  • This paper deals with an observer design for a P-Cell Chopper. The goal is to reduce drastically the number of sensors in such system by using an observer in order to estimate all the capacitor voltages. Furthermore, considering an instantaneous model of a p-cell chopper, an interconnected observer is designed in order to estimate the capacitor voltages and some parameters of the model. This is realized by using only the load current measurement. Simulation results are given in order to illustrate the performance of such observer. To show the validity of our approach, experimental based a DSP results are presented.

  • This paper is proposed to a solar cell power system used in fire emergency equipment. Also it is designed with a high efficiency power converter in order to increase efficiency of power system. The controlling switches used in DC-DC booster chopper and DC-AC inverter are operated with soft switching, which is applied to resonant circuit method to reduce switching loss. The result is that the system gets to high efficiency. In this paper, A detection circuit of maximum power point of solar cell is described in this paper. And the performance evaluations for the photovoltaic power system of high efficiency are examined by the analysis of a new tracking controller with a maximum power $P_{max}$ detection of solar cell.

  • As well known, a solar cell has an optimal operating point to be able to get the maximum power $P_{max}$. So, many $P_{max}$ tracking controllers using the line voltage of a solar cell have been popularly used. But it may vary depending on the miss match between the solar cell output and the load. In this paper, we investigate the possibilities of $P_{max}$ control using the current tracking controller and the output voltage and the output current instead of the solar cell output power. And we also examine about the optimal power converter using ZVCS step up and down chopper circuit to operate the solar cell at an optimal voltage using these variables. And then, we show some experimental results to confirm the successful operation.

  • The solar cell has an optimum operating point to be able to get maximum power. To obtain maximum power from Photovoltaic array, potovolt aic power syste usually requres maximum power point tracking controller. The output characteristics of solar cell are nonlinear, and these characteristics vary with load solar insolation, solar cell temperature. Therefore the tracking control of maximum power point is the complicated problem. This paper presents power characteristics of residential Photovoltaic system applying a quck-boost conversion system.

  • Maximum power point tracking for PV systems traditionally uses either perturbation and observation method or incremental conductance method. Both methods require modulation of the output voltage and this leads to significant power loss. In this paper, a method, which senses output circuit voltage and short circuit current and use the above two parameters for optimum control with a fuzzy controller, is introduced. The short circuit current of PV cell represents illumination, and the output circuit voltage carry on information about the temperature. PCS(power conditioning system) is controlled not only feed to inverter for stability voltage variation despite of variety external environment, but also operate in order to feeding voltage and current at maximum power point by boost type chopper.

  • Purpose : We intended to observe cell death and apoptotic changes in neurons in organotypic hippocampal slice cultures following oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD), using propidium iodide (PI) uptake, Fluoro-Jade (FJ) staining, TUNEL staining and immunofluorescent staining for caspase-3. Methods : The hippocampus of 7-day-old rats was cut into $350{\mu}m$ slices. The slices were cultured for 10 d (date in vitro, DIV 10) and and exposed to OGD for 60 min at DIV 10. They were then incubated for reperfusion under normoxic conditions for an additional 48 h. Fluorescence of PI uptake was observed at predetermined intervals, and the cell death percentage was recorded. At 24 h following OGD, the slices were Cryo-cut into $15{\mu}m$ thicknesses, and Fluoro-Jade staining, TUNEL staining, and immunofluorescence staining for caspase-3 were performed. Results : 1) PI uptake was restricted to the pyramidal cell layer and DG in the slices after OGD. The fluorescent intensities of PI increased from 6 to 48 h during the reperfusion stage. The cell death percentage significantly increased time-dependently in CA1 and DG following OGD (P<0.05). 2) At 24 h after OGD, many FJ positive cells were detected in CA1 and DG. Some neurons had distinct nuclei and processes while others had fragmented nuclei and disrupted processes in CA1. TUNEL and immunofluorescent staining for caspase-3 showed increased expression of TUNEL labeling and caspase-3 in CA1 and DG at 24 h after OGD. Conclusion : The numerous dead cells in the slice cultures after OGD tended to display apoptotic changes mediated by the activation of caspase-3.
