Computer Aided Engineering Design of Power Injection Molding Process for Dental Scaler Top Mold Design

  • Powder Injection Molding (PIM) has recently been recognized as an advanced manufacturing technology for low-cost mass production of metal or ceramic parts of complicated geometry. With this regards, design technology of dental scaler tip PIM mold, which has complex shape, with the help of computer-aided analysis for powder injection molding process was developed. Compter aided analysis results, such as filling pattern, weldline formation, and air vent position prediction were investigated and eventually showed good agreements with experimental results.

  • In recent years, micro powder injection molding $(\mu-PIM)$ is being explored as an economical fabrication method for microcomponents in microsystems technology (MST). Technical and economic comparison was performed for $\mu-PIM$ processes. Molding experiment and simulation during the filling process were performed to evaluate several different geometries and processing conditions. The influence of material parameters and process conditions on mold filling were examined as a function of features size using microchannels as an example. It was found that the heat conductivity and viscosity of feedstock, geometry and mold temperature were the most critical parameters for complete filling of micro features.

  • 본 논문은 PDA와 PC의 무선 동기화를 이용한 개인 일정 관리 시스템(PIMS)을 구현하였다. 기존의 PIMS는 PDA와 PC간의 일정 데이터를 동기화함에 있어서 양단을 유선으로 연결하는 방식을 채택하고 있다 그러나 유선 방식을 이용할 경우에는 공간상의 제약을 받게 된다. 또한 PDA는 입력을 위한 키보드가 없으므로 펜(스타일러스)를 이용하는 불편한 입력방식을 채택하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 TCP/IP 소켓을 이용한 데이터의 무선 동기화 기술을 PIMS에 적용시키고, PIMS 사용자의 편의를 제공하기 위해 음성을 통한 정보 입력방식을 구현 하였다 본 연구에서 구현된 시스템은 PDA를 이용하여 사용자가 최신의 일정 정보를 얻게 되는 장점이 있다. 무선 동기화와 음성 입력 방식을 도입함으로 인해 PDA 사용자로 하여금 공간상의 제약을 극복하여 이동성을 향상시켰으며 PIMS의 조작을 용이하게 하였다.

  • 활용도가 높아지고 있는 최근의 딥러닝 애플리케이션 등을 사용하기 위해서 기존의 CPU 구조로는 한계가 있어 GPU, TPU 등의 하드웨어로 가속하려는 노력이 있어왔다. 하지만 물리적인 제약으로 인해 메모리 대역폭에 한계가 있으며, 이를 뛰어넘기 위해 메모리 안에서 직접 연산을 수행하는 Processing-in-Memory 기술이 떠오르고 있다. 본 논문은 PIM 기술을 사용할 때의 불이익을 감수하면서 장점을 최대한 활용하는 방법들에 관해서 서술하였다.

Performance Analysis and Identifying Characteristics of Processing-in-Memory System with Polyhedral Benchmark Suite (프로세싱 인 메모리 시스템에서의 PolyBench 구동에 대한 동작 성능 및 특성 분석과 고찰)

  • In this paper, we identify performance issues in executing compute kernels from PolyBench, which includes compute kernels that are the core computational units of various data-intensive workloads, such as deep learning and data-intensive applications, on Processing-in-Memory (PIM) devices. Therefore, using our in-house simulator, we measured and compared the various performance metrics of workloads based on traditional out-of-order and in-order processors with Processing-in-Memory-based systems. As a result, the PIM-based system improves performance compared to other computing models due to the short-term data reuse characteristic of computational kernels from PolyBench. However, some kernels perform poorly in PIM-based systems without a multi-layer cache hierarchy due to some kernel's long-term data reuse characteristics. Hence, our evaluation and analysis results suggest that further research should consider dynamic and workload pattern adaptive approaches to overcome performance degradation from computational kernels with long-term data reuse characteristics and hidden data locality.

Soil Nitrogen Mineralization Influenced by Continuous Application of Livestock Manure Composts (가축분퇴비가 연용된 밭 토양에서 잠재적 질소 무기화량 추정)

  • The characteristics of nitrogen mineralization in upland soil was studied with 27-week incubation at $25^{\circ}C$. The used soils in this experiment were received six kinds of livestock manure compost each year for four years. Six different composts, which were chicken (CHM), pig (PIM), and cow (COM) manure composted without bulking agent, and chicken (CHMS), pig (PIMS), and cow (COMS) manure composted with sawdust as a bulking agent, were selected for this study. The first-order model was fit to the observed mineral nitrogen (N) vs incubation days using a non-linear regression procedure. The soil potential for N mineralization (No) of manure compost (CHM, PIM, and COM) treated soils were higher than those of the manure-sawdust compost (CHMS, PIMS, and COMS) treated soils. The No value of PIM applied soil was 15.0 mg 100 $g^{-1}$, which was the highest value among the treatments. The amount of N mineralized in compost applied soils ranged from 8.1% to 11.9% of the total N content in soils and increased with increasing total N content in soils. The organic matter content in compost applied soils were negatively correlated with No value (r = $-0.69^*$). Therefore, our result indicated that determination of N application rate in livestock manure compost applied soil should be based on total nitrogen content better than soil organic matter content.

  • Being able to resolve huge problems deriving from integration of information systems in-house or business to business, the web service that uses the XML standard technology has recently taken a quick dominance the next generation e-business bases. It's one constant concern how to integrate, change, and maintain such systems as based on certain technologies according to the changes to information technology, which is on the ongoing process of evolution. To help solve those problems, OMG suggested a new software architecture called MDA(Model Driven Architecture). MDA runs a process that establishes a platform independent model(PIM), which is an analysis model used as part of the existing development procedures, and automatically converts it into a platform specific model(PSM), a design model, based on the established PIM. Such automatic conversion has lots of benefits including easy support for diverse platforms, reducing the coding time that usually consume a great deal of the developer's effort, and facilitating quality control in the aspect of development processes. By applying the MDA development process to a new web service development, you can choose web service as the target platform at the PIM of MDA and express PSM with a web service model, WSDL. This study set out to classify the web service development or integration processes by the provider md requester to identify the types of web service development processes, and to apply the MDA development process to web service development, thus suggesting a new kind of web service development process that can be referred to by both the web service provider and requester.

클라우드 컴퓨팅 개인정보보호 연구동향과 과제

  • 최근 들어 클라우드 컴퓨터의 도입에 있어 보안 및 개인정보보호가 핵심적인 요구사항으로 주목받고 있으며, 국내외 여러 조직에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 개인정보보호의 중요성을 인식하여 전사적이고 체계적인 접근법에 기초한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 보안을 다룬 NIST SP 800-144 문서를 기반으로 정보보호관리체제 (ISMS)에 대한 국제표준인 ISO 27002의 통제내용음 분석하고 이를 KISA-PIMS의 통제내용과 연결하여 도출하였다. 더불어, IPC 및 WPF등 해외에서 연구한 클라우도 컴퓨팅 개인정보보호 위험 및 요구사항을 KISA-PIMS의 통제목적과 비교 분석하는 한편, 클라우드 컴퓨팅 개인정보보호의 향후 연구 과제를 제시하고자 한다.

  • We have developed the drawing and part information management system that could integrate drawing information with corresponding part information in design process. The modules developed include the drawing information management (DIM) and the part information management(PIM). DIM consist of processing drawing management, approved drawing management, disused drawing management, and drawing print management. PIM consist of new part management, option management, and part change management. Errors which may occur in the design process can be reduced by reference to part information directly. In addition, the number of parts can be reduced by minimizing the frequency of new parts generation through the systematic management.

  • 인터넷 멀티캐스트 라우팅을 위해 PIM, CBT, DVMR 등의 여러 가지 프로토콜이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 멀티캐스트 라우팅에서 QoS를 보장하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법은 멀티캐스팅 라우팅의 두가지 접근법 중 공유 트리 접근법에서 지연시간에 대한 QoS를 보장하는 방법으로 PIM-SM을 개선한 형태를 취한다. 동적인 멤버쉽에 의해 주어진 지연시간 상한값을 만족하지 않는 상황이 발생하면 공유 트리의 RP(Rendezvous Point)를 다시 선택하고 트리를 제구성함으로서 QoS를 보장하는 방법을 사용하며, 시뮬레이션을 통해 이 방법의 적절성을 확인하였다.
