment)

  • 광 역학치료(Photodynamic therapy: PDT) 중 하나인 기존의 LED 광 조사는 연속파(Continuous wave: C.W) 방식의 635 nm 파장으로 여드름 치유에 가장 많이 사용되어 왔으나, 이 방식은 에너지효율이 낮고 생체조직에 열이 많이 발생하여 개선의 방안이 필요했다. 본 논문에서는 에너지효율을 높이고 여드름 치료를 위하여 생체조직에서의 열적 파괴현상을 방지하기위해 PWM(펄스 폭 변조: Pulse Width Modulation)을 활용한 여드름 치료용 LED 광 조사장치를 설계하였다. 시스템 구성은 크게 Timer 모듈, PWM 모듈, 광학전달 장치로 크게 세구성하여 설계하였으며, 여드름 치료를 위한 피부 투과 깊이를 높이기 위하여 광학전달 장치는 660 nm 파장의 1 W LED를 사용하였다. PWM 제어를 이용하여 발생된 주파수와 파형을 확인하고, 660 nm LED의 출력에너지 및 생체조직의 표면온도를 확인하여 안정적인 에너지출력과 생체조직의 안정성에 대해 평가하였다. 그 결과 여드름 치료를 위한 660 nm 파장의 1 W LED 광 에너지를 얻기 위하여 C.W 방식으로 사용하였을 경우 전력손실이 높고 생체조직에서의 열적 파괴현상을 보였으나, PWM 방식을 구현함으로써 펄스 폭 변조를 통하여 LED의 전력소모를 낮추었고, 생체조직의 열적 파괴현상이 나타나지 않아 여드름 치료를 위해 사용할 경우 C.W 방식보다 PWM 방식이 더 안전하고 효과적일 것으로 사료된다.
