In these days, the use of context in application running on mobile devices such as PDAs and smart Phone has become a crucial requirement for several research areas, including ubiquitous computing. mobile computing. Previous middlewares which support context provisioning uses single strategy. But, this paper proposed middleware integrated multiple strategies for context provisioning, namely internal sensors-based, external infrastructure-based, and distributed provisioning in ad hoc networks. Applications can query needed context items using SQL like context query language and require context information to use different provisioning mechanisms depending on resource availability and presence of external infrastructures.

In this paper we present a light weighted robust Korean morphological analyzer for mobile devices such as mobile phones, smart phones, and PDA phones. Such mobile devices are not suitable for natural language interfaces for their low CPU performance and memory restriction. In order to overcome the difficulties we propose 1) an online analysis by using Key Event Handler mechanism, 2) and a robust analysis of the Korean sentences with spacing errors without its correction pre-processing. We adapt the proposed Korean analyzer to a Korean-English mobile translator, which shows 5.8% memory usage reduction and 19.0% enhancement of average response time.

With the advances of wireless technologies and mobile computing, m-commerce is being realized for several mobile devices such as PDAs and mobile phones. Currently, service contents in m-commerce are usually newly written to meet specific characteristics of the target mobile devices, thus requiring formidable efforts. Therefore, we should exploit the Internet product information currently being provided for e-commerce. However, bringing the Internet product to mobile devices is far from straightforward due to the many limitations of mobile devices such as little memory, small displays, low processing speeds, and so forth. In this paper, we first suggest a new model to effectively adapt the Internet product information for mobile phones. We then suggest a mobile system to implement the model. We then design and implement the system. Finally, we give experiments on the system.

W3C(World Wide Web Consortium)는 2007년 상반기부터 웹 기술을 PC를 넘어 휴대폰, PDA, 정보가전, 로봇 등 모든 디바이스로 적용이 확대하기 위해 유비쿼터스 웹 응용을 위한 표준 개발을 시작하였다. 이를 담당하고 있는 유비쿼터스 웹 응용 워킹그룹은 탁상용 컴퓨터뿐 아니라 사무용품, 가정 매체 기구, 이동 전화, RFID나 바코드를 포함하는 센서나 이펙터(effector) 등의 유비쿼터스 기기들이 다양하게 흩어져 있는 환경에서 쉽게 웹 응용 개발을 가능하게 하는 표준 개발을 목표로 한다. 본 워킹그룹의 활동의 중요한 표준화 아이템 중의 하나는 Delivery Context: Client Interfaces(DCCI)로 이는 다양한 디바이스들의 기능들의 접근을 위한 표준 인터페이스를 정의하는 것이다. DCCI가 중요한 이유는 현재 웹 환경에서 오픈 API를 이용하여 개발되고 있는 다양한 매쉬업 응용에 GPS와 같은 단말을 기능을 매쉬업을 제공할 수 있는 기반이 되기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 최근에 W3C의 UWA(Ubiquitous Web Application) WG에서 추진되고 있는 DCCI에 대한 표준화 동향을 설명한다.

근거리 통신망 LAN(Local Area Network)는 일반적으로 회사, 학교, PC방에서 널리 사용하는 통신 방식으로 Serial, USB 통신방식과 더불어 반드시 습득해야 할 프로토콜 중의 하나로서 앞으로는 이러한 LAN 통신방식을 이용하여 모든 가전기기, 회사 내의 보안장치 등이 모두 유무선 복합적으로 연결되어 휴대폰 또는 PDA로 상태변화를 실시간으로 확인이 가능한 시대가 올 것이다. 본 논문에서는 LAN LSI인 W3100A를 분석해 보고, MCU(Atmega128)과 Phycei ver인 RTL8201과 Interface하여 회로를 구성한 다음, TCP Client 역할을 위한 MCU Programming을 하여 .NET으로 Server 프로그램을 만들어 Server에 데이터를 전송한다. 이와 같이 MCU(Atmega128)을 사용하여 들어온 데이터를 Ethernet Network상으로 데이터의 전송을 가능하게 하는 Ethernet 통신 시스템을 연구하였다.

최근 무선통신망의 발전에 따라 무선 인터넷 시장이 빠르게 성장하면서 이동성을 기반으로 하는 서비스에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그리고 휴대폰과 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants), MET(Mobile Data Terminal)와 같은 휴대용 단말기의 사용이 일반화된 가운데 GPS(Global Positioning System)를 기반으로 하는 서비스들도 점차적으로 보편화되어 가고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 이동성을 지원하는 무선 단말기를 기반으로 한 Mobile GIS 환경에서의 위치 정보 활용은 큰 관심을 불러일으키고 있으며, 또한 이러한 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하기 위해서 위치 기반 서비스(LBS: Location Based Service)의 기술개발이 필요하게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 전력설비 고장복구업무에 LBS를 적용하기 위해 차량에 장착하는 MDT에서 모바일 지도 서비스가 가능한 Compact형 GIS 엔진을 설계하고 구현한 결과를 제시한다.

현재 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구는 다양한 분야에서 활발히 진행되고 있는데, 특히, 병원, 기업 등 local area 중심으로 유비쿼터스 환경 구축에 대한 실험이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 대형매장의 쇼핑 방식의 문제점을 살펴보고 이러한 문제점을 해결하여 고객에게 편리하고 효율적인 쇼핑 환경을 제공하기 위한 유비쿼터스 매장(USC Ubiquitous Shopping Center) 모델을 제시한다. USC는 FRID 기술을 이용해 입장한 고객의 유형을 분석할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 원하는 쇼핑 정보(또는 서비스)를 제공할 수 있다. 또한, 고객의 휴대 장치(휴대 전화, 스마트폰, PDA 등)에 소형 RFID reader를 설치하여 쇼핑 카트 없이 고객이 원하는 물품을 구매할 수 있도록 도와준다. USC 모델이 미래의 대형매장 모델에 적용되면 고객들은 물론 매장의 운영 효율 측면에 있어서도 유익할 것으로 기대된다.

기존의 침입 탐지 시스템들은 모두 관리자가 지속적으로 직접 컴퓨터 앞에 앉아 모든 감사 결과들은 보고 처리해야 되는 불편한 점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 불편한 점에서 약간이나마 탈피하고자 관리자가 부재시에도 귀급한 칩입 행위를 발견시에 관리자의 PDA나 휴대폰으로 경고 메시지를 보냄으로서 관리자가 즉각적으로 대처할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 함을 목적으로 제안한다. 그러나 모든 침입에 대한 감사기록을 관리자에게 경고 메시지로 송신하는 것은 오히려 cost가 비싸지는 점이 발생하므로 본 논문에서는 각 해킹 기법들을 차별화 하여 즉가적인 대처가 필요한 침입 사항만을 선별하여 호출하는 시스템을 제안하고 구현한다.

무선 인터넷의 발전으로 PDA, 휴대폰, 노트북 등 여러 모바일 환경에서의 인터넷 사용이 유선 인터넷 환경만큼이나 편리하게 되었다. 이에 따라 인터넷 컨텐츠 제공자들은 기존 유선 인터넷 컨텐츠를 사용하여 무선인터넷 컨텐츠로 제공하고자 한다. 그러나 모바일 장치의 디스플레이 제한, 모바일과 PC의 환경적 차이등으로 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠를 그대로 사용하기는 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 위의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 새로운 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 HTML형태의 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠들을 XML문서로 변환하여 컴포넌트화하고 이를 이용하여 무선인터넷에서 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠들을 사용할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 이 시스템으로부터 생성된 XML문서를 가지고 모바일 환경에서의 제한된 입출력과 취약한 보안성을 고려하여 인터넷 서비스 사용시 발생되는 사용자정보의 반복적 입력을 자동화하는 사용자정보 자동 적용 시스템을 제안한다. 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠를 모바일 환경 내에서 사용하기 위한 작업을 자동화함으로써 새로운 유무선 통합 인터넷 서비스를 만들 수 있다.

Visitors who browse the web from wireless PDAs, cell phones are frequently frustrated by interfaces. Simply replacing graphics with text and reformatting tables does not solve this problem, because deep link structures can still require more time. To solve this problem, in the paper we propose an algorithm, Minimal Path Algorithm that automatically improves wireless web navigation by suggesting useful shortcut links in real time. In the result of this paper, Minimal Path algorithm offer the shortcut and the number of shortest links to web users.
