백두산 수목한게량 상부의 식생특성 (The Vegetation Characteristics of the Upper Area of Timber Line in Mt. Paektu)

  • The vegetation of alpine and subalpine zone from timber line, 2,000m altitude, to the upper area of Mt. Packtu were investigated by phytosociological method. The plant distribution along to the different altitudes shown as follows: Betula ermani community with Rhododendron redowskianum occupied dominantly at 2,000m area as patch forms, Rhododendron redowskianum community with Vaccinium uliginosum, at 2,180-2,200m area, both Vaccinium uliginosum and Rhododendron redowskianum community were compatible with each other at 2,243m area. Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,250, Salix rotundifolia community, Erigeron thunbergii var. glabrata community, Dryas octopetala var. asiatica community and Carex atrata community were occurred frequently at 2,263m around Chonji Lake. Rhododendron aureum, Thunbergii coccinea and V accinium uliginosum showed higher cover degree than other species at 2,370m area, Phyllodoce coerulea-Rhododendron aureum community at 2,400m, Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,470m, Rhododendron aureum community at 2,490m, Salix rotundifolia at 2,520m, Rhododendron redowskianum community at 2,580m, Dryas octopetala var. asiatica community, Salix rotundifolia, and bistorta achotensis etc. at 2,650 altitude area were settled as sparse, creeping shape on the surface soil and dwarf plants of about 15cm heights.

한국 서남해안 간석지 식생에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Vegetation of the Salt Marsh in the Southwestern Cost of Korea)

  • The coastal vegetation of the southwestern coast of Korea was surveyed by the Braun-Blnquet's phytosociological sKDICe and its soil properties were also determined. Comparing with the coastal vegetation of Korea, Japan and Europe, the vegetation of this area could be classified into as follows; A. Thero-Salicornietea R. Tx. 1954(Salicor-nietum herbaceae assoc. nov.). B. Thero-Suaedetea Rivas Martwez 1979 (Suaedetum japonicae Miyawaki et Ohba 1966, Suaeda maritima commuity, Atriplici-Suaedetum maritimi Miyawaki et Ohba 1965, Suaeda asparagoided community) C. Asteretea tripolium Westhoff et Beeftink 1962 (Zoysietum sinice Ohba, Miyawaki et Tx. 1973, Limonietum tetragoni Miyawaki et Ohba 1969, Artemisietum scopariae assoc. nov., Aster tripolium community, Atriplex, gmelini community) D. Phragmitetea Tx. et Prsg. 1942 (Triglochietum maritimae assoc. nov., Carcetum scabrifoliae Miyawaki et Ohba 1969, phragmites communis community, Pyaceluretum latifolii Miyawaki et Okuda 1972, Scirpus fluviatilis community) E. Salsoletea komarovil Ohba, Miyawaki et Tx. 1973(Salsola komarovi community) F. Glehnietea littoralis ohba, Miyawaki et Tx. 1973(Caricetum pumilae assoc. nov., Meserschmidia sibirica community, Lysimachia mauri-tiana community Ishaemum anthephoroides community, Elymus mollis commuity, carex kobomugi community, Ixeris repens community) G. Viticetea rotundifoliae Ohba, Miyawaki et Tx. 1973 (Imperato cylindricae-Viticetum rotundifoliae ohba, Miyawaki ex Tx. 1973) and Opuntia ficus-indica var. saboten community. Among the soil properties, water potential seems to be one fo the most important factor on the distribution of the coastal plant community and it might be highly affected by water content in sand and salinity in low marsh.

Physical Properties of Soils in Relation to Forest Composition in Moist Temperate Valley Slopes of the Central Western Himalaya

  • The present study was undertaken in moist temperate forest of Mandal-Chopta area in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. The aim of the present study was to assess the physical properties of soils in relation to the forest structure and composition. Twelve forest types according to the altitude, slope aspect and species compositions were selected for the study. Physical properties of soil i.e., soil colour, soil texture (per cent of sand, silt and clay), moisture content, water holding capacity, porosity, bulk density (gm/$cm^3$) and void ratio were analyzed for three different depths viz., (i) 'upper' (0-10 cm), (ii) 'middle' (11-30 cm) and (iii) 'lower' (31-60 cm) in all the selected forest types. Phytosociological and diversity parameters viz. total basal cover ($Gha^{-1}$), stem density ($Nha^{-1}$), tree species richness, Simpson concentration of dominance and Shannon-Wiener diversity index were also calculated for each forest type. This study also provides the comparisons between the results of physical analysis of the present study with numerous other previous studies in the temperate Himalayan region of the Uttarakhand.

Vegetation community composition and changes of Jinaksan (Mt.) in Korea

  • This study investigated 62 nested quadrat plots of Jinaksan to identify community classification and changes of the vegetation by using the phytosocial method and analyzed importance values. Vegetation types were classified into 8 communities: Quercus mongolica community, Q. variableis community, Q. aliena community, Pinus densiflora, Q. acutissima, Zelkova serrata, Carpinis laxiflora, and C. tschonoskii. The significance value was highest in Q. mongolica (62.75) followed by P. densiflora (55.16), Q. variabilis community (25.03), Z. serrata (22.17), Q. aliena (18.30), Prunus serrulata var. pubescens (16.86), C. laxiflora (13.25), Q. acutissima (10.72), C. tschonoskii (10.08), Q. serrata (8.02), Fraxinus sieboldiana (6.93), Acer pseudosieboldianum (6.73), and Styrax obassis (5.73). Quercus mongolica displayed a stable distribution pattern, presenting a reverse J-shaped curve from the diameter at breast height (DBH) analysis, and it was judged that current state would be maintained for a certain period. In addition, P. densiflora is expected to dominate for the time being and Quercus species are expected to gradually decrease.

우리나라 천문동 개체군의 생태 특성 (Ecological Characteristics of the Asparagus cochinchinensis (Lour.) Merr. Population in South Korea)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the distribution of native Asparagus cochinchinensis and ecological characteristic in South Korea. Natural vegetative areas were investigated at 5 areas; Taean, Buan, Geoje, Namhae and Jindo. In this study, the $5m{\times}5m$ quadrat was established for recording coverage and appearance species by phytosociological method. The flora of the studied area in native habitats were listed as 130 species. The native habitats was classified into Pinus thunbergii community and typical community. Two communities were located in a coastal cliff and have been destroyed. Therefore Asparagus cochinchinensis native habitats must be protected by regulation. In the studied sites, soil pH, organic matter, nitrogen, available phosphorus, exchangeable K, exchangeable Ca, exchangeable Mg and cation exchange capacity were ranged from $5.1{\sim}5.7%$, $1.77{\sim}3.59%$, $0.19{\sim}0.54%$, $5.4{\sim}18.7$ (mg/kg), $0.24{\sim}0.48$ (cmol+/kg) $0.76{\sim}2.83$ (cmol+/kg), $3.11{\sim}6.22$ (cmol+/kg) and $8.7{\sim}24.5$(cmol+/kg), respectively.

Distribution and current vegetation of Cakile edentula, an invasive alien species in Korea

  • Background: Cakile edentula (Bigelow) Hook. is a successful invader that has been propagating globally. In Korea, Cakile edentula was found in 2008 for the first time, in the east coast of Korean peninsula. Based on site surveys conducted thereafter, Cakile edentula has propagated in the east coast from Goseong to Jeongdongjin, Gangneung and in the west coast of city of Hwaseong of Gyeonggi-do Province, and Taeangun County of Chungcheongnam-do Province. Results: Cakile edentula has infiltrated into four different vegetation communities (syntaxa) (Calystegio soldanellaeSalsoletum komarovii Ohba, Miyawakiet Tx.1967; Elymo-caricetum Kobomugi Miyawaki 1967; Carex pumila; and Calystegia soldanella) belonging to phytosociological classes of saltwort (barilla) and coastal glehnia. Cakile edentula competes with dominant species such as the saltwort (barilla) and beach morning glory, causing qualitative changes in species composition. It also affects local ecosystems through its competition with indigenous species, causing destruction of the traditional landscape. Conclusions: However, competition of Cakile edentula with indigenous species and the resulting replacement of such species are limitedly reported. Potential competitors with Cakile edentula have not been found yet. In Northeast Asia, qualitative changes realized in local ecosystems due to invasion of Cakile edentula are significantly noticeable. These necessitate proper controls for this invasive alien species to protect and preserve coastal dune areas.

고로쇠나무(Acer mono)의 수액출수에 미치는 환경요인과 그 군락의 자원화에 관한 연구: 생육지 환경과 군락의 구조 (Studies on the Environmental Factors for Sap Extraction of Acer mono and the Resource Development of Its Community / Habitat Environment and Community Structure)

  • 본 연구는 고로쇠나무(Acer mono) 군락의 생육지환경과 군락의 구조에 대하여 조사하였다. 식생조사는 Braun-Blanquet의 조사방법에 따랐다. 1. 생육지 환경은 주로 동, 서사면의 경사도 10~20$^{\circ}$의 계곡의 분포하고 토층은 대부분 노암으로 덮여 있었다. 2. 분포지역을 0$^{\circ}C$이하 등온일수선으로 도시한 결과 수액 채취지역인 지리산과백운산은 등온일수선 120~130일 범위에 포함되었다. 3. 등온일수선을 기준으로한 수액채취 가능기간(일교차: -5$^{\circ}C$+8$^{\circ}C$)이 지리산 52일, 백운산 43일로서 다른 지역(계룡산, 설악산)에 비하여 장기간 수액이 출수될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다, 4, 고로쇠나무군락의 식별종은 말발도리, 박쥐나무로 너무밤나무군강에 속하고 노각나무아군락과 쪽동백나무아군락으로 구분되었으며 출현종수는 24종이었다.

안동 임하댐 일대의 삼림식생에 대한 군락생태학적 연구

  • 본 연구는 식물사회학적 방법에 의해 경상북도 안동군 임하댐 유역의 삼림식생을 분류하고 그 환경조건을 해석할 목적으로 실시되었다. 그 결과 다음의 4군락이 식별되었다: 소나무군락, 굴참나무-졸참나무군집, 아까시나무-닭의 장풀군락, 일본잎갈나무군락. 이중에서 소나무군락은 특히 인위적 영향이 미친 정도에 따라 다시 억새조성군, 산거울 조성군, 전형조성군 등 3하위단위로 세분되었다. 이들 삼림군락에 출현한 유관속식물은 총 63과 144속 191종 30변종으로 밝혀졌다. 이 연구에서 식별된 각 군락의 상관적, 종조성적 특징 및 고도, 경사, 지형, 토양과 같은 생육지의 환경조건이 기술되었다. 또, 상관적, 종조성적 특징과 함께 생활형의 분석 및 토양분석을 통하여 조사지에 있어서 일련의 천이경도를 명백히 하였다. 이와 관련한 삼림군락의 천이계열은 아까시나무-?의 장풀군락.일본잎갈나무군락\longrightarrow소나무군락\longrightarrow굴참나무-졸참나무군집\longrightarrow신갈나무군락의 순으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 본 연구를 통해 귀납되는 사항으로서 댐의 건설을 전후한 자연생태계의 보전 방향이 제시되었다.

해당화군목의 군락분류학적 재고 (Syntaxonomical Reconsideration of the Rosetalia rugosae)

  • 동북아시아 냉온대림역의 해안사구에 발달하고 있는 해안사구임연식생인 해당화군목의 군락체계에 대한 식생학적 연구가 수행되었다. 현재 해당화군목은 동북아시아 임연식생의 최상위 계급인 찔레꽃군강에 귀속되어 있으나, 군락체계적으로 애매한 문제점을 내포하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 찔레꽃군강과 해당화 군목의 식물사회학적 군락체계 및 한국과 일본의 해안사구에서 조사된 해당화군목 197개의 균질한 releve를 이용하여 수행되었다. 해당화군목의 군락체계 분석에는 상재도, 빈도 및 순기여도가 이용되었다. 해당화군목은 그 상급단위로 결정되어 있는 찔레꽃군강과는 명확히 구분되어 해당화군목의 찔레꽃군강으로의 예속은 부적절하였다 따라서, 해당화군목의 식생학적 군락체계는 재고되어야할 것으로 생각되며, 그것은 난온대형 해안사구관목식생을 특징짓는 순비기나무군강에 대응되는 군락유형으로 판단된다.

한국 충북 중.북부지역 산지대 하부의 참나무류 삼림에 대한 식물사회학적 연구 (A Phytosociological Study of the Quercus spp. Forests in the Lower Montane Zone of Middle and Northern Parts, Chungbuk Province, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 Z.-M.학파의 식물사회학적 연구방법에 의해 충북 지역의 박달산, 계명산, 보련산, 월악산, 천등산, 조령산, 국망산, 부용산, 시루봉 일대의 산지대 하부 참나무류 삼림을 분류하고 그 환경조건을 해석할 목적으로 실시하였다. 이 일대의 참나무류 삼림식생은 A. 굴참나무군락(Quercus variabilis community) A-1. 졸참나무-상수리나무하위단위(Quercus serrata-Quercus acutissima group), A-2. 신갈나무하위단위(Quercus mongolica group), B. 신갈나무-철쭉군락(Quercus mongolica-Rhododendron schlippenbachii community), C. 떡갈나무-홀아비꽃대군락(Quercus dentata-Chloranthus japonicus community)으로 구분되었다. 이들 식생단위는 인위 및 해발과 각은 환경복합의 경도에 의해 배비되었으며, 종의 우점도에 근거한 집괴분석(군평균법)의 결과와도 비교적 잘 일치하였다.
