고효율 및 고출력 태양광 모듈을 위한 셀 스트링 연구 (A Study on the Cell String for High Efficiency and High Power Photovoltaic Modules)

  • In this work, we conducted a study on cell strings of high efficiency and high power solar cell modules via simulation. In contrast to the conventional module manufacturing method, the simulation was performed by connecting cutting cells divided into four parts from 6-in size using the electrically conductive adhesive (ECA). The resistance of the ECA added in series connection was extracted using an experimental method. This resistance was found to be $3m{\Omega}$. Based on this simulation, we verified the change in efficiency of the string as a function of the number of cutting cell connections. Consequently, the cutting cell efficiency of the first 20.08% was significantly increased to 20.63% until the fifth connection; however, for further connections, it was confirmed that the efficiency was saturated to 20.8%. Connecting cutting cells using ECA improves the efficiency of the string; therefore, it is expected that it will be possible to fabricate modules with high efficiency and high power.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the operation of the ignition circuit for electronic arm and fire device(EAFD), and investigated the sensitive elements of the circuit system. For reliability analysis, the EAFD ignition circuit was modeled using the PSpice simulation tool, and the output results of the circuit were examined by changing the tolerance of each circuit element. Monte Carlo simulation was used by maintaining the values of the observed sensitive elements at ${\pm}10%$ of the original values and adjusting the values of the other components according to a random distribution. The histogram results of the output peak currents and pulse widths were represented by Weibull and Burr type XII function fittings in three cases(element values are +10 %, 0 %, -10 % of original). For the output peak currents, mean values were 1.0028, 1.0034, and 1.0050, where the variance values were calculated as 0.0398, 0.0396, and 0.0290 using the Weibull function fitting, respectively. For pulse widths, the mean values of 0.9475, 0.9907, and 1.0293 with the variance values of 0.0260, 0.0251, and 0.0238 were obtained using the Burr Type XII function fittings.

  • This paper presents the design of acoustic resonance(AR) free and dimmable electronic ballast for 1kW Metal-Halide Lamp(MHL). The proposed Ballast consists of a Full-Bridge(FB) rectifier, a passive power factor correction(PFC) circuit, a full-bridge inverter, an ignitor using LC resonance and a control circuit for frequency modulation and dimming control. Whereas a passive PFC provides advantages in terms of high reliability and low cost for constructing the circuit, it is difficult to supply a stable voltage because of the output voltage ripple that occurs with a period of 120Hz. Although the ballast can be designed with a small size and a light weight if it is driven at a switching frequency between 1 and 100 kHz, AR will occur if the eigenvalue frequency of the lamp coincides with the inverter's operation frequency. The operation frequency was modulated in real time according to the output voltage ripple to compensate for the variation in power supplied to the lamp and eliminate AR. For dimming, the method, which modulated drive frequency of FB inverter using the control of DC level by microprocessor, was used. The Dimming ranged at least from 600W to 1kw as rated power of the lamp with 4 stages. Performance of the proposed technique was validated through numerical analysis, computer simulation using Pspice and by applying it to an electronic ballast for a prototype 1kW MHL.

  • 전계효과 트랜지스터와 광 다이오우드 및 다층 양자우물구조 광 변조기로 구성되는 광 스위치 회로와 몇 가지 전광 송/수신기 회로(all-optical transmitter/receiver circuits)에 대하여 시변 천이 동작 특성을 SPICE를 사용 모사한 결과를 기술하였다. 본 모사 실험에서 광 변조기 소자의 수광 창의 크기는 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$으로 고려하였고 사용된 FET 소자의 게이트 폭은 100 $\mu\textrm{m}$이며 전달컨덕턴스 값은 측정된 소자 특성에서 55 mS/mm로 사용되었다. 모사 결과 광 논리소자의 고속 동작을 위해서는 소자의 크기를 줄이며 입력 광 다이오우드의 responsivity가 최대값을 가지는 바이어스점에 동작하도록 설계하고, 짧고 강한 세기의 광선을 입력 광 신호로 사용해야 함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 16위도 X 8비트 Content Addressable and Reentrant Memory(CARM)를 설계하였다. CARM은 읽기, 저장, 매칭, 리엔트린트(Reentrant)의 4가지 동작 모드를 수행한다. CARM의 읽기와 저장 동작은 기존의 스태틱 RAM과 같다.CARM은 집 장에서 레영역 회수(Garbate collection)를 조건적으로 수행할 수 있는 리엔트런트 동작을 가지고 있다. 이러한 기능은 다이내믹 데이타 플로우 컴퓨터의 고속 매칭 유닛에 사용될 수 있다. CARM은 또한 매칭어드레스를 그들의 우선권에 따라 순차적으로 인코딩을 할 수 있는 기능을 가지고 있다. 이러한 CARM은 전체적으로 메모리 셀, 순차적 어드레스 인코더(Sequential Address Encoer, S.A.E), 리엔트런트 동작, 읽기/저장 제어, 데이타/마스크 레지스터, 감지 증폭기, 인코더, 디코더 등의 8개의 블럭으로 구성된다.CARM은 데이타 플로우 컴퓨터, 패턴 인식,테이블 룩업(Table look-up), 영상처리 등에 응용될 수 있을 것이다. 설계된 회로에 대해 각 동작별로 Apollo 워크스테이션의 QUICKSIM을 이용하여 논리 시물레이션을 하였고, 각 블럭별 회로의 SPICE 시뮬레이션을 하였다. 시뮬레이션결과 액세스 타임은 26ns였고, 매치 동작을 수행하는 데에는 4lns의 자연시간이 소요됐다. 결체 레이아웃은 3{\;}\mu\textrm{m} n well CMOS 공정에 따른 설계 규칙을 이용하여 수행하였다.

PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용한 풍력발전시스템의 새로운 시뮬레이션 방법에 관한 연구 (Study on a Noval Simulation Method of Wind Power Generation System Using PSCAD/EMTDC)

  • This paper proposes a novel simulation method of WPGS (Wind Power Generation System). The rotation speed control method of turbine under variable wind speed using the pitch control is proposed. Moreover, when wind speed exceeds the cut-out wind speed, the turbine will be stopped by controlling pitch angle to 90$^{\circ}$, otherwise it will be controlled to steady-state operation. For the purpose of effective simulation, the SWRW (Simulation method for WPGS using Real Weather condition) is used for the utility interactive WPGS simulation in this paper, in which those of three topics for the WPGS simulation: user-friendly method, applicability to grid-connection and the utilization of the real weather conditions, are satisfied. It is impossible to consider the real weather conditions in the WPGS simulation using the EMTP type of simulators and PSPICE, etc. External parameter of the real weather conditions is necessary to ensure the simulation accuracy. The simulation of the WPGS using the real weather conditions including components modeling of wind turbine system is achieved by introducing the interface method of a non-linear external parameter and FORTRAN using PSCAD/EMTDC in this paper. The simulation of long-term, short-term, over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds will be peformed by the proposed simulation method effectively. The efficiency of wind power generator, power converter and flow of energy are analyzed by wind speed of the long-term simulation. The generator output and current supplied into utility can be obtained by the short-term simulation. Finally, transient-state of the WPGS can be analyzed by the simulation results of over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds, respectively.

  • A differential floating mass transducer has been developed in Korea for fully implantable middle ear hearing devices (F-IMEHDs). In particular, the performance of a differential floating mass transducer (DFMT) is very important among the parts of the F-IMEHDs because the mechanical vibration generated by DFMT is delivered to the inner ear directly. In this paper, the electrical model is proposed to analyze the DFMT vibration characteristic using the mechanical model of the DFMT. The electrical model enables the simple analysis of DFMT vibration characteristics using a computer program. The proposed electrical model is simulated through PSpice as changing the values of passive elements in the electrical model. To verify the proposed model, the DFMT has been implemented on the basis of the simulated results and the experiment for vibration measurement has been carried out. Through the comparison, it is verified that the proposed model is useful to analyze the vibration characteristics of the DFMT.

Design and Implementation of Enhanced Resonant Converter for EV Fast Charger

  • This paper presents a novel application of LCC resonant converter for 60kW EV fast charger and describes development of the high efficiency 60kW EV fast charger. The proposed converter has the advantage of improving the system efficiency especially at the rated load condition because it can reduce the conduction loss by improving the resonance current shape as well as the switching loss by increasing lossless snubber capacitance. Additionally, the simple gate driver circuit suitable for proposed topology is designed. Distinctive features of the proposed converter were analyzed depending on the operation modes and detail design procedure of the 10kW EV fast charger converter module using proposed converter topology were described. The proposed converter and the gate driver were identified through PSpice simulation. The 60kW EV fast charger which generates output voltage ranges from 50V to 500V and maximum 150A of output currents using six parallel operated 10kW converter modules were designed and implemented. Using 60kW fast charger, the charging experiments for three types of high-capacity batteries were performed which have a different charging voltage and current. From the simulation and experimental results, it is verified that the proposed converter topology can be effectively used as main converter topology for EV fast charger.

콘크리트 슬래브궤도에서 보상 커패시터의 위치 및 전기용량에 대한 연구 (A Study on the location of Compensation Capacitor and Capacitance in the Concrete Slab Track)

  • Impedance of rails is increased by the magnetic coupling between rails and reinforcing bars in the concrete slab track. Currently, the current of track circuit has been compensated by installing the compensation capacitors on track circuit because of increasing the impedance of rails. In case of a rapid transit railway, the compensation capacitors are installed every 20[m] to compensate the current of track circuit in the concrete slab track. Because the interval of one block for a rapid transit railway is as long as 1500[m], the compensation capacitors are installed about the number of 70$\sim$75 on track circuit. However, in case the compensation capacitors are broken over the number of three, it is a problem that the amplitude of current is under standard amplitude of current which is 0.8[A]. In this paper, it was suggested installing a compensation capacitor by using resonance phenomenon on the concrete slab track. We represent the electrical model of track circuit and the four terminal network, calculate the parameters demanded for the electrical model in the concrete slab track. Also, we computed the position and capacitance of the compensation capacitor about 2040[Hz], 2400[Hz], 2760[Hz], 3120[Hz] which currently is the track circuit frequency in the Gyeongbu rapid transit railway and demonstrated the validity of it, using the Matlab and PSpice program.

대면적 태양전지의 분할 수에 따른 모듈 특성 모델링 (Module Characteristic Modeling in Terms of the Number of Divisions of Large-Area Solar Cells )

  • In the past, the efficiency of solar cells had been increased in order to increase the efficiency of solar modules. However, in recent years, in order to increase output in the solar industry and market, the competitiveness of solar cells based on large-area solar cells and multi-bus bar has been increasing. Multi-busbar solar module is a technology to reduce power loss by increasing the number and width of the front busbar of the solar cell and reducing the current value delivered by the busbar by half through half-cutting. In the case of the existing M2 (156.75×156.75 mm2) solar cell, even with a half-cut, power loss could be sufficiently reduced, but as the area of the solar cell is enlarged to more than M6 (166×166 mm2), the need for more divisions emerged. This affected not only solar cells but also inverters required for module array configuration. Therefore, in this study, the electrical characteristics of a large-area solar cell and after division were extracted using Griddler simulation. The output characteristics of the module were predicted by applying the solar cell parameters after division to PSPice, and a guideline for the large-area solar module design was presented according to the number of divisions of the large-area solar cell.
