Ferroelectricity of the $Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}$O$_3$-$PbTiO_3$ based Ceramics ($Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}$O$_3$-$PbTiO_3$계 세라믹스의 강유전성)

  • High-power piezoelectric materials are being developed for applications such as actuators and ultrasonic motors. In this paper, ferroelectric property of iron-doped 0.57 (Sc$_{1}$2//Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$-0.43 PbTiO$_3$. which is the morphotropic phase boundary composition for the PSN-PT system, was investigated. The maximum dielectric constant ( $\varepsilon$$_{33}$/$\varepsilon$$_{0}$ = 2551) and the minimum dielectric loss(tan $\delta$ = 0.51 %) at room temperature were obtained at 01. wt% and 0.3 wt% of iron additions. With additions of the Fe$_2$O$_3$ the electromechanical coupling factor of radial mode k$_{p}$ and the piezoelectric coefficient d$_{33}$ were slightly decreased, on the other hand the mechanical quality factor was increased significantly. The highest mechanical quality factor (Qm= 297) was obtained at 0.3 wt% Fe$_2$O$_3$, which is 4.4 times larger than that of pure 0.57 PSN-0.43PT ceramics. The temperature dependence of the dielectric constant and dielectic loss was observed between 2$0^{\circ}C$ and 35$0^{\circ}C$ .X> .X> .

Effect of the processing variables on the formation of $Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ thin layers ($Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ 박막 형성에 미치는 공정변수의 영향)

  • Effect of the processing variables on the formation of $Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$(hereafter PSN) thin layers prepared on Pt(111)/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrates using the sol-gel and the spin coating method has been studied. After each deposition, the coated films were heated at $370^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. Then they were finally sintered at temperature range of $600{\sim}700^{\circ}C$ by RTA(rapid thermal annealing). The final multilayered films showed a (111) preferred orientation. On a while, the layer-by-layer crystallization of multilayered amorphous thin films without the intermediate heating exhibited a (100) preferred orientation. In case of heat treatment in the tube furnace with the heating rate of $4^{\circ}C/min$, (100) and (111) oriented thin layers were formed simultaneously. The microstructure of the deposited films were dense and crack-free with thickness of 300nm, irrespective of the processing variables.

Piezoelectric Properties of PSN-PMN-PT-PZ System (TSN-PMN-PT-PZ계 압전특성)

  • The piezoelectric properties and temperatureproperties of resonant frequency of the pseudoquaternary soild solution 0.075 Pb(Sb$\frac{1}{2}$Nb$\frac{1}{2}$)O3-0.025 Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3-(0.9-x) PbZrO3 were investigated. The composition range examined are 0.32 x 0.57. Specimens were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide technique, calcined at 850$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour and sintered at 1270$^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours under PbO atmosphere. From the results of XRD, dielectric and piezoelectric properties, it is supposed that the MPB composition between tetragonal and rhombohedral ferroelectric perovskite exists in 0.42$^{\circ}C$ was considered at the nearby MPB.

  • The solid solutions of the Pb(Sc$\_$0.5/Nb$\_$0.5/)$\_$0.57/Ti$\_$0.43/O$_3$ system were prepared. In the PSNT system, it had been known that two-phase region between the rhombohedral and tetragonal phases was observed between 0.425 of PT at room temperature. In this paper, Fe$_2$O$_3$-doped 0.57PSN-0.43PT composition was prepared by conventional method. The dielectric and strain properties were examined using an computerized measuring apparatus, and the resonance characteristics were measured using an impedance gain phase analyzer. We got the data of dielectric constant, dielectric loss, piezoelectric coefficient, piezoelectric voltage coefficient, frequency constant strain constant mechanical quality factor and electromechanical coupling factor.

  • High power piezoelectric materials are presently being extensively developed for applications such as ultrasonic motors and piezoelectric transformer In this study, the piezoelectric and dielectric properties of $MnO_2$ doped $0.36Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}-0.25Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_{3}-0.39PbTiO_3$ (hereafter PSNNT), which is the morphotropic phase boundary composition of the PSN-PNN-PT system were investigated. $MnO_2$-addition into the $0.36Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}-0.25Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_{3}-0.39PbTiO_3$ composition increases the piezoelectric coefficient up to $k_{p}{\fallingdotseq}$55.6[%] and $Q_{m}{\fallingdotseq}$252. Moreover, $MnO_2$ addition makes tetragonal phase more stable with respect to rhombohedral phase.

  • PSN-PT 2성분계 압전세라믹스의 상도로부터 유전적, 압전적 특성이 양호한 MPB (Morphotropic phase boundary)부근의 조성을 선택하여 도너 도펀트인 $Nb_2O_5$와 억셉터 도펀트인 $Fe_2O_3$를 각각 $0{\sim}9wt%$ 첨가하여 유전특성을 비교, 연구해보았다 시편모두 $1250^{\circ}C$이상에서 이론밀도의 96%이상의 값을 얻을 수 있었고 상온, 1kHz에서 $Fe_2O_3$의 경우 0.1wt% 첨가된 시편에서 ${\varepsilon}_r=2054$의 최대 비유전율이 나타났으며, 0.7wt% 첨가된 시편에서는 $tan{\delta}$=0.49%의 최소 유전 손실값을 얻었다. 도펀트가 첨가됨에 따라 ${\varepsilon}_r$는 점점 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 큐리온도 Tc는 $Fe_2O_3$의 경우에서 더 큰 값이 나타났다. $Nb_2O_5$의 경우 도펀트의 증가에 따라 완만한 Relaxor의 형태로 나타났다.
