  • 과거 PCB 제조의 주된 화제는 다양한 산업분야의 발전을 위해 한정된 시간 안에 좀 더 많은 PCB를 양산하는 기술 개발에 집중되어 있었지만, 현재는 비정상적인 공정 상태를 파악함으로써 제조 공정 환경에서의 오류를 줄여 전체 수율을 높이는 방법에 시선을 돌리고 있다. PCB 에칭의 경우 에칭 용액의 상태를 실시간으로 모니터링 하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존 애칭용액의 상태를 판단할 때 사용되는 ORP센서 대신, RGB센서를 이용하여 실시간으로 용액의 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템을 이용하여, 기존 ORP시스템과의 비교 분석을 및 RGB 센서를 이용한 모니터링 방법이 ORP센서를 이용한 방법 보다 좀 더 쉽고 정확하게 에칭 액의 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents the development of the Inspection machine for SMD mounted on cream solder of PCB. There are mounting errors of SMD such as misalignment, missing part, wrong orientation, wrong polarity and so on. The main hardware of the system consists of a machine vision part and a motion control part. Operating software has been developed in GUI environment to help user convenience. The Inspection Jobs consist of two procedures, that is, creation of the inspection reference data and automatic inspection. The Inspection reference data has a tree structure of linked list including PCB information, blocks, components, windows, and inspection methods. This paper presents versatile inspection methods which include a section length method, a projection method and histogram method. Therefore, user can choose the suitable procedure for various components. Finally, the automatic Inspection procedure using the reference data checks the mounting errors of components.

Coreless Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Transformers - Fundamental Characteristics and Application Potential

  • In this article, the fundamental concept, characteristics and application potentials of coreless printed-circuit-board (PCB) transformers are described. Coreless PCB transformers do not have the limitations associated with magnetic cores, such as the frequency limitation, magnetic saturation and core losses. In addition, they eliminate the manual winding process and its associated problems, including labor cost, reliability problems and difficulties in ensuring transformer quality in the manufacturing process. The parameters of the printed windings can be precisely controlled in modern PCB technology. Because of the drastic reduction in the vertical dimension, coreless PCB transformers can achieve high power density and are suitable for applications in which stringent height requirements for the circuits have to be met. A transformer's power density of $24W/cm^2$ has been reported in a power conversion application. When used in an isolation amplifier application, coreless PCB transformers tested so far enable the amplifier to achieve a remarkable linear frequency range of 1MHz, which is almost eight times higher than the frequency range of 120kHz in existing Integrated-Circuit products. PCB materials offer extremely high isolation voltage, typically from 15kV to 40kV, which is higher than many other isolation means such as optocouplers. It is envisaged that coreless PCB transformers can replace traditional core-based transformers in some industrial applications. Their application potentials deserve more attention and exploration.

  • 'Coil' occupies very much important position in delivering driving force of optical pick-up actuators. Up to now the main stream has been a winding coil type actuator, but actuators using FP-Coil(fine pattern coil) have been considered for the more compacted and simple manufacturing process and have variously spreaded the application fields by product. We have tried to design actuators using PCB-Coil(printed circuit board coil) which has benefits in terms of price and manufacturing process. Especially this research has two main things to reduce the vibration of sub-resonance and to assure the DC sensitivity among the performances of asymmetric optical pick-up actuator with PCB-Coil.

다층 PCB의 두께 예측을 위한 실험식 도출 연구 (An Empirical Formulation for Predicting the Thickness of Multilayer PCB)

  • 본 논문은 다층 PCB에 사용되는 프리프레그의 물성을 파악하여 제시한 두께 실험식을 통해 PCB의 두께를 예측하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 프리프레그는 물성과 동박 잔존율에 의해서 PCB 제작시 두께가 감소하기 때문에 두께 실험식을 통한 정확한 PCB의 두께 예측이 필요하다. 두께 실험식에 사용되는 프리프레그의 밀도를 파악하기 위해 질량 및 두께를 측정하여 밀도를 도출하였다. 이후 CCL을 제작하기 위해 프리프레그와 동박을 적층하여 핫 프레스기를 사용하였고 광학현미경과 마이크로미터를 사용하여 두께를 측정하였다. 또한 동박 잔존율에 따른 두께 변화를 측정하기 위해 회로밀도를 다르게 구성하여 8층 PCB를 설계하였고 두께 측정 결과와 두께 실험식으로 도출된 두께를 비교하여 두께 실험식을 검증하였다. 비교 결과 CCL의 경우 2.56%, 다층 PCB의 경우 4.48%의 오차를 보였고 이를 통해 두께실험식의 신뢰성을 확인하였다.

딥스틱게이지형 소형 엔진열화감지센서 개발 (Development of a Dipstick Gage Type Small Engine oil Deterioration Detection Sensor)

  • A small engine-oil-deterioration detection sensor was developed and installed at the tip of a dipstick gage. The sensor part was manufactured using printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing technology. A set of sensor covers was installed in order to protect the sensor and realize good signal stability. The small engine-oil-deterioration detection sensor system comprised a dual sensor having etched copper electrodes coated with gold and ceramic, a flexible PCB (FPCB) acting as electric wire, and a dummy PCB with only a lock connector. The sensor can easily be installed by insertion through the guide tube of a dipstick gage. Thus, a driver can easily handle it without further installation equipment. The sensor can determine the level of deterioration in the engine oil by estimating the corresponding dielectric constant of the engine oil.

  • For an engineering analysis to predict a bending of PCB by heat, geometry information from CAM data should be transferred to CAE system. But because this work is done by people, not computer, in PCB manufacturing company, it takes too much time, makes many errors and a result is unreliable. To solve these problems, we analyze a working process of company, then develop a CAM to CAE interface to translate a CAM data into a data to be input into a CAE system automatically.
