단상 PWM 컨버터에 적용한 공간 벡터 PWM (Adaptation of Space Vector Modulation to Single-Phase High Power PWM Converters)

  • In this paper, a voltage control method based on DQ transformation and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) for a single phase three-level converter is proposed. This control method is designed to use DC values instead of using instantaneous values of current which are usually used in single-phase application, so that it results in a fast and robust voltage control response. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control strategies.

  • PWM control is a kind of nonlinear control. The merits of PWM control of hydraulic equipment are the robustness of the high speed on-off valve and its low price. And it is easily implemented to hydraulic equipments with microcomputer. The high speed on-off valve is directly digitally controlled without any D/A converter. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which regularly appear in the position control system using high speed on-off valve, and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. To do this, the nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction of this system are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are examined theoretically and experimentally. Consequently, the availability of the proposed method is confirmed well.

  • 본 논문은 직류측 센서만을 갖는 3상 PWM 정류기의 새로운 제어기법을 제안한다. 제어가 내부의 모텔전류와 시스템 전류의 편차를 영으로 제어하여 상전압의 크기와 위상을 추정하고 스위칭 상태와 직류링크전류로부터 상전류를 재구성한다. 제안한 상전압 빛 상전류 센서리스 기법을 PWM 정류기 시스템에 적용한 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper deals with the PWM controlled active AC power filter. A new PWM control method from the viewpoint of speed and simplicity is proposed. And a microprocessor-based controller is used to realize the active AC power filter. The existing PWM control methods are primarily based on Fourier series expansion and these methods need FFT calculation and solving nonlinear harmonic equations, which are heavy burden to real-time control. The proposed method is based upon generalized pulse series expansion and needs only definite integrals of harmonic signal. So, computational effort can be reduced by a large margin. The digital circuit using 16-bit microprocessor is designed to implement the actual active power filler.

  • 본 논문은 전력변환 시스템의 제어 특성 개선을 위해 전향제어를 갖는 다변수 상태궤환제어를 제시하였다. 이론의 적용대상은 3상 전압형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 그리고 3상 전류형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 시스템이며, 이들의 등가회로 및 모델링이 유도되고 해석되었다. 다양한 시뮬레이션에 의해 제시된 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

정현파 출력 필터를 가지는 3상 PWM 인버터 제어 기법 (A Novel Control Algorithm of a Three-phase PWM Inverter with LC Filter)

  • A novel control method of a three-phase PWM inverter with LC filter is proposed. The transfer function of LC filter is the same as that of second-order low pass filter(LPF), which has a zero damping ratio. A simple method of implementing second-order LPF with damping ratio is to add a resistor in an LC circuit. However, in a real power system, adopting damping resistors is impractical because it results in losses proportional to the square of the current flowing through the resistors. Instead of inserting resistors, the proposed control strategy utilizes the measured capacitor voltages to control the oscillation of LC circuit. The overall transfer function of the proposed method is the same as a second-order LPF, and its damping ratio is controllable via control variables. The current controller can have overshoots caused by LC filter. Improved current controller is implemented by an equivalent second-order of LC filter. A 7.5 kVA PWM converter and a PWM inverter with a 5.5 kW induction motor are set up to verify the proposed control algorithm. Test waveforms are also presented to verify the proposed LC filter control algorithm.

  • Based on the idea that nonlinear PWM controller design can be directly applied to the attitude tracking problem of thruster-controlled spacecraft because it constitutes a sub-class of nonlinear PWM controlled system, nonlinear and output error feedback PWM controlled system is considered to describe the behavior of thruster-controlled spacecraft, and to determine actual thruster on-time which guarantees system stability. A differential geometric approach is utilized to show an asymptotical stability of average PWM system, which finally guarantees the stability of closed loop PWM controlled system. Simulation results show that the motions of PWM controlled system occurs very closely around those of the average model of PWM controlled system.

An Improved Phase-Shifted Carrier PWM for Modular Multilevel Converters with Redundancy Sub-Modules

  • In this paper, the PSC PWM method is chosen as the optimal modulation method for a 20MW VSC HVDC, with consideration of the harmonic distortion of the output voltage, the switching frequency, and the control implementation difficulty. In addition, a new PSC PWM method is proposed in order to achieve an easy application and to solve the redundant control problems encountered in the previous PSC PWM method. To verify the proposed PSC PWM method, PSCAD/EMTDC simulations for an 11-level MMC RTDS HILS test and an 11-level MMC prototype converter test were performed. As can be seen from the results of these tests, the proposed PSC PWM method shows good results in an 11-level MMC with redundant sub-modules.

대기모드 기능을 내장한 전원 장치 제어용 PWM IC 설계 (Design of PWM IC with Standby Mode Control Function for SMPS)

  • In this paper, we designed the off-line PWM(Pulse width modulation) control IC for flyback type power converter to reduce the standby power consumption. In normal state, this off-line PWM IC generates the output pulse with $40\sim60kHz$ frequency and duty ratio of $20\sim88%$. When SMPS operates in standby mode, this IC generates the output pulse with 33kHz frequency and duty ratio of 1 %. SPICE simulation was performed to verify the standby power consumption of the power converter with designed of-line PWM IC. Power converter with designed off-line PWM IC consumes less than 0.3W when it operates in standby mode condition.

  • This paper is proposed a high performance speed control of the synchronous reluctance motor through the artificial intelligent SV-PWM. SV-PWM is controlled using fuzzy control that is artificial intelligent control. SV-PWM can be maximum used maximum dc link voltage and is excellent control method due to characteristic to reducing harmonic more than others. Fuzzy control has a advantage which can be robustly controlled. Simulation results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm.
