The Effect of Magnetic Field Annealing on the Structual and Electromagnetic Properties of $Ni_{81}Fe_{19}$ thin Films for Magnetoresistaknce Heads (자기저항헤드용 $Ni_{81}Fe_{19}$ 박막의 구조 및 전자기적 특성에 미치는 자장중 열처리의 영향)

  • The effects of annealing in magnetic field after deposition on electromagnetic properties of $Ni_{81}Fe_{19}$ thin($400\;{\AA}$) films prepared by RF-magnetron sputtering were investigated in terms of microstructure and surface morphology. The coercivity of the films was decreased below $300^{\circ}C$ due to stress relief and recrystallization, while increased at $400^{\circ}C$ due to grain growth and increasing the surface roughness. And then, $4{\pi}M_{s}$, was almost independent of annealing temperatures. Increasing the annealing temperature. the electrical resistivity of films was decreased from $37\;{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ to $24\;{\mu}{\Omega}cm$, the magnetoresistance was nearly a constant of about $0.6\;{\mu}{\Omega}cm$, and the MR ratio was increased from 1.5 % to 3.1 %. Therefore, It was shown that increasing the magnetoresistive ratio was mainly affected by decreasing the electrical resistivity. Considering the practical application of the films for magnetoresistive heads, optimal annealing conditions was obtained after one hour annealing at $300^{\circ}C$ in 400 Oe unidirectional magnetic field.

The Magnetic Properties of $Co_{84}\;Hf_{16}$ Thin Films by FMR (강자성공명을 이용한 $Co_{84}\;Hf_{16}$ 박막의 자기적 성질 연구)

  • $Co_{84}Hf_{16}$ (1300$\AA$, 2150$\AA$) thin films were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering method. To investigate the uniaxial anisotrpy of the sample, the saturation and effective magnetization of the thin films were measured by VSM and FMR, respectively. The spectroscopic splitting g factor were estimated from the ferromagnetic resonance curves. For 1300$\AA$, 2150$\AA$, the effective magnetization was measured at the temperatures from T=77K to T=300K. The results were analyzed in terms of Bloch's law $M_s(T)=M_s(0)(1BT^{3/2}CT^{5/2}$. The Bloch coefficient B and C were determined by fitting. $M_{eff}(0)$ was obtained by extrapolating $M_{eff}$ to 0 K. From this result, the spinwave stiffness constants D was also determined and the exchange stiffness constants $A_{eff}$ were calculated by Kittel's resonance conditions.

  • 현재 투명 전도성 산화물로 널리 사용되고 있는 ITO등의 물질들이 갖는 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 ZnO 에 Ga이나 Al등의 불순물을 첨가하여 투명 전도성 재료로써 이에 대한 연구가 진행중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터법으로 Al이 첨가된 ZnO:Al Ceramic 타겟으로 Coring 1737 유리기판과 파손의 우려가 적고 유연성을 갖는 $25{\mu}m$ 두께의 polyimide(PI) 기판위에 박막을 증착하여 특성을 비교 조사하였다.

  • We studied on the ultra thin L- $\alpha$ -DLPC by LB method. The $\pi$ -A isotherm of the L- e -DLPC was measured at the air-water interface varying with the compressing speed and amounts of solutions for spreading. The molecular arrangement of deposited films were evaluated by measuring the absorption with the UV spectrometer. And we made structures of metal(Au)/L- $\alpha$ -DLPC/Metal(Au) and examined electron through L- $\alpha$ -DLPC LB films by means of current-voltage(I- V) measurement

Persistent Photoconductivity in Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon Thin Films (수소화된 비정질 탄소 박막에서의 지속광전기전도도)

  • Hydrogenated amorphous carbon(a-C:H) films were fabricated by the low-frequency (60Hz) glow discharge of the mixture of methane and hydrogen, and their electrical properties were investigated. We observed that a-C:H films show the persistent photoconductivity(PPC) by illumination of heat-filtered while light for a few seconds. The PPC was about 10 times larger than the annealed dark conductivity. The samples clearly showed metastable characteristics. With increasing illumination times from 1 to 100 min, the annealing activation energy of the PPC was about 0.39eV. The annealing temperature at which the PPC disappeared increasing from $100^{\circ}C$ to $130^{\circ}C$. Illumination longer than 80 min leads to the formation of ${\pi}$ defects and to the decrease of PPC. From these results, we tentatively propose that the states in the ${\pi}$ band act as deep trap centers generating the metastabilities.

  • A novel refractive index sensor, which consists of polymer channel waveguide overlaid with $TiO_2$ thin film, is demonstrated. To evaluate the fabricated sensor, we measured the polarimetric interference induced by concentration change of injected glycerol solution. Our experimental results show that thicker $TiO_2$ film improves the sensitivity of the polarimetric interferometer. For the fabricated waveguide with a 20 nm thick $TiO_2$ film, the measured index change to lead phase variation of $2{\pi}$ is $1.8{\times}10^{-3}$.

  • Polyimide (PI) containing carboxyl functional group was prepared and reacted with diaminosiloxane during high temperature film casting. The morphology of resulting film was observed by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), which revealed that globular 100 nm-sized PI domains and continuous polysiloxane phase were formed. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) study indicated that air-film interface mainly consisted of polysiloxane blocks. Poly(imidesiloxane) thin layer was thermostable until $400^{\circ}C$ and its pressure- sensitive adhesive property was retained up to $300^{\circ}C$. The comparative experiments revealed that grafting between carboxyl groups of polyimide and aminosiloxane was crucial for formation of microdomain structure and pressure-sensitive adhesive property.

Polycrystalline $Y_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12}$ Garnet Films Grown by a Pulsed Laser Ablation Technique (엑시머 레이저 증착기술에 의한 $Y_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12}$ 다결정 박막 제조)

  • $Y_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12}$ based garnet films(thin or thick) offer a great promise for the application of microwave communication components. We investigated the magnetic and crystallographic preperties of $Y_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12}$ thick films prepared by KrF eximer laser ablation of a stoichiometric garnet target. It was possible to obtain almost epitaxially oriented films on $Al_{2}O_{3}$(1102) plane. Although the crystalline quality depends on substrate temperature and $O_{2}$ partial pressure used($Po_{2}$), 4.1m thick films of $4{\pi}M_{s}=1300$ Gauss and $H_{c}=37.5$ Oe were obtained at the substrate temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ with the $Po_{2}$ of 100 mTorr after annealing the as-deposited films at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. These films are expected to be used for magnetostatic spin wave filters at narrow bandwidth frequency.

  • $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ thin layers are promising materials for optical devices in the UV regions. $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ thin layers w were grown on sapphire substrates by metalorgaruc chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The molar Al fraction and crystallinity of layers were deduced from synchrotron x-ray scattering experiment. Surface morphology were investigated using SEM and SPM. $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ layers crystallinity were related with undoped GaN crystallinity. The Al mole fraction of $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ layers affect the surface morphology of $Al_xGa_{1-x}N$ layers. The surface morphology was rough­e ened and the cracks were obse$\pi$ed by increasing the Al mole fractions.
