Site Monitoring of Crews and Passengers on Board by the BLE and PLM Combination (BLE와 PLM 조합의 승선자 위치 모니터링)

  • When unforeseen accidents occur in a ship, it is important to save passengers safely and remove them from the accident area quickly. To solve such a situation, site information of passengers on board always must be identified. This paper implemented a site monitoring of crews and passengers based on the BLE and PLM combination, to prepare for unexpected accidents of the ships. This system was composed of BLE tag for crews, passengers and each room, PLM networks, data server, and monitoring PC. In this system, site information derived from the tag attached to the bodies and cabins of crews and passengers are transmitted through a power line network, and monitored on the screen of a monitoring PC. The proposed system guides them into the only authorized area considering the ship security and passengers' safety, and even has a special alarm call to warn them after entering an unauthorized area. This system enables the BLE-embedded tag battery to use for a long time because the BLE consumes low electric power, and can gain an economic advantage.

  • This research analyzes the design work and construction work, which might be arising out of or during the procurement process of naval ships of the Korean Navy. This research also suggests the applicable information methodology driven out by utilizing PLM/POM tool, which could be one of practical solutions to the problems arising from the outcome of this analysis. As to the procedure and methodology of information technology of design and construction work of the ship, IPPD was adopted. Before its actual application, main contents of the IPPD were introduced in this research. And it's real application and subsequent concrete surroundings of IPDE were defined. In addition, addition, several detailed and necessary works to be fulfilled were defined, mainly focused on the application of IPDD for the design and construction stages of the ships suitable for the Korean Navy, And also, this analysis defines the main functions to be secured by adopting the PLM/POM tool and obtained the relevant functions partially herewith.

  • We studied about the lighting control system on pc using PLM(Power Line Modem). The PLM is composed of FSK IC-chip and the circuit for the power line communication. We developed the control program using visual c++ language on PC for dimming the lamps. In this paper dimming controller was made with PIC161F874 and its communication speed was 1200 boad rates.

A Study on the Application of UBC3D-PLM for Soil Liquefaction Analysis (액상화 해석을 위한 UBC3D-PLM의 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a model parameter evaluation method using relative density was proposed to utilize applicable UBC3D-PLM for liquefaction behavior. In addition, dynamic effective stress analysis, that is, liquefaction analysis, was performed on the case of the liquefaction occurrence region where acceleration and pore water pressure were measured, and compared with the actual measurement and the existing Finn analysis results. Through this study, it was found that the proposed method can easily evaluate the necessary parameters required by the related model and predict the pore water pressure behavior in the region where liquefaction occurs. In addition, in the case of the study area, both measurements and numerical analysis showed that liquefaction occurred when a certain amount of time elapsed after the earthquake acceleration reached the maximum value. In the case of UBC3D-PLM applied in this study, the excess pore water pressure behavior similar to the actual measurement was predicted, and the occurrence of liquefaction was evaluated in the same way as the actual measurement. In particular, although the excess pore water pressure in the sand layer was greater, the phenomenon in which liquefaction occurred in the silt layer was accurately realized. It is expected that the proposed model parameter evaluation method and finite element analysis applying UBC3D-PLM can be used to select the liquefaction reinforcement region in the future seismic design and reinforcement by evaluating the liquefaction occurrence region similarly to the real one.

  • Enhancing the performance of maritime wireless communication has been highlighted by the issue of cell planning in the sea area because of lack of an appropriate Propagation Loss Model (PLM). To resolve the cell planning issue in vast sea areas, it was essential to develop the (PLM) matching the intended sea area. However, there were considerable gaps between the prediction of legacy PLMs and field measurement in propagation loss and there was a need to develop the adjusted PLM (A-PLM). Therefore, cell planning was performed on this adjusted model, including modification of the base station's location, altitude, and antenna azimuth to meet the quality objectives. Furthermore, in order to verify the availability of the cell planning, Communication Service Quality Monitoring System (CS-QMS) was developed in the LTE-Maritime project to collect LTE signal quality information from the onboard equipment at regular intervals and to ensure that the service quality was high enough to satisfy the goals in each designated grid. As a result of verification, the success rate of RSRP was 95.7% for the intensive management zone (IMZ) and 96.4% for the interested zone (IZ), respectively.

  • A web-based program life-cycle management(PLM) system is introduced to implement the system engineering processes and to provide the development teaceability online. This information system aims for the realization of essential system engineering management techniques currently applied to the space launch system development program including management of configuration and data based on the work breakdown structure(WBS), WBS, bill of materials and properties. The system enhances communication and gives access to the development data with relevant information such as data-to-data relation and approval status/history through the web, and preserve all of the development data throughout the program life-cycle. Further improvement of the system is planned to implement the program managrment pricesses and to provide integrated information useful for the programmatic decision making.

  • In this paper we propose an engineering bill of materials (E-BOM) copy method that can be utilized to manage the product information for each equipment during building a product lifecycle management (PLM) system in the order-specific semiconductor equipment manufacturer. The previous works studied on an E-BOM creation and management method for the mass manufacturing and production. The method is difficult to apply to an environment in which many engineering changes occur and the different specification to each equipment is required such as semiconductor equipments and facilities adopting built-to-order instead of built for inventory. Moreover the method is known to be the major drawback to deteriorate the design efficiency. Our E-BOM copy method enables users efficiently to manage the specification of a product and shortens the product development cycle. To implement the E-BOM copy method in the PLM environment, we developed the E-BOM copy system that automatically generates new parts and their numbers according to the numbering rule while copying the E-BOM from existing semiconductor equipments and then can apply the parts for reuse to new semiconductor equipments. This system can duplicate not only 3D CAD data but also technical documents.
