R-410A/POE 오일 혼합물의 기-액상평형과 상용성에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium and Miscibility for R-410A/POE Oil Mixtures)

  • The vapor-liquid equilibrium and miscibility measurement apparatus was developed and used to obtain data for refrigerant/oil mixture. The vapor-liquid equilibrium and miscibility data for R-410a/POE32 and R-410A/POE46 oil mixtures are obtained over the temperature range from -20 to $60^{\circ}C\;with\;10^{\circ}C$ intervals and the oil concentration range from 0 to 90 wt%. Using the experimental data, an empirical model is developed to predict the temperature-pressure-concentration relations for R-410A/POE oil mixtures at equilibrium. In the R-410A/POE32 oil mixture, the average root-mean-square deviation between measured data and calculated results from the empirical model is 2.00% and in the R-410a/POE46 oil mixture, that is 3.69%. Flory-Huggins theory is also used to predict refrigerant/oil mixture behavior. Miscibility for R-410A/POE32 oil mixture was observed all over the experimental conditions. Immiscibility for R-410A/POE46 oil mixture was observed at the low oil concentrations(10~30 wt%).

  • An experimental study was conducted to analyze the thermal stability and to estimate the lifetime of refrigerating lubricants. PAG and POE oil are considered as a test fluids in this study. The viscosity of PAG and POE oil was measured by the vibration type viscometer while temperature is varied periodically in the range of $0^{\circ}C{\sim}100^{\circ}C$. The results indicate that the reduction rates of viscosity of PAG and POE oil were less than 5% after 510 cycles. In order to estimate lifetime of PAG and POE oil with temperature, the viscosity was measured while the temperature of oils was maintained at 180, 200 and $220^{\circ}C$. It is found that the lifetimes of PAG oil were shown to be 244, 177 and 89 hours at the temperature of 180, 200 and $220^{\circ}C$, respectively. Also the lifetimes of POE oil were estimated to be 1,744, 1,007 and 334 hours at the temperature of 180, 200 and $220^{\circ}C$, respectively. The lifetime correlations of PAG and POE oil are suggested in this paper.

  • This study has been conducted to select the suitable refrigeration oil for a $CO_2$ refrigeration system. The oil return is one of the most important characteristics for refrigeration oils. PAG and POE oils are considered as a test fluids in this study. An evaporator model is employed to simulate the evaporator of a $CO_2$ refrigeration system. Oil return characteristics has been investigated for $CO_2$/PAG and $CO_2$/POE mixtures in the range of oil concentration 0 to 5 weight-percent and the mixture temperature range of $0^{\circ}C$ to $15^{\circ}C$. The results obtained indicate that oil return is decreased with an increase in the oil concentration and mixture temperature for both POE and PAG oils. It is also found that POE oil is seen to be superior than PAG oil in terms of oil return in an evaporator of a $CO_2$ refrigeration system.

  • A vibrating U-Tube decimeter has been evaluated as a sensor for measuring the concentration of oil in the liquid line of a refrigeration system. Calibration and performance tests were conducted under simulated liquid-line conditions for R-407C/POE oil and R-410A/POE oil mixtures in oil concentration from 0 to 15 weight percent. Test temperatures ranged from 20 to 5$0^{\circ}C$. As a result of test, oil concentration correlations are presented in terms of specific gravity at each constant temperature. These equations enable to predict the oil concentration without any extraction of the mixture, and can be applied for R-407C/POE oil and R-410A/POE oil mixtures.

Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of $CO_2$/Oil Mixtures in a Circular Tube

  • The present study is directed at flow and heat transfer of $CO_2$ and oil mixtures in a circular tube. PAG and POE oils are considered in this study. Flow characteristics of $CO_2$ and oil mixtures have been investigated by flow visualization. Pressure drop has been measured in the range of operating mass flow rate from 0.1 to 0.4 kg/min in a circular tube. Heat transfer characteristics of $CO_2$/oil mixtures have been investigated using a counterflow heat exchanger. In case of pure liquid $CO_2$ as well as $CO_2$ and POE mixtures, flow are seen to be uniform so that $CO_2$ and POE oil are still miscible even at flowing state. However, it is found that $CO_2$ and PAG are not miscible. Pressure drop of $CO_2$/PAG mixtures are much higher than that of $CO_2$/POE mixtures as well as pure $CO_2$ at a fixed mass flow rate. As the concentration of POE oil is increased from 0 to 5 wt%, pressure drop is increased. However, heat transfer rate and heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$/POE mixtures are much higher than that of $CO_2$/PAG mixtures. The f-factor correlation and Nusselt number correlation for $CO_2$/POE oil mixtures are suggested in this paper.

Thermal Stability and Lifetime Prediction of PAG and POE Oils for a Refrigeration System

The lifetime of oils is estimated as the decrease in viscosity change by 15%. The results indicate that the reduction rates of viscosity of PAG and POE oil are less than 5% after 510 temperature variation cycles. However, when the oils are kept at high temperature, it is found that the lifetimes of PAG oil is seen to be 244, 177 and 89 hours at the test temperature of $180,\;200\;and\;220^{\circ}C$, respectively, where as the lifetimes of POE oil are estimated to be 1,744, 1,007 and 334 hours at the temperature of $180,\;200\;and\;220^{\circ}C$, respectively. Thus, the lifetime of POE oil is found to be much longer than that of PAG oil. The lifetime correlations of PAG and POE oil are also obtained by Arrhenius's equation method in this paper.

  • The solubility and miscibility measurement apparatus was developed and used to obtain data for refrigerant/oil mixture. The solubility and miscibility data for R-410A/68 ISO VG polyol ester (POE) oil mixture are obtained over the temperature range from -20 to $60^{circ}C\;with\;10^{\circ}C$ intervals and the oil concentration range from 0 to 90 wt%. Using the experimental data, an empirical model was developed to predict the solubility relations for R-410A/POE oil mixture at equilibrium. In the R-410A/Solest 68 oil mixture, the average root-mean-square deviation between measured data and calculated results from the empirical model is 3.4% and in the R-4104/EMKARATE RL 68H oil mixture, that is 2.86%. For R-410A/68 ISO VG POE oil mixture immiscibility was usually observed at the low oil concentrations(5~30 wt%) over the all experimental temperature range($-20~60^{circ}C$) and at the high oil concentrations(50~90 wt%) over the low experimental temperature range($-2O~0^{circ}C$).

  • 유화, 가용화, 겔화 등의 화장품 제형에서 폴리옥시에칠렌 토코페릴에테르의 기능에 대해 연구하였다. Liquid paraffin의 유화에 있어서 POE(10)TE는 O/W 유화에서 우수한 유화능을 나타내었다. W/o 및 O/W 유화에서 oil 과 polyol 류의 함량 증가가 점도에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 연구하였다. O/W 유화에서 점도는 liquid paraffin 약 70% 함량에서 급격히 증가하기 시작하였으며, propylene glycol 첨가시는 약간의 증가만 나타내었다. 그러나 W/O 유화에서 점도는 liquid paraffin의 함량 증가에 따라 감소하였고, propylene glycol함량 증가에 대해서도 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. Perfume oil의 가용화에 있어서 POE(18)TE는 우수한 가용화능을 나타내었다. Poe(n)TE의 gelling effect는 폴리옥시에칠렌의 사슬의 증가에 따라 50 mol 까지는 상승하는 현상을 나타내었다.

$CO_2$ 냉동시스템용 PAG오일과 POE오일의 항흡습성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Non-hygroscopic Propertiy of PAG and POE Oils for a $CO_2$ Refrigeration System)

  • This study has been conducted to select the suitable refrigeration oil for a $CO_2$ refrigeration system. Non-hygroscopic property of refrigeration oils is one of the most important properties for refrigeration oils. PAG and POE oils are considered as test oils in this study. Transient variation of water content of PAG and POE oils was measured for 3 different vessels in the environmental conditions, such as in the range of temperature $25^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity 40% to 85%. The results obtained that water content of both POE and PAG is increased with an increase in the contact area with ambient for 3 different vessels. It is also found that water content of both POE and PAG is increased as the ambient temperature and relative humidity is increased. Non-hygroscopic property of POE oil is found to be much superior than that of PAG oil.

고압유화장치를 이용한 emulsion의 제조 (Preparation f emulsion by Microfluidizer)

  • 고압유화 장치인 Microflridizer를 이용하여 4성분계의 emulsion을 제조하기 위한 최적조건을 알아보았다. Oil은 squalane, isopropyl myristate, PPG-15 stearyl benzoate ester를 사용하였으며, surfactant는 POE(20) sorbitan monolaurate, POE(20) sorbitan monopalmitate, POE(20) sorbitan monostearate를, cosuractant는 glycerine을 사용하여 Micro-fluidizer의 작업압력 및 순환횟수, oil의 종류 및 농도, cosurfactant의 농도에 따른 eumlsion의 상태를 비교하였다. 입자의 크기는 작업압력 및 순환횟수가 증가함에 따라 감소율이 점점 둔화되었으며 이 때의 적정압력은 1400bar 정도, 순환횟수는 4회 정도임을 알았다. 또한 cosurfactant인 glycerine의 농도가 30wt.%일 때 가장 작은 emulsion입자를 얻을 수 있었고, oil의 농도가 증가할수록 입자의 크기는 증가하는 현상을 나타내었다.
