  • The configuration of Brushless DC moter is similar to the permanent magnet Synchronous moter. Power transistors are oftenly used to supply the switching by feedback signals of rotor positioning sensors. Brushless DC moter have been used in Aerospace and Robotics where the electromagnetic noise or the sparking of the commutator contact can not be tolerated and long - lived maintenance - free operation is required. This paper describes the design of the microprocessor - based controller for the Brushless DC moter. The controller is designed to operate for the constant torque generation and variable speed control using sinusoidal PWM inverters and resolvers as rotor positioning sensors.

  • This paper presents circuit models and control algorithms of distributed generation system(DGS) which consists of Z-type converter and PWM inverter Z-type converter which employs both the L and C passive components and shoot-through zero vectors instead of the conventional DC/DC converter in order to step up DC-link voltage. Discrete time sliding mode control with the asymptotic observer is used for current control.

  • This paper presents a new velocity estimation strategy of a non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) drive without high frequency signal injection or special PWM pattern. This approach is based on the d-axis current regulator output voltage of the drive system which has the information of rotor position error. The rotor velocity can be estimated through a rotor position tracking PI controller that controls the position error to zero. For zero and low speed operation, the PI gains of rotor position tracking controller have a variable structure. The PI tuning formulas are derived by analyzing this control system using the frequency domain specifications such as phase margin and bandwidth assignment.

  • Of all the proposed resonant techniques, the well-known phase-shifted full bridge converter remains one of the most attractive because it offers an easy way of achieving ZVS with a minimum of extra components added, which is essential for the high power applications. This paper describes the design of a digital controller for a Phase Shifted Full-bridge PWM Converter. The small-signal model is derived incorporating the effects of phase-shift control and the utilization of the transformer leakage inductance and power FET junction capacitances to achieve the zero-voltage resonant switching. Based on the derived small-signal model, the digital controller is designed in the discrete domain. The performance of designed controller is verified through the simulation.

  • This paper present an implementation of digital control system for a phase-shift full-bridge converter using a digital signal processor. The digital control of phase-shift full-bridge converter provides many advantageous of easily generating various phase-shift timing and implementing a complex voltage and current control algorithm. The digital controller is implemented using the DSP TMS320F2812 and the converter and controller operation is proved through the experimental results.

  • A new implementation strategy for the flux weakening control of a Surface Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) is proposed. It is implemented based on the output of the synchronous PI current regulator-reference voltage to PWM inverter. The onset of flux weakening and the level of the d-axis current are adjusted by the outer voltage regulation loop to prevent the saturation of the current regulator. The characteristics of this flux weakening scheme include no dependency on the machine parameters, the guarantee of current regulation on any operating condition, and fast transition into and out of the flux weakening mode. Experimental results at various operating conditions including 4-quadrant operation are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed control scheme.

  • 본 연구에서는 고효율, 반영구적인 수명 및 환경친화성으로 인해 효과적인 전력저장장치로 대두되고 있는 플라이휠 에너지 저장(SFES : Super-conductivity Flywheel Energy Storage) 시스템의 구동원으로 적용되는 전동발전시스템에 대한 설계, 제작 및 시험을 수행하였다. 전동발전기는 슬롯리플에 의한 와전류 손실이나 열손실을 고려하여 슬롯리스 Ring-wound형으로 선정하였으며, 전력변환기는 PWM Boost 컨버터를 통해 역률 및 DC 전압 제어 그리고 Full Bridge 인버터를 통해 전동발전기 고속운전 제어를 실현할 수 있는 Topology를 채택하였다.

  • The single-phase PWM converter employing power semiconductors is currently applied to the power unit of high-speed rail vehicle and increasingly used as the front-end converter with properties of near unity power factor. Power factor and harmonics are increasingly important needs for drive system of high-speed rail vehicle. The proposed approach has many advantages which include fewer semiconductor components, simplified control, high performance features and satisfies IEC 555 harmonic current standards. Simulation results show that the dc-link voltage control obey the reference value during constant load and input current is near sinusoidal.

  • As the analysis and design technologies for electro-magnetic actuation has advanced over the years, proportional solenoid valve is gaining acceptance in wide range of industrial and commercial applications because of its superior characteristics over the conventional AOV or MOV, such as improved performance, reduced maintenance costs. This research deals with the position controller design of two-stage flow control solenoid valve. Investigation of steady-state characteristics and dynamic model identification for pilot disc is performed. Least square method to minimize the error magnitude of frequency response between the closed-loop and target system is applied to the design of PI-controller gains. From the experiments of step and frequency response, it is concluded that the controller meets the performance specification of target system, which verifies the usefulness of controller design method for proportional solenoid valve.

  • This paper presents a digital controller for three-phase Boost Converter. Generally, the conventional Space-Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) have complex computation. Thereby, it should be implemented with high performance processor. In order to reduce calculation burden of the conventional SVPWM, digital controller which has a simplified SVPWM algorithm is designed in this study. A proposed digital controller consists of fuzzy pwm controller and prediction controller. In simulations and experiments, the proposed digital controller is validated.
