Optimized doping density and doping profile of pn junction for using high power device

  • 본 논문에서는 dopant density에 의존적인 pn junction의 breakdown 특성을 향상시키기 위하여, doping density와 doping profile에 대하여 분석했다. Doping density와 doping profile은 역방향 junction breakdown voltage를 결정하는 중요한 요소인 공핍영역의 두께와 공핍영역 내에 인가되는 electric field를 결정한다. Uniform doping profile과 Gaussian doping profile을 비교했고, 고전압 환경에서 사용할 수 있는 소자를 제작하는데 더욱 적절한 doping profile과 doping 농도에 대해 기술했다.

  • Aerospace engine application needs to stand high temperature and pressure. Because of its mechanical properties such as high strength at high temperature, Alloy 718 is used aerospace engine application about 80%. But alloy 718's mechanical properties cause some problem to manufacturing profile ring like damage of material and mold. In this study, alloy 718's mechanical properties investigated for knowing its formability and using FE-Simulation for designing profile ring roll process and mold shape. Profile ring rolling processing is designed with "Initial material$\rightarrow$Blank$\rightarrow$Linear Ring$\rightarrow$Profilering". Blank's heating temperature is setting $1100^{\circ}C$ for manufacturing a trial profile ring on the basis of FE-Simulation. As a result of manufacturing alloy 718 profile ring, it is possible to make near target profile shape ring with all of the processing condition which gives in this study.

A Study on Correction of the Gear Tooth Profile Error by Finish Roll Forming (전조가공을 이용한 기어의 치형오차수정에 관한 연구)

  • This study deals with the correction of gear tooth profile error by finish roll forming. First, we experimentally confirmed that the tooth profile error is a synthesis of the concave error and the pressure angle error. Since various types of tooth profile errors appear in the experiments, we introduced evaluation parameters for rolling gears to objectively evaluate profile quality. Using these evaluation parameters, we clarified the relationship among the tooth profile error, the addendum modification factor (A. M. factor), and the tool loading force. We verified the character of concave error, pressure angle error, tool loading force and number of cycles of finish roll forming by using a forced displacement method. This study makes clear that tool loading force and number of cycles of finish roll forming are very important factors that affect involute tooth profile error. The results of the experiment and analysis show that the proposed method reduces concave and pressure angle errors.

Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Analysis of a Lundberg Profile-type Cylindrical Roller (Lundberg형 프로파일의 원통형 로울러의 탄성유체윤활 해석)

  • The rollers and/or races in cylindrical and tapered roller bearings should be profiled to relieve high edge stress concentrations caused by their finite lengths and misalignment. In this study, a numerical analysis was performed to investigate the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) of a Lundberg profile-type cylindrical roller. A finite difference method with fully nonuniform grids and the Newton-Raphson method were used to present detailed EHL pressure distributions and film shapes, as well as the variations in the minimum and central film thicknesses with the profile modification coefficient. In the Lundberg profile, the maximum pressure and minimum film thickness always occurred near the edges. Proper modification of the Lundberg profile considerably increased the minimum film thickness.

Experimental study on flexural strength of modular composite profile beams

  • This study suggests modular composite profile beams, where the prefab concept is applied to existing composite profile beams. The prefab concept produces a beam of desired size having two types of profile: side module and bottom module. Module section will improve construction efforts because it offers several benefits : reduction of deflections due to creep and shrinkage, which might be found in existing composite profile beams; increase in span/depth ratio; and free prefabrication of any required beams. Based on the established analysis theory of composite profile beams, an analysis theory of modular composite profile beams was suggested, and analysis values were compared with experimental ones. The behavior of individual modules with increase of load was measured with a strain gauge, and the shear connection ratio between modules was analyzed by using the measured values. As a result of experiment, it was found that theoretical flexural strength on condition of full connection was 57%-80% by connection of modules for each specimen, and it is expected that flexural strength will approximate the theoretical levels through further module improvement.

  • It is a study on the design of a cam profile for diesel engine SOHC. It is used a reverse engineering method without the usual copy processing. It draws up the contour data from an actual cam and processes by CNC. The profile of the cam is reappeared to be up to operational specifications that are the opening and shutting time, lift, speed and acceleration of the inhalation and escape valves. While the cam operating, the noise and vibration are occurred by the sudden change of speed. The new design of cam profile is suitable fur the valve operations to be smooth. We propose the design method of a cam profile far the reappearance of an actual cam. It is proved to be the propriety about the design of the cam profile through the processing, measurement, and comparison of the cam profile.

Development of Diagnostic System for Winding Profile Abnormality of Hot Coils (열연코일 권취형상 불량 자동진단 시스템 개발)

  • On the contrary to the increasing needs of shape qualities, most of quality inspections are carried out by manual or operator's insight. To find the causes of shape inferiority, it is required to gather and analyze the shape measurement data. As a result the winding profile measurement system ($TELE-SCANNER^{(R)}$) is developed to analyze the coiling process and automate the manual measuring process for winding profile of hot-rolled coils. The winding profile measurement system measures and analyzes winding profile shapes of hot-rolled coils, and classifies them into several dominant patterns that are related to normal or abnormal mechanical conditions of down-coiler. The system also contains analysis software to quantify the winding profile shapes and patterns, and to produce statistics to help search the causes of profile shape inferiority.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for precisely measuring the abrasion of the railway using an image processing technique. To calculate the wear of the rails, we provided a method for accurately matching the standard rail profile data and the profile data acquired by the rail inspection vehicle. After the lens distortion correction and the perspective transformation of the measured profile data, we used ICP Algorithm for accurate profile data matching with the reference profile extracted from the standard rail drawing. We constructed the prototype of the Rail Profile Measurement System for High-speed Railway and the experimental result on the three type of the standard rail used in Korea showed the excellent profile matching accuracy within 0.1mm.

  • A numerical method is proposed to synthesize automotive cam profiles. An arbitrary acceleration profile for the cam follower motion is divided into several segments, each of them is described by a Hermite curve. A cam profile is defined by control point locations and control variables assigned to each segment. Closed form equations are derived for velocity and displacement constraints which should be satisfied for the curve to be a cam profile. Because the method is flexible and provide arbitrary local controllability, any types of cam acceleration profile can be reproduced by the method. The method is expecially useful for the design of roller type OHC valve trains which need precise local control in the cam profile design to avoid under-cutting problems.

  • In this paper, a profile management system consisting of global and local range finders is presented for the automat ion of material pile handling. A global range finder detects range data of the front part of the piles of material and a profile map is obtained from a 3D profile detection algorithm. A local range finder attached on the side of the arm of the reclaimer detects range data with the handling function dynamically, and a local profile patch is acquired from the range data A yard profile map manager constructs a map by using the 3D profile of the global range finder and revises the map by replacing it with the local profile patch obtained Iron the local range finder. The developed vision system was applied to a simulator and the results of test show that it is appropriate to use for automating the material handling.
