HIL based LNGC PMS Simulator's Performance Verification (HIL 기반 LNGC PMS 시뮬레이터의 성능 검증)

  • A power management system (PMS) has been an important part in a ship integrated control system. To evaluate a PMS for a liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC), this research proposes a real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS), which is composed of major component models such as turbine generator, diesel generator, governor, circuit breaker, and 3-phase loads on MATLAB/Simulink. In addition, FPGA based control console and main switchboard (MSBD) are constructed in order to develop an efficient control and a similar real environment in an LNGC PMS. A comparative study on the performance evaluation of PMS functions is conducted using two test cases for sharing electric power to consumers in an LNGC. The result shows that the proposed system has a high verification capability for the operating function and failure insertion evaluation as a PMS simulator.

Monitoring mRNA Expression Patterns in Macrophages in Response to Two Different Strains of Probiotics

  • As an initial study to elucidate the molecular mechanism of how probiotics modulate macrophage activity, we monitored mRNA expression patterns in peritoneal macrophages (PMs) treated with two different strains of probiotics. After treatment with either Weissella cibaria WIKIM28 or Latilactobacillus sakei WIKIM50, total RNAs from PMs were isolated and subjected into gene chip analyses. As controls, mRNAs from vehicle (phosphate-buffered saline, PBS)-treated PMs were also subjected to gene chip analysis. Compared to vehicle (PBS)-treated PMs, WIKIM28-treated and WIKIM50-treated PMs exhibited a total of 889 and 432 differentially expressed genes with expression differences of at least 4 folds, respectively. Compared to WIKIM28-treated PMs, WIKIM50-treated PMs showed 25 up-regulated genes and 21 down-regulated genes with expression differences of more than 2 folds. Interestingly, mRNA transcripts of M2 macrophage polarization marker such as anxa1, mafb, and sepp1 were increased in WIKIM50-treated PMs comparing to those in WIKIM28-treated PMs. Reversely, mRNA transcripts of M1 macrophage polarization marker such as hdac9, ptgs2, and socs3 were decreased in WIKIM50-treated PMs comparing to those in WIKIM28-treated PMs. In agreement with these observations, mRNA expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1α were significantly reduced in WIKIM50-treated macrophages compared to those in WIKIM28-treated macrophages. These results may indicate that probiotics can be classified as two different types depending on their ability to convert macrophages into M1 or M2 polarization.

  • In this study, developed economical and scientific Pavement Management System(PMS) that can produce suitable maintenance method through judgement and analysis of pavement condition exactly, to overcome past unscientific pavement management limitations. First, on the basis of data of the inside and outside of the country on PMS, composed logical algorithm such as pavement condition investigation and analysis, detailed naked eye investigation, whole system estimation etc., and it verified that this algorithm is suitable system through the inside and outside of the country PMS research examples and results of detailed naked eye investigation. Also, developed easily usable PMS program and PMS_GIS program with such logical algorithm.

Design Rules of Hybrid Stepping Machine for Free Piston Engine

  • This paper presents the hybrid stepping machine for linear oscillating generators. The focus of the work is the suggestion of the improved model through the comparison of proposed models ; new flux concentrating PMs mover of the hybrid stepping generator is proposed based on the symmetrical and non-symmetrical stator cores of the surface mounted PMs mover, and non-slanted PMs and slanted PMs of the flux concentrating PMs mover. It is achieved using equivalent magnetic circuit considering leakage elements. Finally, this study suggests new hybrid stepping structure of linear oscillating generator.

  • Objectives: The paper of 2001, China Medicine junguiyak stomach sickness9) proposed by the stomach is associated with digestive function, using dialectical gisulpyo PMS group to assess the patient's stomach function was to evaluate the diagnostic features. Methods: October 1, 2010 to November 15, 2010 women of childbearing age against a total of 25 people have responded to the survey was a random survey, 23 patients except two who were against the PMS 10 and 13 who were classified non-PMS group. Results: 1. Age group and non-PMS PMS theses, menstrual period is there was no statistically significant difference between the history of both the pill and had no information available on careers. 2. When comparing the total score PMS score was higher than in non-PMS group. This is a non-PMS PMS patients than in patients stomach functions normally fall. 3. Digestive function of the type of group, less PMS GanGi-woolche, Ganwool-Bihu, Bihu-Damsub, Hanyul-Chakchab significant difference in the items were found. 4. Digestive function of the type of group, less PMS GanGi-woolche the most significant was the type of apologetics. Conclusions: GanGi-woolche type was the most significant mental stress and autonomic tone of the PMS group, the higher the patient was likely to be included. Previously associated with HRV in the GanGi-woolche in a study evaluating the autonomic nervous system can be said to have relevance.

Effects of Premenstrual Syndrome Symptoms and Coping on Quality of Life in Elementary and Secondary Schools Female Teachers (초·중등 여교사의 월경전증후군 증상과 대처가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms and coping strategies on the health-related quality of life in elementary and secondary schools female teachers. Methods: 140 female teachers in C province were recruited using a correlational study design. The measurements used were the PMS symptoms scale, the PMS coping scale and the Korean version of health-related quality of life scale. Results: The higher quality of life were predicted by the lower PMS symptoms, the higher PMS coping, the better the quality of sleep, the lower the job and life stress, and the lower work disturbance due to the PMS symptoms. These variables explained 53% of the total variance. Conclusions: For better female teachers' health-related quality of life, health care programs for managing the PMS symptoms need to be developed by considering those identified variables. For health education practice, school health teachers need to distribute health educational materials for female teachers and to provide small-group health counselling services for PMS self care.

Inactivation of Escherichia coli and MS2 coliphage by Cu(II)-activated peroxomonosulfate in natural water

  • Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) in combination with Cu(II) was examined to inactivate E. coli and MS2 coliphage in natural water. The combined system (i.e., the Cu(II)/PMS system) caused a synergistic inactivation of E. coli and MS2, in contrast with either Cu(II) or PMS alone. Increasing the concentration of PMS enhanced the inactivation of E. coli and MS2, but after a certain point, it decreased the efficacy of the microbial inactivation. In the Cu(II)/PMS system, adding reactive oxidant scavengers marginally affected the E. coli inactivation, but the inhibitory effects of copper-chelating agents were significant. Fluorescent assays indicated that the Cu(II)/PMS system greatly increased the level of reactive oxidants inside the E. coli cells. The sequential addition of Cu(II) and PMS inactivated more E. coli than did adding the two simultaneously; in particular, the inactivation efficacy was much higher when Cu(II) was added first. The observations from the study collectively showed that the microbial inactivation by the Cu(II)/PMS system could be attributed to the toxicity of Cu(I) as well as the intracellular oxidative stress induced by Cu(III) or radical species.

Changes of Physico-chemical Properties of paper Mill Sludge amended with Pig Manure in Composting Process (제지슬러지와 돈분을 이용한 퇴비화 과정중 이화학적 특성 변화)

  • This study was conducted to determine the optimal mixing ratio of the paper mill sludge(PMS) and pig manure(PM). Since the former contains lots of total carbon and low nitrogen, it was used as carbon source. Also, dried paper mill sludge(DPMS) was added to the mixture to control the water content. The treatments was composed of four as follows, PMS-100(PM 0%+PMS 80%+DPMS 20%), PMS-85(15+65+20), PMS-70(30+50+20), and PMS-55(45+35+20). The mixtures were composted under aerobic condition in $1.25m^3$ static piles. The piles were aerated for 15 minutes per day and turned over the mixture once a week at the early stage of composting. To estimate the maturity of composts, the changes of physico-chemical properties such as temperature, pH, C/N ratio and color were monitored every week. The 25-30 and 55-60% as optimal condition of C/N ratio and moisture content were respectively recommended for effective composting by the evaluation of the changes of phsico-chemical properties for materials taken from compost files during the composting period. When the 30 and 45% of PM were mixed with PMS, the maturity time at least demanded to the stable state were shortened and the qualify of the final product was improved in a view of nutritional components.

  • In this paper, Power Management System(PMS) simulator for Liquid Nature Gas Carrier(LNGC) is developed. Major components of power system for LNGC, such as generator, diesel engine and governor, transformer, circuit breaker, and 3 phase loads models are built based on MATLAB/SIMULINK. With these designed major parts, PMS simulator modeling is carried out. Based on MATLAB/Graphical User Interface, PMS simulator control for LNGC, and Human Machine Interface for monitoring is designed. PMS simulator for LNGC carries out simulation according to sequence of characteristics analysis. By comparing results of predicted simulation for each sequence to that of characteristics analysis, the reliability of PMS simulator for LNGC will be verified.

A Study on the Impact of the PMS Quality on Performance in Information Systems Project (IS프로젝트에서 PMS 품질이 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • Recently because the IS development project is large scale and complicated, the necessity of tools that can manage effectively smooth communications and the harmonized project between the interested parties is exposed. According to this fact, many companies are investing enough to the PMS (Project Management System) for the sake of the systematic management of the IS development project, and also this PMS is emerging as one of the indispensable tools for the successful IS development project by casting off from a auxiliary means for the past project management. However, as had been expected, whether the introduction of the PMS is possible to facilitate communications within a project team, and a main motivation that can derive individual performance and organizational performance that participated in the IS development project is induced or not are not verified still empirically and apparently. With respect to this, a survey was conducted to examine how PMS quality affected user satisfaction, communication, individual performance and project performance. The effects of the data gathered were verified by structural equation model analysis.
