  • Fuel cell system which can solve the environmental problem is receiving attention. To use utility power necessary power conversion system from low voltage that is generated by fuel cell system. because fuel cell has special characteristic of low voltage high current. To improve PCS's efficiency the paralleling method is used. Available the method could reduce the switching loss. But the existing research could not be found optimal result and accompanying several effects. In this study analysis several effects causing the parallel method. The effects have been demonstrated through simulations and experiments.

  • This paper presents the development and performance of a power conditioning system (PCS) for application to a 100kw Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell. (MCFC) generation system. The MCFC generation system is a part of a four year government funded research project that began in 2001. This paper presents the results of operation connected to an actual fuel cell stack at a field demonstration site. and this paper shows various tests and performance verification of the 100kW PCS using a simulated DC source.

  • 본 논문에서는 연료전지 시스템에서 발생되는 저주파 리플의 전달과정을 분석하고, PCS 회로 및 인버터 제어방식에 따른 저주파 리플 영향을 비교 분석한다. 부스트 컨버터와 풀브리지 컨버터의 입력전류 고조파 분포와 인버터 PWM 스위칭 방식에 따른 입력전류에서의 영향을 고조파 분포 및 저주파 리플 측면에서 분석한다. 풀브리지 컨버터에서 전달되는 저주파 리플 크기가 상대적으로 작은 것을 확인하고, PWM 스위칭 방식은 저주파 리플에 영향을 주지 않는다는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인한다.

  • Recently, new technologies of the PCS (Power Conditioning System) for energy generating using solar cells or fuel cell are required for smaller unit with low cost and high performance. In this paper, the proposed high frequency AC linked DC/AC converter which consisted of LLC resonant and LF cycloconverter is presented, described and verified through the experimental results of 1kW PCS.

  • In this paper, optimal design of interleaved boost converters is studied in order to design low ripple, size, loss and high performance converters for fuel cell applications. Also, the process of optimal design of interleaved boost converter has been performed. Input current ripple, output voltage ripple, losses and capacity of electrical components are theoretically analyzed and informative simulation and experimental results are provided.

  • In this paper, the variation of phase current and input current ripple of interleaved boost converter at DCM for fuel cell applications are theoretically analyzed. Also, based on the detailed analysis, numerical formula of input current ripple expressed in rising and falling slope magnitude, D, and $D_A$ is proposed. In order to verify proposed formulas, simulation and experimental results are compared with theoretical data and validity of proposed theory is established.

  • This paper presents a novel single converter and single inverter (1Con-1Inv) topology for photovoltaic (PV)-fuel cell (FC) hybrid system and a new control scheme for the PV-FC hybrid system is then proposed. The new topology and the unique algorithm can minimize volume and production cost of the hybrid system. Moreover, system efficiency can improve due to reduction of losses of hardware components and other control factors are well regulated using just 1Con-1Inv with the help of the proposed control algorithm. The validity of proposed algorithm is verified both computer simulation using PSIM and Matlab/Simulink program and experimental with 700W of PV and 600W of FC system.

  • The phase angle of the utility voltage is used in current control of grid-tied fuel cell power converter. Therefore if the detection of phase angle is a problem, Current control is affected by the distorted phase angle. This paper presents a problem of synchronous reference frame PLL algorithm for single-phase systems and proposes compensated synchronous reference frame PLL algorithm. The proposed method helps power quality improvement of grid-tied fuel cell power converter under distorted utility conditions. Simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, parallel input/serial output dual converter is designed appropriately for fuel cell hybrid power system. In case of proposed converter, zero voltage switching condition is designed without additional resonance device using leakage inductance of transformer and output capacitance of switch, and zero voltage switching method is used. Also, the system method is for increasing power by connecting half-bridge in parallel and increasing output voltage by connecting secondary output of transformer in serial. Through this method we can increase power and decrease volume of system. So in this paper, dual converter is designed. 1.5kW fuel cell hybrid power system was implemented, and system operation and stability was verified through experiment.
