Characterization of panicle architecture and vascular bundle number at panicle neck on Oryza glaberrima introgression lines

  • Oryza sativa and Oryza glaberrima are rice cultivars distributed in Asia and Africa. There are several differences between these cultivars in morphological characteristics such as panicle structure and especially the secondary branch number of O. glaberrima is less than that of O. sativa. Generally, branch number of panicle related to a large vascular bundle number (VBN) among O. sativa and there is a wide variation of the VBN of the peduncle from where the bundles enter into the rachis branches. However, there is less information about VBN in O. glaberrima and also the relationship between VBN and branch numbers, the primary branch number (PBN) and secondary branch number (SBN). Additionally, the genetic factor for VBN and branch number in O. glaberrima is not completely exploited. In this study, phenotypic variation for VBN and panicle structure were investigated using a set of 40 $BC_3$ -derived from IRGC 104038 (O. glaberrima from Senegal) and 35 $BC_4$ -derived from IRGC103777 (O. glaberrima from Mali) introgression lines with a genetic background of japonica rice Taichung 65. Taichung 65 had 11.8 PBN, 16.0 SBN and 11.5 VBN, while IRGC 103777 had 12.0 PBN, 15.0 SBN and 15.3 VBN. The introgression lines derived from IRGC 104038 had range from 9.0 to 14.4 in the PBN, range from 9.6 to 33.5 in the SBN and range from 9.8 to 14.8 in the VBN. Additionally, the introgression lines derived from IRGC 103777 had range from 9.0 to 18.5 in the PBN, range from 10.3 to 39.0 in the SBN and range from 9.0 to 15.3 in the VBN. Among two set of introgression lines, there are significant correlation between VBN and PBN. Multiple introgression lines indicated higher PBN, SBN and VBN than Taichung 65 and these examined characteristics are supposedly controlled by quantitative traits loci. The genetic factor related to VBN and panicle architecture can be revealed using segregating population in future study.

  • We introduce the coordination among the intrusion detection agents by BBA(BlackBoard Architecture) that belongs to the field of distributed artificial intelligence. The system which uses BBA for the coordination can be easily expanded by adding new agents and increasing the number of BB(BlackBoard) levels. Several simulation tests performed on the targer network will illustrate our techniques. And this paper applies PBN(Policy-Based Network) to reduce the false positives that is one of the main problems of IDS. The performance obtained from the coordination of intrusion detection agent with PBN is compared against the corresponding non PBN type intrusion detection agent. The application of the research results lies in the experimentation of the various security policies according to the network types in selecting the best security policy that is most suitable for a given network.

  • With the continuous increase in demand for air transport services and the growth of the air transport industry, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and its member states are facing social demands to expand the capacity of the air transport system and improve the efficiency of its operation. ICAO developed the concept of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) for the purpose of solving problems related to the function and performance of the navigation system. Member countries established an implementation plan in accordance with the resolutionof the ICAO General Assembly, and South Korea established a Performance-Based Navigation implementation plan in December 2009. This paper evaluates the progress made so far based on Korea's Performance-Based Navigation implementation plan and proposes a development direction for Performance-Based Navigation based on changes in the international environment.

  • Air Traffic Management aims to fulfill the requirement of the aviation demander by constructing the most effective and safety aviation systems for providing safety and cost-effective service. All concerned parties of aviation present the needs of improving Air Traffic Management system for solving the issue of the current system and the air traffic capacity in the 21st century, and introduce the significant improvements from the conventional technology and method for the past 40 years. Accordingly, ICAO promotes the development of innovative procedures and technologies to solve the problems and meet the demands. It is the concept of Performance based Navigation(PBN) based on Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management(CNS/ATM). This study defines differences between RNAV and RNP RNAV as methods of air navigation based on the CNS/ATM, and needs and requirements of PBN as an emerging global standard. It also outlines basic elements supporting and implementing the PBN concept.

Performance Analysis of On Board Processing in Communication Satellite Against Jamming Environment (재밍환경하에서 위성통신 능동처리기법 성능분석)

  • 본 논문은 군 위성통신에서 능동신호처리(OBP) 방식을 고려서 위협요소인 전대역잡음(FBN) 재밍 및 부분대역잡음(PBN) 재밍 환경하에서 BPT, DOT, DRT, SRT방식 중계기구조에 따른 통신 성능의 열화 정도를 비교분석하였다. FBN환경에서는 OBP의 모든 방식이 통신 가능하였고, PBN환경에서는 모든 OBP 방식의 통신이 불가능하였으나, 다이버시티의 증가에 따라 성능이 향상되어 통신이 가능함을 확인하였다. 그러나, BPT와 DOT방식은 PBN환경에서 다이버시티를 증가하여도 성능이 개선되지 않았다. 성능분석 결과 SRT의 성능이 가장 우수하였으며, 비용대 효과 측면을 고려할 경우 SRT의 위협에 대한 항재밍성능과 유사한 성능을 하고 비용이 효율적인 DRT 방식의 적용가능성을 확인하였다.

  • 최근 들어 poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT)를 다른 고분자와 블렌딩시켜 특성 변화를 검토한 논문이 많이 발표되고 있는데 PTT와 블렌딩하는 고분자는 주로 PET와 같은 Poly(alkylene terephthalate)계 고분자들이다[1,2]. 나프탈렌환을 갖는 Poly(alkylene naphthalate)계 고분자를 PTT와 블렌딩한 연구는 PTT/poly(ethylene naphthalate)(PEN) 블렌드계[3] 정도가 보고되고 있으며, PTT를 다른 나프탈렌계 고분자와 블렌딩한 연구 결과는 거의 없는 실정이다.   • 최근 들어 poly(trimethylene terephtha)ate)(PTT)를 폴리에스터계 고분자들인 PET, PTN, PBN 등과 블렌드하고 이들의 특성 변화에 대해 검토한 결과가 많이 발표되고 있다. PTT를 PET나 PTN과 블렌드시키면 혼화성이 없으나, 이들 블렌드물을 용융시키면 점차 하나의 T$_{g}$를 나타내어 혼화성을 갖는다[1-3]. 반면에 PTT와 PBN을 블렌드시키면 처음부터 혼화성이 존재한다[4]. 이같이 PTT와 혼합되는 고분자의 종류에 따라 혼화성이 달라지는데, 본 연구는 PTT와 poly(ethylene naphthalate)(PEN)을 블렌드시키면 혼화성이 어떻게 되는가를 검토한 것이다.   • International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has recommended the adoption of performance-based navigation (PBN), which utilizes global navigation satellite system (GNSS). As a part of efforts to adopt PBN in South Korea, preparations have been made to implement GNSS. In Oct. 2014, Korea augmentation satellite system (KASS) was officially launched for development. A set of navigation devices need to be on-board for an airplane to utilize GNSS. GNSS navigation devices are used for different phases of flights through en-route, terminal, departure, approach and a wide variety of specification standards have been proposed for GNSS navigation. In this paper, we investigate the many proposed standards for GNSS navigation devices and their interfaces. This paper can be useful for designing procedures and flight test used in KASS implementation.
