The regulatory role of A$\_$2A/ adenosine receptors on the P purinoceptor-mediated calcium signaling was investigated in rat pheochromocytoma (PC 12) cells. When PC 12 cells were treated with 2-p-(2-carboxyethyl) phenethylamino- 5' - N -ethylcarboxamido-adenosine (CGS21680), a specific agonist of the A$\_$2A/ adenosine receptor, extracellular ATP-evoked [Ca$\^$2+/]$\_$I/ rise was inhibited by -20%. The effect of chlorpromazine on the store-operated Ca$\^$2＋/ entry subsequently activated via the phospholipase C signaling pathway was investigated in PC12 cells. Chlorpromazine caused a rapid decline of the bradykinin-induced Ca$\^$2＋/ increase to basal level without attenuating the peak level.(omitted)

Extracellular A TP is known to function as a neurotransmitter and as a modulator in the variety of cell types. In PC12 cells, extracellular A TP elevates [Ca$\^$2＋/]j through receptor-operated Ca$\^$2＋/ channels and through the activation of phospholipase C, thereby facilitating the secretion of neurotransmitters.(omitted)

A substantial body of evidence indicates that reactive oxygen intermediates (ROIs) are implicated in pathogenesis of diverse human diseases, including cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders. Oxidative stress induced by ROIs often causes cell death via apoptosis that is regulated by a plenty of functional genes and their protein products. In the present work, we have investigated the role of bcl-2 in protecting against oxidative death induced by hydrogen peroxide in cultured rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells. (omitted)

Minocycline is known to protect neurons from microglia-mediated cell death in many experimental models of brain diseases including ischemic stroke, Huntington's disease (HD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. Activation of caspase-2, 3, 8, and 9 was evident within 2-8 hr following oxidative insult with 0.5 mM hydrogen peroxide in PC12 cells. Minocycline significantly attenuated activation of these caspases up to 18 hr, resulting a significant increase in cell viability as assessed by MTT assay. (omitted)

건설산업에서 근로시간 및 인력 수급의 변화로 탈 현장 공장기반 건설(OSC : Off Site Construction)형태의 생산방식이 주목받고 있다. 과거 1991년에 PC(Precast Concrete) 공동주택의 보급 및 확대 정책이 있었지만, PC 공동 주택은 품질문제 등으로 중단된 후 현재까지 활성화되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 공동주택 부문에 OSC 기반 PC 적용을 활성화하기 위한 정책과제를 분석하고 전문가 심층 면접조사(FGI : Focused Group Interview)를 실시하여 정책 방향을 도출하고자 하였다. 과거 정책 벤치마킹을 통해 공공부문 우선 적용을 통한 PC 공동주택 물량제공, 공공택지 우선공급, 용적률 우대, 자금지원, 세제지원, 업역 구조개선, 발주방식 개선, 공장인증시스템, 전문인력 양성 등 9개 정책과제를 도출하고 FGI를 실시한 결과로 얻은 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, PC 공동주택 활성화를 위해서는 공공부분의 선도적인 노력이 필요하다. 둘째, 업역의 개편이나 새로운 발주방식의 도입보다는 협업 강화를 유도하는 정책방향이 바람직하다. 셋째, 적정공사비와 품질확보를 위한 제도적 토대 위에서 PC 활성화가 추진되어야 한다.

This study aimed to summarize published epidemiological evidence for the relationship between pancreatitis and subsequent risk of pancreatic cancer (PC). We searched Medline and Embase for epidemiological studies published by February $5^{th}$, 2014 examining the risk of PC in pancreatitis patients using highly inclusive algorithms. Information about first author, year of publication, country of study, recruitment period, type of pancreatitis, study design, sample size, source of controls and attained age of subjects were extracted by two researchers and Stata 11.0 was used to perform the statistical analyses and examine publication bias. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated with the random effects model. A total of 17 articles documenting 3 cohort and 14 case-control studies containing 14,667 PC cases and 17,587 pancreatitis cases were included in this study. The pooled OR between pancreatitis and PC risk was 7.05 (95%CI: 6.42-7.75). Howeever, the pooled ORs of case-control and cohort studies were 4.62 (95%CI: 4.08-5.22) and 16.3 (95%CI: 14.3-18.6) respectively. The risk of PC was the highest in patients with chronic pancreatitis (pooled OR=10.35; 95%CI: 9.13-11.75), followed by unspecified type of pancreatitis (pooled OR=6.41; 95%CI: 4.93-8.34), both acute and chronic pancreatitis (pooled OR=6.13; 95%CI: 5.00-7.52), and acute pancreatitis (pooled OR=2.12; 95%CI: 1.59-2.83). The pooled OR of PC in pancreatitis cases diagnosed within 1 year was the highest (pooled OR=23.3; 95%CI: 14.0-38.9); and the risk in subjects diagnosed with pancreatitis for no less than 2, 5 and 10 years were 3.03 (95%CI: 2.41-3.81), 2.82 (95%CI: 2.12-3.76) and 2.25 (95%CI: 1.59-3.19) respectively. Pancreatitis, especially chronic pancreatitis, was associated with a significantly increased risk of PC; and the risk decreased with increasing duration since diagnosis of pancreatitis.

음악을 더 재미있게! 더 편리하게! 종이악보에도 디지털 바람이 불었다. 그리고 그 바람의 선두에는 뮤즈북 스코어(www.musebook.co.kr)가 있다. 뮤즈북 스코어는 최근 개발 된 태블릿 PC를 이용해 수만 장의 악보를 저장해 연주할 수 있는 프로그램으로 음악인식기술을 이용한‘음악인식 전자악보’이다. 피아노 악보대에 종이악보 대신 태블릿 PC를 올려놓고 하드디스크에 저장된 MusicXLM 전자악보들을 마음대로 불러서 사용하는 뮤즈북 스코어는 피아노를 연주 하면 태블릿 PC의 마이크로 소리를 듣고 분석해 자동으로 페이지를 넘겨준다. 사용자의 연주속도 가 빨라지거나 느려지더라도 현재 연주위치를 계 속 추적하기 때문에 사용자는 연주에만 집중할 수 있다.
