Bi-layer Gravure Printed Organic Light Emitting Layers with MEH-PPV and Rubrene

  • In this work, we have compared OLED devices made of blended MEH-PPV/Ruburene mixture and MEH-PPV/Rubrene bi-layer structure devices. The emission layers were made with two different ways - one with gravure printed single layer of blended mixture of MEH-PPV and rubrene, the other with gravure printed bilayers of MEH-PPV and rubrene. Both brightness and efficiency with gravure printed bi-layer devices were higher than blended devices. In this work, we demonstrated that organic bi-layers can be formed with gravure printing technology and higher efficiency can be achieved with bi-layer structure than with blended single layer structure.

  • Organic-based electroluminescent devices have attracted lots of interests because of their possible application as large-area flat pan디 display. In this study, current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of MEH-PPV thin films was investigated using various metal as a top electrode, where MEH-PPV thin films were prepared on 170 substrate by spin coating method and various metal such as Al, Ag, In, MgIn was deposited on MEH-PPV thin films as a top electrode.

  • Organic Electroluminescence device, which have the single-layer structure of ITO(indium-tin-oxide)/MEH-PPV (Poly [2-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-5-methoxy-1, 4-phenylenevinylene])/Al(aluminium) and ITO/MEH-PPV/Alq$_3$(tris-8-hydroxyquinolinato aluminium)/Al were fabricated and electrical properties were investigated. Experimental results, in single-layer structure, shown that alum on voltage is about 12 V, and current density increases as a function of increasing temperature. It was explained by thermionic emission. In double-layer structure, thickness 200 $\AA$ of Alq$_3$ is shown electrical properties that turn on voltage is about 11V, and current density decreases as a function of increasing temperature.

  • AC impedance measurements on poly-p-phenylenevinylene (PPV) LEDs in the frequency range between 10 Hz and 10$\^$6/ Hz were carried out. The complex-plane impedance spectra indicate that PPV devices can be represented by equivalent circuits that corresponds to the bulk and interfacial regions at high and low frequencies, respectively. As a result of complex impedance analysis through the separation of bulk and interfacial region impedances, increase of forward bias in Al/PPV/ITO devices gave rise to relative decrease of the interfacial region impedance. Above the electric field of 10$\^$6/ V/cm the PPV device showed a space charge limited current (SCLC) conduction. The dependence of the transport mechanism and dielectric properties on the applied bias voltage is discussed.

  • Polymer/nanoparticle hybrids have been increasingly studied because of their enhanced properties for organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). In this study, we made poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) nanohybrid films by incorporation of Ag and $SiO_2$ nanoparticles into the PPV. A possible interaction between nanoparticles was investigated and especially we focused whether there is a change in the interaction between $SiO_2$ or Ag nanoparticles and matrix or not. The current characteristics of PPV nanohybrid films were analyzed by I-V and EL measurements. The optical properties were also investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence measurements.

  • In this study, MEH-PPV was synthesized and MEH-PPV and its mixtures with PMMA were deposited on substrates with Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique and their photoluminescent char acteristics were investigated using UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, and photoluminescence(PL) measurements. The surface morphology of the LB films of MEH-PPV and its mixture with PMMA were investigated using Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM). Electroluminescent devices using LB films were fabricated with Al and ITO as a top and bottom electrode, respectively, and their I-V characteristics were investigated.

Notable mutations of porcine parvovirus 1 and 4 circulating in commercial pig farms in South Korea

  • In this study, almost complete genomic sequences of porcine parvovirus (PPV)1 and PPV4 circulating in commercial pig farms in South Korea were obtained and analyzed. Important mutations that may be precursors to host changes, such as premature stop codons of PPV1 and frameshift mutations of PPV4, were observed in these sequences. A 27a-like strain of PPV1, known to show a lack of cross- neutralization against existing commercial vaccine strains, was identified by phylogenetic analysis. Given the active genetic evolution, the additional precursors to host changes and emerging new genotypes of PPVs need to be monitored through continuous sampling and genetic analysis.

LiF 음극 버퍼층을 사용한 폴리머의 효율 향상에 관한 임피던스 분석 (Impedance spectroscopy analysis of polymer light emitting diodes with the LiF buffer layer at the cathode/organic interface)

  • Admittance Spectroscopic analysis was applied to study the effect of LiF buffer layer and to model the equivalent circuit for poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene) (MEH-PPV)-based polymer light emitting diodes (PLEDs) with the LiF cathode buffer layer. The single layer device with ITO/MEH-PPV/Al structure can be modeled as a simple parallel combination of resistor and capacitor. Insertion of a LiF layer at the Al/MEH-PPV interface shifts the highest occupied molecular orbital level and the vacuum level of the MEH-PPV layer as a result the barrier height for electron injection at the Al/MEH-PPV interface is reduced. The admittance spectroscopy measurement of the devices with the LiF cathode buffer layer shows reduction in contact resistance ($R_c$), parallel resistance ($R_p$) and increment in parallel capacitance ($C_p$).

  • 본 연구에서는 ITO/PEDOT:PSS//PFO:MEH-PPV/LiF/Al 구조를 갖는 고분자 유기발광다이오드를 제작하여 발광 도펀트인 MEH-PPV의 농도에 따른 황색 PLED 소자의 전기 광학적 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. MEH-PPV의 농도를 각각 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 wt% 로 변화시켜 소자를 평가한 결과 9 wt%의 농도에서 가장 우수한 전기 및 광학적 특성을 보였으며, 16 V의 인가전압에서 약 630 cd/$m^2$의 휘도 특성과 256 mA/$cm^2$의 전류밀도 특성이 관찰되었다. 또한 10 wt%의 소자에서는 오히려 낮은 광학적 특성이 관찰되어 9 wt%에서 도펀트의 농도가 포화됨이 관찰되었고, 제작된 소자의 색좌표 (CIE coordiante)는 모든 소자에서 (x, y = 0,49, 0.49)로 거의 동일하게 나타났다.

Improvement of Fluid Transfer Using Pneumatic Fracturing, Plasma Blasting, and Vacuum Suction

  • This study explored the fluid transfer characteristics of simultaneous pneumatic blasting, plasma blasting, and vacuum suction (the PPV method), and assessed their effect. Chemical oxidation-an established soil remediation method-was compared as a control. Electrical resistivity surveys found that PPV reduced resistivity by about 1.5-2.5 times compared with the control group, indicating that it increased the diffusion of fluid between the injection and suction wells. Injection and suction tests comparing the injection flow rate, initial suction flow rate time, and suction flow rate showed that the PPV method offered an improvement over the existing method. Slug tests revealed that PPV increased the permeability coefficient by a greater amount than that by the control method. This study qualitatively and quantitatively confirmed that the PPV method clearly improves injection and suction efficiency by accelerating cracks in the ground and improving water permeability compared with the established chemical oxidation method.
