Exploring the Applicability of the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning for Smart Pad Based Learning with a Focus on Principles of Multimedia and Individual Differences (스마트 패드 기반 학습 프로그램에서 멀티미디어 학습에 관한 인지이론적 원리의 적용가능성 탐색: 멀티미디어 원리와 개인차 원리를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the cognitive theory of Multimedia learning in a Smart Pad environment. Specifically, the viability of the multimedia principle and individual difference principle was tested for this study. To accomplish this, participants were divided into two groups based on their prior knowledge level (high/low), and members of each group were given one of two Smart Pad based programs, one text-based and the other text and image based. Results indicate that the use of images and the interaction between image use and prior knowledge did not have a significant effect on cognitive load levels. However, there were significant effects on learning achievement. This study implies that when developing Smart Pad based learning content, the small screen size compared to PC monitors, types and functions of images, and learning objectives should be considered.

Integrated Superstructure Design of Elastic Components to Improve the Track Performance (궤도의 성능향상을 위한 탄성구성요소로 통합된 상부구조 설계)

  • Track elastic components can be technically and economically efficient when integrated well into track superstructure of a railway network. In such cases, the elastic rail pad is larger than a 800m radius curve provides smooth rail branching and allows for high-speed operation ($V{\geq}160km/h$). High track resistance causes the tamping intervals to stand out because the constantly increasing share of the sleeper pad further extends the increase of the tamping interval and the long grinding period; the engineering and construction of the small curve radius track provides some measures for reducing the solid sounds. Installation of elastic mats under the ballast can have a good effect, particularly in the context of protection against dust during construction or extensive renovation measures when laying new lines. However, such a process requires special attention and proper installation.

  • In today's modern society, along with the 4th industrial revolution, digitalization is rapidly progressing from everyday life to the entire industry. In the field of education, support is being provided at the government level, such as the dissemination of digital devices to create a digital educational environment, and the use of digital devices is remarkably increasing at the level of individual students as well. In the fashion design education field of universities, the number of students using tablet PCs and applications such as iPads is increasing and the scope of its application is expanding, from design concept setting and idea generation to design sketches in the early fashion design process, as well as diagramming and portfolio work. For fashion design sketching, it was found that students mainly use Procreate or Clip Studio applications with iPad. Therefore, by identifying the differentiated functions and characteristics of Procreate and Clip Studio, and examining design sketch examples using them, the possibility of effective use of iPad applications was presented and problems were also examined. Through this study, it is intended to provide basic data for fashion design education that can increase students' interest and achievement by using the iPad application.

  • A spent fuel storage cask is required to prove the safety of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. A hypothetical accidental drop condition means that a canister is assumed to be a lee drop on to a pad of the storage cask during loading it into a storage cask. A pad of the storage cask absorbs shock to maintain the structural integrities of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. In this paper a finite element analysis for various pad structures was carried out to improve the structural integrity of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. A pad of a storage cask was designed a steel structure with concrete. The 1/4 height of a pad was modified with a structure composed of a steel and a polyurethane foam as a impact limiter. The effect of a shape of a steel structure was studied. The effects of the thickness of a steel structure and the density of a polyurethane foam was also studied.

DRAM Package Substrate Using Aluminum Anodization (알루미늄 양극산화를 사용한 DRAM 패키지 기판)

  • A new package substrate for dynamic random access memory(DRAM) devices has been developed using selective aluminum anodization. Unlike the conventional substrate structure commonly made by laminating epoxy-based core and copper clad, this substrate consists of bottom aluminum, middle anodic aluminum oxide and top copper. Anodization process on the aluminum substrate provides thick aluminum oxide used as a dielectric layer in the package substrate. Placing copper traces on the anodic aluminum oxide layer, the resulting two-layer metal structure is completed in the package substrate. Selective anodization process makes it possible to construct a fully filled via structure. Also, putting vias directly in the bonding pads and the ball pads in the substrate design, via in pad structure is applied in this work. These arrangement of via in pad and two-layer metal structure make routing easier and thus provide more design flexibility. In a substrate design, all signal lines are routed based on the transmission line scheme of finite-width coplanar waveguide or microstrip with a characteristic impedance of about $50{\Omega}$ for better signal transmission. The property and performance of anodic alumina based package substrate such as layer structure, design method, fabrication process and measurement characteristics are investigated in detail.

  • 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링은 고속안정성 특성이 우수한 베어링으로서 시스템의 안정성이 매우 중요시되는 터빈발전기 등 대형 고속 회전기계에 많이 사용되고 있다. 그런데 이들 대형 저어널베어링에서는 유막의 온도상승이 매우 많고, 유체의 흐름이 거의 난류영역에 이르기 때문에 베어링의 운전특성을 정확하게 예측하기가 어려운 실정이다. Hopf & Schuler는 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링에 대한 실험적 연구에서 유동상태에 따라 베어링의 온도분포가 서로 달라진다고 발표하였다. 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링은 구조적으로 유동상태가 복잡할 뿐만 아니라 계산과정도 까다로운 편이어서 온도상승과 난류를 고려하여 엄밀하게 운전특성을 예측한 연구는 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어리으이 운전특성을 보다 엄밀하게 예측하기 위하여 3차원 적으로 유막의 점도변화 및 패드에서의 열전달을 고려하고, 와점성계수를 이용한 난류윤활이론을 사용하여 유막의 온도상승 및 난류가 베어링의 온도분포, 부하능력, 마찰손실 등의 운전특성에 미치는 영햐을 보다 엄밀하게 제시하고자 한다.

Development of Sports Brassiere Pattern Using 3D Shaping Technology (3차원 쉐이핑 기술을 활용한 스포츠 브래지어 개발)

  • This study used 3D technology to develop a multi-functional sports brassiere with increased comfort and fit that can be worn as a base layer during exercise or as underwear. A 75A size industrial lingerie figure was used to develop a standard pattern. 3D tools for scanning and pattern making, such as Vivid 910, Geomagic Design X, 2C-AN and Yuka CAD were used. The sports brassiere was designed as a tank top style with dual structure and linings attached to a pad utilized with a sport brassiere mold cup. 3D outer and lining's pattern was differently developed in consideration of the body's curvature with pad's shape and structure. Shoulder and neck part reduction rates were adjusted to increase the neck areas fit that considered the nude pattern's structure due to uncomfortableness felt by wearers who were uncomfortable with the neck areas fit on existing brand products. The reduction rate was also set differently on each part. For example, the reduction rate on outer side panel was set strongly to increase the breast's volume. Two products, developed by a 3D sports brassiere and previously released product, were worn on 8 subjects in their 20's to evaluate fit, comfort, and purchase preferences. The evaluation proved that newly developed 3D products were superior to comparative products. The results of the clothing pressure measurement indicate that the newly developed sports brassiere's front part had less pressure on upper bust and shoulder areas compared to comparative products as well as showed less pressure on the back side, which shows improved wearing comfort compared to comparative products.

알칼리성 슬러리를 이용한 단결정 및 다결정 실리콘의 화학적 기계적 연마 특성 평가

  • CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization)는 고직접도의 다층구조의 소자를 형성하기 위한 표면연마 공정으로 사용되며, pattern 크기의 감소에 따른 공정 중요도는 증가하고 있다. 반도체 소자 제조 공정에서는 낮은 비용으로 초기재료를 만들 수 있고 우수한 성능의 전기 절연성질을 가지는 산화막을 만들 수 있는 단결정 실리콘 웨이퍼가 주 재료로 사용되고 있으며, 반도체 공정에서 실리콘 웨이퍼 표면의 거칠기는 후속공정에 매우 큰 영향을 미치므로 CMP 공정을 이용한 평탄화 공정이 필수적이다. 다결정 실리콘 박막은 현재 IC, RCAT (Recess Channel Array Transistor), 3차원 FinFET 제조 공정에서 사용되며 CMP공정을 이용한 표면 거칠기의 최소화에 대한 연구의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 알칼리성 슬러리를 이용한 단결정 및 다결정 실리콘의 식각 및 연마거동에 대한 특성평가를 실시하였다. 화학적 기계적 연마공정에서 슬러리의 pH는 슬러리의 분산성, removal rate 등 결과에 큰 영향을 미치고 연마대상에 따라 pH의 최적조건이 달라지게 된다. 따라서 단결정 및 다결정 실리콘 연마공정의 최적 조건을 확립하기 위해 static etch rate, dynamic etch rate을 측정하였으며 연마공정상의 friction force 및 pad의 온도변화를 관찰한 후 removal rate을 계산하였다. 실험 결과, 단결정 실리콘은 다결정 실리콘보다 static/dynamic etch rate과 removal rate이 높은 것으로 나타났으며 슬러리의 pH에 따른 removal rate의 증가율은 다결정 실리콘이 더 높은 것으로 관찰되었다. 또한 다결정 실리콘 연마공정에서는 friction force 및 pad의 온도가 단결정 실리콘 연마공정에 비해 상대적으로 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 단결정 실리콘의 연마 공정에서는 화학적 기계적인 거동이 복합적으로 작용하지만 다결정 실리콘의 경우 슬러리를 통한 화학적인 영향보다는 공정변수에 따른 기계적인 영향이 재료 연마율에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 이를 통한 최적화된 공정개발이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • The brake system is important part of automobile safety system. The disc brake system is divided two parts: the rotating axisymmetrical disc and the stationary pads. During braking, the kinetic energy and potential energy of moving vehicle were converted into the thermal energy through frictional heat between the brake disc and the pads. The frictional heat, which is generated on the interface of the disc and pads, can cause high temperature during the braking process. The object of present work is to determine temperature and thermal stress, to compare to simulation results and experimental results in the disc by partial 3D model of ventilated disc brake with appropriate boundary conditions. In the simulation process, the mechanical loads were applied to the thermo-mechanical coupling analysis in order to simulate the process of heat produced by friction.

An analysis of the performance of sector shaped, pivoted pad thrust bearings in consideraation of the inlet pressure (패드의 선단압력을 고려한 부채꼴 모양의 피봇식 추력베어링의 성능해석)

  • The influence of the inlet pressure on bearing performance of tilting pad bearings in laminar regime is examined. A simple flow model is presented to calculate the inlet pressure in inlet flow that occurs at a short distance ahead of the bearing inlet. The bearing performances are obtained, load capacity, friction torque and lubricated flow-rate, etc, numerically for the inlet pressure boundary conditions with and without pressure jump. The computed results of both cases show that bearing performance and the optimum pivot position changes remarkably according to the bearing operating conditions. The influence of the inlet pressure on bearing performance must be considered to analyze the bearing performance precisely.
