Preparation of Saccharified kochujang with Retrograded Rice Cakes (노화된 떡을 이용한 당화고추장의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • Kochujang was prepared by using retrograded rice cakes (Song Pyun, Sym rice cake, Ssuk rice cake, Pat rice cake) as a source starch and the physiochemical and sensory characteristics were compared with traditional kochujang during aging for 60 days. Moisture content of all kochujang groups increased slowly but crude fat content decreased according to aging process. Changes of pH values of all kochujang reduced gradually during aging and the pH of saccharified kochujang was lowered than that of traditional one. Total reducing sugar contents in saccharified kochujang reached the maximum value at 50th day, and decreased thereafter. In contrast, the reducing sugar content in traditional kochujang was the highest at 30-day-aging. After 60 days of aging, the total contents of organic acids were 28.57 mg for P$\_$1/, 27.9 mg for P$\_$4/, 27.05 mg for P$\_$3/ 24.60 mg for P$\_$2/, and 22.30 mg for P$\_$0/. By sensory evaluation, saccharified kochujang prepared with Siru rice cake showed the highest sensory score in its appearance, flavor, texture, color, and taste.

  • The Load Rejection to House Load test at 100% power was successfully performed during the YGN 4 PAT period. In this test, all plant control systems automatically controlled the plant from 100% power to house load operation mode. The LTC code, which was used in the performance analysis during the design process of YGN 3&4, predictions of the test agreed with the measured data demonstrating the validity of the code as well as the completeness of the plant design.

  • 디지털 방송을 위한 Java 언어 기반 MPEG-2 TS(전송 스트림) 패킷 분석 시스템은 TS 패킷의 내용을 분석하고. PSI Table과 SI Table 데이터를 수집하여 분석 할 수 있도록 해준다. 구현된 패킷 분석 시스템은 PAT PMT, NIT, CAT 등의 PSI Table과 BAT, NIT, EIT, SDT 등의 SI Table의 정보를 계층적으로 분류 시켜준다. 또한 그 안의 포함된 다양한 의미의 컨텐츠를 포함하는 여러 종류의 Descriptor들의 정보도 분석해준다. 패킷 분석 시스템은 멀티-쓰레딩과 편리한 데이터 관리를 위해서 몇몇 클래스들로 구성 되어있다. 그리고 패킷 분석 시스템의 GUI는 Swing 라이브러리로 구현되었기 때문에, 시스템은 GUI의 변화 없이 윈도우즈. 리눅스와 같은 여러 가지 플랫폼에서도 안정적으로 동작된다. 본 연구의 시스템은 향후 DSM-CC 메카니즘과 의미적 분석의 구현 그리고 데이터베이스 시스템과의 연동 등으로 심화되어 연구될 것이다.

  • In this paper, the new method to extract the features of iris signals is proposed; Multiresolution ICA (M-ICA) provides good properties to represent signals with time-frequency. The conventional methods were to use the technique of filter bank analysis, while ICA is unsupervised learning algorithm using high-order statistics. M-ICA could make use of strengths of learn- ing method and multiresolution. Also, we performed comparative studies of different feature extraction techniques applied to personal identification using iris pat- tern. To measure goodness of methods, we use Fisher’s discriminant ratio to quantify the class-separability of features generated by various techniques.

  • PAT program(The Proficiency Analytical Testing Program)은 미국산업위생협회(American Industrial Hygiene Association AIHA)와 미국산업안전보건연구원(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health NIOSH)에서 공동주관하는 정도관리로서 일년에 4회 실시하고 있다. 실시항목은 금속(납, 카드뮴, 크롬, 아연), 유리규산, 석면, 유기,용제(Benzen, O-Xylene, Toluene, Carbon Tetrachloride, 1, 1, 1-Trichloroethane, Chloroform, Tetrachloroethylene, 1, 2-Dichloroethane, methanol, p-Dioxane)이다. 대한산업보건협회 산업보건연구소에서는 위의 4가지 항목을 모두 신청하여 1995년 1월에 실시된 120회 부터 참여하였는데 다음은 본 연구소의 120화에 대한 분석방법과 NIOSH로 부터 받은 결과이다.

  • A neuro-fuzzy based circuit to recognize circuit pat-terns is proposed in this paper. The simple algorithm and exemption from the use of template patterns as well as multipliers enable the proposed circuit to implement on the hardware of an economical scale. Furthermore, thanks to the circuit design by using current-mode techniques, the proposed circuit call achieve easy extendability of tile circuit and efficient pattern recognition with high-speed. The validity of the proposed algorithm and tile circuit design is confirmed by computer simulations. The proposed pattern recognition circuit is integrable by a standard CMOS technology.

Laccase Activity and Azo Dye Decolorization Potential of Podoscypha elegans

  • Azo dyes containing effluents from different industries pose threats to the environment. Though there are physico-chemical methods to treat such effluents, bioremediation is considered to be the best eco-compatible technique. In this communication, we discuss the decolorization potentiality of five azo dyes by Podoscypha elegans (G. Mey.) Pat., a macro-fungus, found growing on the leaf-litter layer of Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bengal, India. The fungus exhibited high laccase and very low manganese peroxidase activities under different culture conditions. Decolorization of five high-molecular weight azo dyes, viz., Orange G, Congo Red, Direct Blue 15, Rose Bengal and Direct Yellow 27 by the fungus was found to be positive in all cases. Maximum and minimum mean decolorization percentages were recorded in Rose Bengal (70.41%) and Direct Blue 15 (24.8%), respectively. This is the first record of lignolytic study and dye decolorization by P. elegans.

  • A surface acoustic wave(SAW) sensor for the detection of odorants has been constructed by depositing various phospholipids and fatty acids onto the surface of the SAW device. Applying the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. it was possible to deposit the optimal number of layer which was found to be between 10 and 20. The characteristics of a SAW device operating at 310 MHz deposited with phosphatidyl choline were analysed. Menthone, amylacetate, acetion, and other organic gases sho7\\\\`ed different affinities to the coated lipids. An explanation is given for differant odorant affinities based on the monolayer properties of phospholipids. The identification of odorants depending on the type of lipid used for coating is discussed in terms of a comparison of their normalized resonant frequency chi It pat terns. Using a number of different lipid-coated SAW devices. odorants can be identified by a computerized pattern recognition algorithm.

Sliding Mode Controller Applied to Coupled Inductor Dual Boost Inverters

  • A coupled inductor-dual boost-inverter (CIDBI) with a differential structure has been presented for application to a micro-inverter photovoltaic module system due to its turn ratio of a high-voltage level. However, it is difficult to design a CIDBI converter with a conventional PI regulator to be stable and achieve good dynamic performance, given the fact that it is a high order system. In view of this situation, a sliding mode control (SMC) strategy is introduced in this paper, and two different sliding mode controllers (SMCs) are proposed and adopted in the left and right side of two Boost sub-circuits to implement the corresponding regulation of the voltage and current. The schemes of the SMCs have been elaborated in this paper including the establishment of a system variable structure model, selection of the sliding surface, determination of the control law, and presentation of the reaching conditions and sliding domain. Finally, the mathematic analysis and the proposed SMC are verified by experimental results.
