수경 재배 시 계면 활성제 첨가가 상추와 청경채의 생육과 Se 흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Surfactant Addition on Se Absorption and Growth of Pak-choi and Leaf Lettuce in Hydroponics)

  • 소형의 담액 수경재배기를 이용하여 기본 배양액에 셀레늄(Se) 1mg $L^{-1}$과 계면활성제 PVA-95(polyvinyl alcohol-95) 1, 2, 4mg $L^{-1}$과 CLS(calcium lignosulfonate) 5, 25, 50, 100mg $L^{-1}$을 처리하여 청경채와 상추 식물체의 Se과 양이온 함량, 생육, 그리고 비타민 C 함량을 조사하였다. 생육은 처리간에 차이는 있지만 종류와 농도 별로 일정한 경향을 보이지 않았다. 총 비타민 C 함량은 두 작물 모두 모든 처리구에서 대조구에 비해 약간 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 유의성은 없었다. K 함량은 싱추의 경우는 일정한 경향이 없었지만, 청경채의 경우 Se 1+PVA-95 4mg $L^{-1}$ 처리구가 가장 높았고, Se 1+CLS 처리에서는 대조구에 비해 5mg $L^{-1}$ 농도에서는 증가하였지만 처리 농도가 증가할수록 감소하였다. Ca 함량은 두 작물 모두 Se 1+PVA-95와 CLS 처리에서 대조구에 비해 증가하였다. Mg 함량은 상추에서는 계면 활성제 처리에 의한 Mg 함량의 변화가 없었으며, 청경채에는 Se 1+CLS 25mg $L^{-1}$ 처리구가 대조구에 비해 증가하였고 기타 처리는 차이가 없었다. 식물체내 Se 함량은 상추에서는 계면 활성제 PVA-95 처리와 CLS 처리가 대조구에 비해 Se 함량이 모두 높았고, PVA-95 처리에서는 농도의 증가에 따라 Se 함량이 낮아졌으며, CLS 처리에서는 50mg $L^{-1}$ 까지는 높아졌지만 100mg $L^{-1}$에서는 낮아졌다. 청경채의 엽내 Se 함량은 계면활성제 PVA-95 처리가 큰 효과가 없었으나 CLS 25mg $L^{-1}$ 처리에서 현저히 증가되었다.

Effect of Citrus aurantium var amara on weight change in mice

  • Citrus aurantium var. amara L., commonly known as 'bitter orange' or 'sour orange', of the family Rutaceae, has traditionally been used in the treatment of various ailments, and it possesses different types of pharmacological properties. As a part of our on-going studies on the plantsfrom the Iranian flora, the extract of C. aurantium var. amara has been studied for its weight lossproperties using the mice model. While the Sep-Pak fraction, 20% methanol (MeOH) in water, of the hydro-methanolic extract of the peels of C. aurantium var. amara fruits, when injectedintraperitoneal (i.p.) at a dose of 10 mg/kg, significantly decreased the level of weight gain of the mice in comparison with control the group (P < 0.01), the Sep-Pak fraction 80% MeOH in water decreased the initial weight of mice by 0.44% in six weeks. The administration of the total extract(10 and 20 mg/kg, i.p.), and the Sep-Pak fractions, 40% and 60% MeOH in water (10 mg/kg, i.p.)did not show any significant change of weight of the test mice. Of the two active fractions, the80% MeOH in water fraction did not show any noticeable adverse effects on mice, and was therefore analysed by reversed-phase preparative high performance liquid chromatography resulting in the isolation and identification of four major components, two coumarins, meranzin hydrate (1) and bergamottin (2), and two flavonoids, xanthomicrol 5,4'-di-methyl ether (tangeritin, 3) and hymenoxin 5,7-di-methyl ether (nobiletin, 4).

악관절 잡음에 관한 연구 (A Study of Sound Analysis of Temporomandibular Joint)

  • 저자는 서울대학병원 치과진료부 구강진단과를내원한 두 개하악장애 환자 중, 악관절음이 있음을 호소하는 환자 106명을 대상으로 SonoPAK을 이용하여 악관절음을 분석하고 Transcranial TMJ Series와 파노라마상 판독결과를 종합하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. SonoPAK에 기록된 210회의 발생 악관절음 중 왕복성 관절음은 44건, 88회 발생하였고, 개구시 관절음은 74회, 그리고 폐구시 관절음은 48회 발생하였으며, 개구시에 관절음이 더 빈번히 나타났다. 2. 왕복성 악관절음이 있다고 인정되는 혼자군에서, 개구시 평균 최대 단위는 18.6(%)$\pm$15.6(%), 폐구시 평균 최대 진폭은 16.6(%)$\pm$17.4(%) 이었으며, 개폐구간 진폭의 차이에는 유의성이 없었다. (p>0.05). 3. 악관절음을 미약한 소리, 중간소리, 큰소리로 분류할 수 있었으며 각각 110, 79,21회의 발생을 기록하였다. 4. (>300Hz)/(<300Hz)의 비율이 0인 경우는 34회 였고, 300Hz 이상의 주파수가 관찰된 경우는 176회였다. 5. Transcranial TMJ projection series 와 파노라마상의 판독 결과 하악과두의 골 변화가 인정된 환자군에서 SonoPAK 기록의 평균 주파수 비율((>300Hz)/(<300Hz))은 0.387$\pm$0.284이었고 골 변화가 인지되지는 않았으나 주파수 비율이 0.01 이상인 환자군의 평균은 0.286$\pm$0.227이었다.

식육중 Chlorfluazuron의 잔류분석법 및 잔류량에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Analytical Methods and Quantity of Residual Chlorfluazuron in Meat)

  • Analytical method using capillary GC/ECD was developed to determine trace residues of chlofluazuron, 1-[3, 5-dichloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyloxy)phenyl]-3-(2, 6-difiuorobenzoyl), in meat, and applied to analyze the residues in domestic and imported meats. The analytical scheme developed does not require column chromatographic cleanup; chlorfiuazuron was extracted with diethyl ether and petroleum ether (50: 50), partitioned against acetonitrile, cleaned up with silica Sep-Pak cartridge, identified GC/ECD, and comfirmed by GC/MS. The mean recoveries of the pesticide in meat fortified with standard solution 0.1, 0.5, 0.1 mg/kg were ranged from 82 to 95%. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation were 0.001 and 0.005 mg/kg, respectively. Chlorfluazuron residues were not found in domestic samples, but found in imported Australian beef ranging from 0.02 to 0.17 mg/kg, detected by 18% among the samples.

Expression of Human Stem Cell Factor with Recombinant Baculovirus in BmN Cell Line and Silkworm

  • A recombinant transfer vector pBacSCF was constructed by inserting huamn stem cell factor (hSCF) cDNA into plasmid pBacPAK8. BmN cells were co-transfected with modified Bombyx mori, nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmBacPAK) DNA and the recmbinant transfer vector to construct a recombinant baculovirus containing hSCE gene. DNA dot blotting and RNA dot blotting demonstrated that the hSCE gene was contained in the recombinant virus and transcribed. The recombinant baculovirus was infectious to BmN cells and to silkworm. SDS-PAGE analysis showed a specific band of expressed product in the extract of infected cells and in the heamolymph of infected larvae. Bioactivity of the recombinant hSCE was determined with W-1 cell line and MTT colorimetric method in synergy with interlukin-3 (IL-3). These results revealed that the hSCF gene was over-expressed in cultured cells and lavae of silkworm.

A Lattice Statistical Thermodynamic Study of Bilayer Amphiphile Molecules

  • In order to elucidate conformational properties of bilayer semiflexible amphiphile molecules, we derive a expression of free energy separation with respect to bilayer width, and segment density profiles on the basis of cubic lattice model. Our result shows that at the moderate surface coverage region (i.e., ${\sigma}$ < 0.35), bilayer system tends to have thermodynamically favorable bilayer width corresponding to free energy minimum condition resulting from the major contribution of attractive interaction between chain segments. However such a favorable bilayer width do not occur in the region of high surface converage (i.e., ${\sigma}$> 0.4) where repulsive interaction between chain segments is considered to be dominant.

Yield and Nutritional Quality of Several Non-heading Chinese Cabbage (Brassica rapa var. chinensis) Cultivars with Different Growing Period and Its Modelling

  • The aims of the experiment, conducted over three years in the Central Europe field conditions, were (1) to investigate the effect of growing period (plantings in the middle and at the end of August: $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ term, respectively) on yield and chemical composition of the non-heading Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa var. chinensis) cultivars 'Taisai', 'Pak Choy White', and 'Green Fortune', and (2) to develop regression models to evaluate the changes in crop yields as a function of weather conditions. A highest marketable yield was obtained from 'Taisai' (65.71 and 77.20 $t{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), especially in the $2^{nd}$ term of production. Low yield, observed for 'Pak Choy White' was due to its premature bolting. Almost 39% ($1^{st}$ term) and 70% ($2^{nd}$ term) of plants of this cultivar formed inflorescence shoots before harvest. The highest dry matter level was observed in the leaf petioles of 'Taisai', while 'Green Fortune' was the most abundant of carotenoids and L-ascorbic acid. The content of soluble sugars was the lowest for 'Pak Choy White'. In a phase of harvest maturity, more of the analyzed constituents were gathered by plants from earlier plantings, and differences were as follows: 4.7% (dry matter), 26.3% (carotenoids) and 22.1% (L-ascorbic acid), in comparison to $2^{nd}$ term of production. Significant increase of soluble sugars level was observed for plants from later harvest. The regression model for marketable yield of Chinese cabbage cultivar 'Taisai' as a function of maximum air temperature can predict the yield with accuracy 68%. The models for yield or bolting of 'Pak Choy White', based on extreme air temperatures and sunshine duration, were more precise (98%). It should be pointed out that Taisai could be recommended for later growing period in Central Europe conditions with regard to maximum yield potential. 'Green Fortune' was notable for its uniform yielding. To obtained plants of higher nutritional value, earlier time of cultivation should be suggested. Described models can be successfully applied for an approximate simulation of Chinese cabbage yielding.

  • 본 연구는 식물공장에서 청경채와 상추의 발아조건과 육묘배지 및 육묘 시 양액농도가 묘의 생육에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 수행되었다. 청경채와 상추의 발아율은 광의 유무와 온도처리(15, 20, $25^{\circ}C$) 간에 유의적 차이가 없었으나, 육묘배지 간에는 우레탄스펀지의 경우 파종 전 후 수분관리 유 무에 따라 큰 차이를 보였다. 즉, 우레탄스펀지 배지에서 파종전 후 수분관리를 하지 않았을 경우 암면에 비해 발아율이 현저히 낮았으나, 수분관리를 해주었을 때에는 암면보다 발아율이 높았으며, 묘의 생육도 암면과 차이가 없었다. 그리고 청경채의 생체중은 EC $1.0dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$에서 $1.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$에서보다 1.8배 무거웠고, $0.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$에서보다는 6배 무거웠다. 상추의 생체중 또한 EC $1.0dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$$1.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$$0.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$에 비해 1.7배와 3.5배 각각 무거웠다.

  • We study (n+3)-dimensional contact three CR submanifolds of a Riemannian manifold with Sasakian three structure and investigate some characterizations of $S^{4r+3}$(a) $\times$ $S^{4s+3}$(b) ($a^2$$b^2$=1, 4(r + s) = n - 3) as a contact three CR sub manifold of a (4m+3)-dimensional unit sphere.
