초지에서 시비관리의 차이가 사초생산과 식생에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Different Fertilizer Management on Forage Production and Botanical composition)

  • The effects of different fertilizer management on herbage production and botanical composition were determined. Field experiments were conducted during 1991 - 1993 on sandy loam soil at Allgiu south western Germany under variabling fertilizer management; cattle slurry, NPK, PK chemical fertilizer management and zero fertilization. The dry matter yield of forage was the highest in the plot of mineral fertilizer and lowest in the plot of without fertilization. The dry matter yield of P-K application was higher by 1.2 ton than that of without fertilization. The content of crude protein, crude fibre, digestible dry matter yield, net energy and nitrogen content of plants was not significantly different among different fertilizer management. N uptake of plants was in the order NPK chemical fertilizer (347kg N/ha) > cattle slurry (337kg N/ha) > P-K chemical fertilizer (325kg N/ha) > without fertilization (3 15kg N/ha).

Effect of Phosphorus on the Cadmium Transfer and ROS-scavenging Capacity of Rice Seedlings

  • Environmental toxicity due to cadmium (Cd) pollution in croplands causes critical problems worldwide. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is an important crop in Asia, including South Korea, and numerous studies have evaluated the relationship between Cd and antioxidants to alleviate Cd uptake from the soil into plants. However, information about the relationship between phosphorus (P) and antioxidants in rice seedlings is still limited with regard to Cd phytotoxicity. We therefore investigated the physiological responses of rice (Oryza sativa L. cv 'Dongjin') seedlings to Cd toxicity and the effect of P application on reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant changes. The exposure of rice seedlings to $30{\mu}M$ Cd inhibited plant growth; increased the contents of superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, and malondialdehyde; and induced Cd uptake by the roots and leaves. Application of P to Cd-exposed seedlings decreased Cd-induced oxidative stress by enhancing the capacity of ascorbate (AsA) production and ROS-scavenging, and decreased Cd transfer from the roots to the leaves. These results suggest that P application alleviated Cd-induced growth inhibition and oxidative damage by restricting Cd translocation from the roots to the leaves and maintaining sufficient levels of AsA.

Hydraulic Characteristics of Arable Fields in Korea and Applicability of Pedotransfer Functions

  • Relationships between saturated conductivity (Ks) and separate contents were evaluated from 44 soil series of arable lands: 18 for paddy fields and 26 for upland crop fields. Saturated hydraulic conductivities of A, B, and C horizons were determined with tension infiltrometer and Guelph permeameter in situ. Sand, silt, clay, and organic matter content of each horizon were analyzed. Based on correlation analysis, sand separate had a positive relationship with Ks for both paddy (r=0.27, p=0.017) and upland fields (r=0.24. p=0.030). Clay content had a negative relationship with Ks for paddy soils (r=-0.32, p=0.005) while significant correlation between them was not found for upland crop fields (r=-0.20, p=0.07). Organic matter content showed a positive relationship with Ks only for upland crop fields (r=0.33, p=0.002). Due to low correlation coefficients between separate contents and Ks, performance of pedotransfer functions was not enough to estimate Ks. It implies that hydraulic properties of arable lands were affected by other factors rather than particle characteristics. Platy structure and plow pan were suggested to limit Ks of paddy fields. Soil compaction and diversity of parent materials were proposed to influence Ks of upland crop fields. It suggests that genetic processes and artificial managements should be included in pedotransfer functions to estimate hydraulic properties appropriately.

Microbial Community Structure of Paddy Soil Under Long-term Fertilizer Treatment Using Phospholipid Fatty Acid (PLFA) Analysis

  • Understanding the microbial community structure of agricultural soils is important for better soil management in order to improve soil quality. Phospholipid fatty acid analysis has been popularly used in determining the microbial community structure in different ecosystems. The microbial community structure of paddy soil under long-term fertilizer treatments was investigated after 45 years using PLFA analysis. Treatments were control (no fertilization, Con), compost (COM), NPK, NPK+compost (NPKC), PK, NK, and NP. Soil chemical properties were mainly affected by the addition of compost and inorganic P fertilizer. Total nitrogen and organic matter contents were significantly higher in treatments with compost while available $P_2O_5$ and exchangeable calcium were significantly higher in treatments with added inorganic P fertilizer. It was found that microbial communities were responsive to the different fertilizer treatments. PLFA results showed that the soils were dominated by gram-negative bacteria, followed by the actinomycetes, then gram-positive bacteria, and fungi. Principal component analysis of the soil chemical properties and PLFA composition proved to be a more reliable tool because it was more responsive to the changes in soil chemical properties.

  • 밭 토양(土壤)에 삼요소(三要素) 및 규산질(珪酸質) 비료(肥料) 250㎏/10a와 퇴비(堆肥) 1,000kg/10a를 18년간(年間)('75~'92)매년(每年) 연용시(連用時) 년차간(年次間) 보리 수량(收量)의 변화(變化)와 토양(土壤)의 이화학적(理化學的) 성질변화(性質變化) 및 18년차(年次)의('92)보리 수확기(收穫期) 경엽(莖葉)과 곡실(穀實)의 영양상태(營養狀態)를 분석(分析)하여 수량(收量) 증대(增大)에 미친 영향(影響)과 토양(土壤)의 이화학적(理化學的) 성질변화(性質變化)를 비교(比較) 검토(檢討)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 18년차(年次) 처리별(處理別) 종실수량(種實收量)은 삼요소(三要素) 대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 삼요소(三要素)+규산(珪酸), 삼요소(三要素)+퇴비연용구(堆肥連用區)는 17~18% 증대(增大)되어, 규산처리구(珪酸處理區)는 퇴비처리구(堆肥處理區)와 유사(類似)한 효과(效果)가 인정(認定)되었다 2. 수확기(收穫期) 보리식물체(植物體)의 양분흡수량(養分吸收量)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果) 삼요소(三要素)+규산(珪酸) 및 삼요소(三要素)+퇴비연용구(堆肥連用區)는 삼요소(三要素) 대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 6~8%의 흡수량(吸收量)이 증가(增加)되었다. 그리고 삼요소(三要素) 대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 삼요소(三要素)+규산(珪酸) 및 삼요소(三要素)+퇴비(堆肥) 연용구(連用區)는 인산(燐酸)과 가리(可里)의 시비효율(施肥效率)이 현저(顯著)히 증가(增加)되었다. 3. 시험후(試驗後) 토양분석(土壤分析) 결과(結果) 삼요소(三要素)+규산(珪酸) 및 삼요소(三要素)+퇴비연용구(堆肥連用區)는 삼요소(三要素) 대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 토양(土壤)pH, 유기물(有機物), 인산(燐酸), 치환성염기(置換性鹽基) 및 규산함량(珪酸含量)은 증가(增加)하였으나, $NO_3$-N 함량(含量)은 다소(多少) 적었다. 4. 18년간(年間)의 평균(平均) 종실(種實) 수량(收量)은 삼요소(三要素)+대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 삼요소(三要素)+규산(珪酸) 250kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 22%, 삼요소(三要素)+퇴비(堆肥) 1,000kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 31%의 증수(增收) 효과(效果)가 있었다.

  • 남부지방에서 답리작으로 휴경답의 제고를 위하여 골풀의 시비량을 구명코자 시험하였던바 묘상에서의 시비량은 $N-P_{2}O_{5}-K_{2}O=60-30-60kg/10a$의 양으로 육성한 묘들은 본답에 가서도 수량 및 수량구성요소가 우수하였다. 따라서 골풀의 묘상 시비량은 $N-P_{2}O_{5}-K_{2}O=60-30-60kg/10a$ 이여야 된다고 생각된다.

Effect of Different Fertilizer Ratio and Planting Dates on Growth and Acanthoside D content of Acanthopanax divaricatus and Acanthopanax koreanum

  • The cultivation methods of Acanthopanax in Korea need to be optimized. Hence, this study investigated the effect of different fertilizer ratios and planting dates on the growth and acanthoside D content of two (2) Acanthopanax species. The current recommended fertilizer rate of 10.5-8.5-8.5 $kg/ha^-$ ($N-P_2O_5-K_2O$, respectively) produced the best plant growth of Acanthopanax. For the first year, the acanthoside D content resulting from the 2P (2x phosphate) rate was higher than that from the other fertilizer ratios, yet there were no significant differences resulting from the various treatments for either Acanthopanax divaricatus or Acanthopanax koreanum. Similarly, for the second year, there were no significant differences in the acanthoside D content resulting from the various fertilizer ratios, although for both species the acanthoside D content resulting from the 2P rate was slightly higher than that from the other treatments. Therefore, the results indicated that doubling the amount of phosphate increased the acanthoside D content. Plus, the optimum planting date with respect to growth and productivity for Acanthopanax divaricatus was identified as April 15.

Establishment of Phosphorus Flow Model in Urban Area using Material Flow Analysis

  • Phosphorus (P) is an essential nutrient for all living organisms. P is mostly obtained from mined rock phosphate. However, existing rock phosphate reserves could be exhausted in the next 50-100 years. As Korea is totally dependent on imported rock phosphate, we should seek for solution to overcome the P depletion by efficient use and recycling. For this, this study suggested a P flow model to identify the location and flow route of P in urban area based on traditional material flow analysis. The type of P entering the urban areas are fertilizer, food and feed. Each type of P is used in agriculture, human consumption and animal husbandry. After going through each process, P is moved to waste management facilities within food waste, excreta and sewage. Some portion of P in waste are buried, incinerated and discharged, which can be reservoir of P in the future.

토양분석치(土壤分析値)에 의(依)한 작물별(作物別) 인산(燐酸) 및 가리시비량(加里施肥量) 결정법(決定法) (Recommendation of P and K Fertilizers for Crops Based on Soil Testing)

  • Upon the assumption that the available components in the soil evaluated by present analytical procedures, are as effective as the components applied to the soil as fertilizer, some formulas for the calculation of fertilizer requirements (F. R) for crops are suggested. Basically, the formulas are derived by combining the country average values of soil test data(${\overline{ST}}$) and of the optimum rate of fertilizers (ORF) for crops obtained from N.P.K. trials in farmer's field, as following. $$F.R(kg/10a)={\overline{ST}}(kg/10a)+ORFkg/10a-ST(kg/10a)$$ where, ST denotes the available components tested in the soil under question. Although this formula can be used both for P and K fertilizers, considering the significance of the potassium saturation rate of the soil for the availability of K, for the calculation of K fertilizer requirement, following formula is suggested. $$F.R(kg/10a)=(C.E.C.{\times}B.S.R.K.-KST(me/100g){\times}CF$$ where, B. S. R. K. is the basic potassium saturation rate of the soil and CF is conversion factor for the conversion of K me/100g into $K_2O$ kg/10a. The B. S. R. K. for different crops are obtained from the country average values of soil exchangeable K (${\overline{KST}}$), cation exchange capacity (CEC) and the optimum rates of K fertilizers for crops (ORF $K_2O$). $$B.S.R.K.=\frac{{\overline{KST}}{\times}CF+ORF(K_2O)}{CEC{\times}CF}$$ Using these formulas, equations for P and K fertilizer requirements for rice, barley, wheat, corn, italian millet, soy bean, sweet potato, potato and rape are derived.

화학비료 50년 연용에 따른 벼수량과 논토양 특성 변화 (Changes in Rice Yield and Soil Properties under Continued Application of Chemical Fertilizer for 50 Years in Paddy Soil)

  • 농업과학기술원에서 보유하고 있는 국내 최장기 연구용 논토양에서 1954년부터 2003년까지 50년간 3요소 화학비료와 유안 및 요소비료를 장기간 연용 했을 때 벼의 생산력과 토양의 이화학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다 정조수량을 3요소구의 수량지수 100에 대하여 유안단용구 84, 요소단용구 81, 무비구 62이었으며 관개수질에 따라 벼의 생산량 차이가 컸다. 벼의 양분흡수량은 3요소구에 비하여 유안과 요소단용구에서 T-N은 86~75, $P_2O_5$는 79~82, $K_2O$는 64~58, $SiO_2$은 94~90%로 흡수량이 유의성 있게 적었다. 토양의 용적밀도는 무비구, 유안단용구, 요소단용구보다 3요소구에서 유의하게 낮아지는 반면, CEC는 증가되었다. 토양의 pH는 시험전(1954) 5.2에 비하여 전 처리구에서 높았으며 무비구는 6.00, 요소단용구 5.93, 3요소구 5.93, 유안단용구 5.40순으로 저하되었다. 토양의 유효인산함량은 인산비료를 매년 $70kg\;ha^{-1}$를 시용하고 벼를 재배할 경우 유효인산의 증가량은 $2.5mg\;kg^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$이었고, 인산비료를 시용하지 않으면 $1.8mg\;kg^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$씩 감소되었다.
