This study surveys the tension differences between Textec and Vamatex looms and analyses fabric mechanical properties using KES-FB system according to warp and weft tension differences. Fabric is designed as 5 harness satin weave using 150d/48f warp and 200d/384f weft polyester filaments, and is woven by $Omega^{\circledR$-Panter rapier loom by Textec Co.Ltd and P1001es rapier loom by Vamatex Co.Ltd., respectively. These grey fabrics are processed on the same dyeing and finishing processes. Weavability is also analysed by measuring warp tension variation according to the warp position. The relationship between shed amount and the warp tension on one fixed heald frame is surveyed, and the relationship between end breaks and warp and weft tensions is also discussed.
This study was conducted to evaluate fish cake made from salmon Oncorhynchus keta frame muscle (FC-SFM) in terms of taste, flavor, and nutritional characteristics. FC-SFM was significantly higher in moisture and lower in ash and carbohydrate than commercial fish cake (CFC). There were no significant differences in protein and lipid contents between FC-SFM and CFC (P<0.05). The total amino acid content of FC-SFM was higher than that of CFC. The major amino acids found in FC-SFM were aspartic acid and glutamic acid. The mineral content based on 100 g of FC-SFM was 76.7 mg calcium, 126.3 mg phosphorus, 19.1 mg magnesium, and 88.7 mg potassium. The total fatty acid content of FC-SFM was 1,833 mg/100 g, which was lower than that of CFC. The major fatty acids found in FC-SFM were 16:0, 18:1n-9, and 18:2n-6. The eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid content of FC-SFM was higher than that of CFC. The results suggest that FC-SFM has different nutritional characteristics to CFC, and FC-SFM could be commercialized.
The study deals with the physical modeling of a typical building frame resting on pile foundation and embedded in cohesive soil mass using complete three-dimensional finite element analysis. Two different pile groups comprising four piles ($2{\times}2$) and nine piles ($3{\times}3$) are considered. Further, three different pile diameters along with the various pile spacings are considered. The elements of the superstructure frame and those of the pile foundation are descretized using twenty-node isoparametric continuum elements. The interface between the pile and pile and soil is idealized using sixteen-node isoparametric surface elements. The current study is an improved version of finite element modeling for the soil elements compared to the one reported in the literature (Chore and Ingle 2008). The soil elements are discretized using eight-, nine- and twelve-node continuum elements. Both the elements of superstructure and substructure (i.e., foundation) including soil are assumed to remain in the elastic state at all the time. The interaction analysis is carried out using sub-structure approach in the parametric study. The total stress analysis is carried out considering the immediate behaviour of the soil. The effect of various parameters of the pile foundation such as spacing in a group and number piles in a group, along with pile diameter, is evaluated on the response of superstructure. The response includes the displacement at the top of the frame and bending moment in columns. The soil-structure interaction effect is found to increase displacement in the range of 58 -152% and increase the absolute maximum positive and negative moments in the column in the range of 14-15% and 26-28%, respectively. The effect of the soil- structure interaction is observed to be significant for the configuration of the pile groups and the soil considered in the present study.
A strain producing strongly fibrinolytic enzyme was isolated from soil and was identified to be Bacillus subtilis by biochemical and physiological characterization. The optimal culture conditions for the production of fibrinolytic enzyme was determined to be 1.0% tryptone, 1.5% soluble starch, 0.5% Peptone, 0.5% NaCl, $(NH_{4})_{3}PO_4.3H_{2}O, and MgSO_{4}.7H_{2}O.$ Initial pH and temperature were pH 8.0 and $30^{\circ}C$ , respectively, The highest enzyme production was observed at 30 hours of cultivation at $30^{\circ}C$ The fibrinolytic enzyme was purified to homogeneity by DEAE Sephadex A-50 ion exchange column chromatography, 70% ammonium sulfate precipitation, Sephadex G-200 and G-75 gel filtration column chromatography. The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was 28,000 as determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A gene encoding the fibrinolytic enzyme was cloned into a plasmid vector pBluescript, transforming E.coli XL-1 Blue. The clone was able to degrade fibrin, This indicated that the gene could encode a fibrinolytic enzyme. The nucleotide sequence of the 2.7 kb insert was determined in both direction. One open reading frame composed of 1023 nucleotides was found to be a potential protein coding region. There was the putative Shine-Dalgano sequence and TATA box upstream of the open reading frame. The homology search data in the genome database showed that both the 2.7 kb insert and 1 kb open reading frame carried no significance in the nucleotide sequence of known fibrinolytic enzyme from Bacillus serovars. The recombinant cell harboring the novel gene involved in fibrinolysis was subjected to protein purification. The molecular mass of the purified fibrinolytic enzyme was determined to be 31864 Dalton, which was highly in accordance with the molecular mass(33 kDa) of the fibrinolytic gene deduced from the insert. The fibrinolytic enzyme was Purified 50.5 folds to homogeneity in overall yield of 10.7% by DEAE Sephadex A-50 ion exchange, 85% ammonium sulfate precipitation, Sephadex G-50, Superdex 75 HR FPLC gel filtration. In conclusion, a novel fibrinolytic gene from Bacillus subtilis was identified and characterized by cloning a genomic library of Bacillus subtilis into pBleuscript. For the soybean fermented by this strain, it is found that there increased assistant protein about 20% compared to the soybean not fermented and increased about 30% according to amino acid analysis and, in particular, essential amino acid increased about 40%. When keeping this fermented soybean powder at room temperature for about 70days, it showed very high stability maintaining almost perfect activity and, therefore, it gave us great suggestion its possibility of development as a new functional food.
Coprinellus congregatus secreted a laccase isozyme when the culture was transferred to an acidic liquid medium (pH 4.1). The laccase cDNA gene (clac2) was used as a probe for cloning of the genomic laccase gene (lac2) including the promoter (Plac2). The open reading frame (ORF) of lac2 had 526 deduced amino acids and four conserved copper binding domains as other fungal laccases. Recombinant plasmid (pRSlac2p-cDNA) of lac2 cDNA with its own promoter was transformed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Expression of the transformed lac2 gene was induced by oxidative stress ($H_2O_2$) in yeast and the survival rate of the transformed yeast strain was greatly increased when compared with that of the control strain transformed with pRS316 yeast vector.
The reaction cross-sections of $^{nat}$Ti(p,X)$^{48}$ V, $^{nat}$Fe(p,X)$^{56}$ Co, $^{nat}$Cu(p,X)$^{65}$ Zn and $^{nat}$Mo(p,X)$^{96}$ Tc for TLA application are calculated in the frame of the ECIS-GNASH code system up to 60 MeV. The calculated results are compared with the experimental data taken from the EXFOR at the NEA Data Bank. A preliminary calculation with the global optical parameters of Varner et al. shows considerable differences from the experimental data at low energy range. The global optical parameters for the imaginary volume potential and the diffuseness of the imaginary potential are adjusted to achieve a better description of the experimental data in the vicinities of peak position below 16 MeV. 16 MeV.
We have developed and tested a CCD camera (100 $\times$ 100 pixels) system for observing Ha images of the solar flares with time resolution> 25 msec. The 512 $\times$ 512 pixels image of CCD camera at 2 Mpixels/sec can be recorded at the rate of more than 5 frame/sec while 100 $\times$ 100 pixels area image can be obtained 40 frames/sec. The 100 $\times$ 100 pixels image of CCD camera corresponds to 130 $\times$ 130 arc - $sec^2$ of the solar disk.
Under the huge seismic loads, there are too many risks about which high-rise buildings lost their lateral stiffness caused by plasticity on frame members. Because of earthquake is important cause to bring the collapes countinue to human's life, many reports examined these phenomenons in various angles. And some of them reported the high possibility about building collapse by deformation concentrations under huge earthquakes. For preventing these phenomenons, researchers suggest some items-such as adding damping devices or strengthen their ductility or stifness. This report suggests choose the method of strengthen building stiffness and suggests the alternative designs using high strength steel-SM570TMC, and provides the results of time-history analysis about the alternative designs for investigation.
