  • Finite difference method using not general SSG (standard staggered grid) but RSG (rotated staggered grid) was applied to simulation of elastic wave propagation. Special free surface boundary condition such as imaging method is needed in finite difference method using SSG in elastic wave propagation. But free surface boundary condition in finite difference method using RSG is easily solved with adding air layer or vacuum layer. Recently PML (Perfectly Matched layer) is widely used to eliminate artificial reflection waves from finite boundary because of its' greate efficiency. Absorbing ability of CPML (convolutional Perfectly Matched Layer) that is more efficient than that of PML and CPML that don't use splitting of wave equation that should be adapted to PML was applied to FDM using RSG in this study. Frequency absorbing characteristic and energy absorbing ability in CPML layer were investigated and CPML eliminated artificial boundary waves very effectively in FDM using RSG in being compared with that of Cerjan's absorbing method. CPML method also diminished amplitude of waves in boundary layer of solid-liquid model very well.

  • In this paper, we developed a numerical analysis model by using ADI-FDTD method to analyze three-dimensional interconnect structure. We discretized maxwell's curl equation by using ADI-FDTD. We introduced PML(Perfectly Matched Layer) absorbing boundary condition to solve the effect of the reflected wave at the interface. Evaluating the numerical model of PML and ADI-FDTD, we simulated the electric field distribution in time domain. We compare standard FDTD with ADI-FDTD, and analysis the result.

  • Leukemia in pregnancy was first reported by Virchow in 1845, and acute Leukemia that occurs with pregnancy is extremely rare. About 350 pregnancies with leukemia have been reported in literature. The incident of acute leukemia during pregnancy has been reported in one case per 100,000 pregnancies case. A 40-year-old patient with 30 weeks of pregnancy, (by promyelocyte which is contained granules and auer rods in the bone marrow and biopsy) was diagnosed with acute promyelocyte leukemia WITH t (15;17) (q22;q12); PML-RARA. (M3) in peripheral blood and bone marrow examination, and gave a birth to the fetus normally, January 24, 2013, after receiving the complete remission decision from the bone marrow, complete blood cell count, PML-RARA PCR test, showed normal findings until March 2013. The treatment of acute leukemia during pregnancy should be considered as treatment of a pregnant mother and the impact on the fetus. Decisions about when and how birth takes place is difficult and has to consider both mother and fetus. It is preferable to start immediate treatment without delay so that the treatment time to achieve complete remission or full recovery of the pregnant mother is longer.

  • This paper reports the frequency characteristics and the time response of parallel adjacent-transmission lines, crossed adjacent-transmission lines and parallel adjacent-transmission lines which are on the different planes by using FDTD-PML method. In the parallel adjacent-transmission lines, the crosstalks as a function of horizontal distance are calculated and in the crossed adjacent- transmission lines, the crosstalks as a function of vertical distance are simulated. Also, the crosstalks as functions of horizontal and vertical distances are measured and analyzed in the parallel adjacent-transmission lines which are on the different planes.

  • Growth hormone (GH) transgenesis in fish has the potential to improve aquaculture efficiency and capacity. However, many fast-growing transgenic fish have experienced side effects caused by excess GH expression. To overcome this unwanted issue associated with several GH transgenic mud loach Misgurnus mizolepis lines carrying GH construct driven by a strong ${\beta}$-actin regulator ($pml{\beta}$-actGH), we performed an alternative version of GH autotransgenesis using a weaker but more stable regulator, the mud loach lectin promoter. GH transgenesis with a pmlectGH construct consisting of the mud loach GH gene driven by the 2.3-kb lectin promoter exhibited significant growth stimulation. However, the extent of the growth acceleration in pmlectGH transgenics (six times maximum when assessed 2 months post hatching) was much less than that in transgenic individuals carrying the $pml{\beta}$-actGH construct. Additionally, the extraordinary gigantism that was common in $pml{\beta}$-actGH-transgenic mud loaches was diminished in transgenic loaches harboring the pmlectGH construct. Transgenic founders (pmlectGH) successfully transmitted their transgene into the next generation with up to 41% frequency. Growth stimulation also persisted in the transgenic F1 strains, with a seven-fold increase in maximum body weight at 6 months of age.

  • Chromosomal rearrangements are major pathology in hematological malignancies. The detection of minimal residual disease (MRD) for these gene rearrangements helps in monitoring treatment outcomes and predicting prognosis of patients. Recently, quantification of these gene transcripts based on real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) has been used as MRD detection. The purpose of this study is to ensure the usefulness of the RQ-PCR technique for detecting MRD in hamatological malignancy patients. The patients had been diagnosed to AML1-ETO positive AML, PML-RARa positive AML and BCR-ABL positive MPN at Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital from Jan. 2006 to Aug. 2008. The fusion transcript was quntified by RQ-PCR and analyzed in comparison to conventional cytogenetics, FISH and RT-PCR. The fusion gene transcript was quantified by RQ-PCR in 57 samples from 14 patients with AML1-ETO positive AML, 79 samples from 27 patients with PML-RARa positive AML and 108 samples from 36 patients with CML. At diagnosis, the quantitative fusion transcripts for AM1-ETO, PML-RARa and BCR-ABL showed the range of 0.485552651~10.82233683 (mean 3.782217131, SD 2.998052348), 0.005300395~0.29267494 (mean 0.056901315, SD 0.080131381) and 0.1293929~12.94826849 (mean 1.701935665, SD 2.200913158). The increase of AML1-ETO fusion gene transcripts preceded morphologic relapse in two patients. Quantification of fusion gene transcripts by RQ-PCR could detected MRD in samples which were negative by in cytogenetic analysis or FISH. Our findings indicated that quantitative analysis of AML1-ETO, PML-RARa and BCR-ABL transcripts by RQ-PCR might be a useful tool for the monitoring of minimal residual disease in hematological malignancies.

  • In this study, the effect of ground boundary conditions on the evaluation of blast resistance performance of precast arch structures was evaluated by a numerical analysis method. Two types of boundary conditions, namely, fixed boundary conditions and a perfectly matched layer (PML) were applied to numerical models. Blast loads that were much higher than the design load of the target structure were applied to compare the effects of the boundary conditions. The distribution and path of the ground explosion pressure, structural displacement, fracture of concrete, stress of concrete, and reinforcing bars were compared according to the ground boundary condition settings. As a result, the reflecting pressure shock wave at the ground boundaries could be effectively eliminated using PML elements; furthermore, the displacement of the foundation was reduced. However, no distinct difference could be observed in the overall structural behavior including the fracture and stress of the concrete and rebar. Therefore, when blast simulations are performed in the design of protective structures, it is rational to apply the fixed boundary condition on the ground boundaries as conservative design results can be achieved with relatively short computation times.

  • This paper presents a 3-D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method used for indoor propagation simulations where the electromagnetic wav eis uniformly excited on th eone of the wall in a building and affected by an indoor obstacles. In cases of simulation and measurement, the frequency of 851 MHz is used. The conductivities of walls, floor, ceiling and indoor obstacles are measured and used for simulations. These simulations are carried out using different boundary condition such as mur's absorbing boundary condition (ABC) and perfectly matched layer (PML) technique. The PML technique is found to be well-suited to this analysis because of it's smaller computational domain than mur's ABC. The measured signal strengths are compared to simulated values with good agreement.
