Identification of Impurities in a Sample of Illicitly Synthesized Methamphetamine

  • Analysis of illicit methamphetamine samples seized in Korea is discussed. The samples are extracted with the small portion of ethyl acetate under neutral conditions and the extracts are analyzed by GC-MS. Several impuritiy peaks are found in each chromatrogram. Eight compunds (1,2-Dimethyl-3-phenylaziridine, amphetamine oxime, ephedrine, N-formylmethamphetamine, N-acetylmethamphetamine, acetylephedrine, 3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-2-oxazolidone, methamphetamine dimer) are identified impurities in illicit methamphetamine and the identity of the impurity is conformed synthesis. Prefluorescent-Dye-Induced Fluorescent Imaging based on Polymeric Photobase Generators

  • Copolymers containing oxime-urethane groups, which led to the formation of pendant amino groups photochemically, were applied to a fluorescent image-recording material through the reaction with fluorescamine, a prefluorescent dye for amino groups. This imaging method permits the fluorescent image to be erased or restored by treatment with base or acid. Copolymers containing phthalimide carbamate groups were applied to a bicolor fluorescent imaging material through the consecutive reaction with fluorescamine and rhodamine. A various colored fluorescent micropattern (green, red or red-yellow) was observed through the changes of excitation wavelength by using a conforcal microscope.

  • Various new active ester monomers based on (meth)acrylates and 4-vinylbenzoic acid have been prepared. Investigation of the controlled radical polymerization behavior of the respective monomers resulted in excellent polymerization control, thus, opening synthetic routes to reactive block copolymers. Polymer analogous reactions with amines yielded functional polymers. In the case of the copolymer poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acetone oxime acrylate) a lower critical solution temperature could be measured at $52^{\circ}C$. Thus, the reactive copolymer features two characters: reactive AND stimuliresponsive behavior.

  • Various aldoximes and ketoximes were efficiently reduced to their corresponding amines with $NaBH_3CN$ in the presence of $MoCl_5/NaHSO_4{\cdot}H_2O$ system. Reduction reactions were carried out in refluxing EtOH or DMF within 0.3-3.8 h to afford the amines in high to excellent yields.

  • Solvent-free reduction of various aldoximes and ketoximes to the corresponding amines was performed easily and efficiently with $NaBH_4$ in the presence of $ZrCl_4$ supported on $Al_2O_3$. The reactions were carried out rapidly (within 2 min) at room temperature to afford the amines in high to excellent yields.

  • Twenty novel tetramic acid derivatives (E)-3-(1-(alkyloxyamino)ethylidene)-1-alkylpyrrolidine-2,4-diones were synthesized by the reaction of 3-(1-hydroxyethylidene)pyrrolidine-2,4-diones with O-alkyl hydroxylamines. The title compounds were confirmed by IR, $^1H$ NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The structure of compound 6r was further verified by X-ray diffraction crystallography. The bioassays showed that most of the title compounds exhibited noticeable herbicidal and fungicidal activities.

  • 목적: Aminothiazole-oxime type의 세파로스 포린계 항생제가 개발되어 제3, 4세대 항생제로 쓰이고 있거나 개발중에 있다. 본 저자들은 pseudomonas균에도 항균력이 우수하고 $\beta$-Iactamase에도 안전하며 기존에 보고된 화합물 보다 개선된 약물을 찾으려는 시도에서 본 연구를 실시하였다. 방법: Cephem의 C-7위치에 aminothiazole methoximetype를 도입시키고C-3위치에 약리 활성이 기대되는 5-(aryl or hot.)-4-phony고-3-mercapto-4H-1,2,4-triazole 화합물들을 합성하여 도입시켜 gram(+), gram(-) 및 fungus균에 대하여 항균력을 실험 하였다. 결과: 합성된 복합물들의 항균력 판정은 Pseudomonas균에는 항균력이 대조 물질 보다 떨어졌으나 몇몇균에 대해서는 대조물질과 비슷한 항균력을 나타내었다.

  • cis-and trans-2-butenedialdioximes are synthesized via 2-butenedials, very unstable precursors, and the conformation of the cis-isomer of those compounds is determined by the NMR spectra of 1,4-dideutero-and 1-deutero-cis-2-butenedialdioximes; it is certain that the conformation has an unsymmetrical structure as shown below.

  • Conformation of cis-2-butenedialdioxime, a newly synthesized compound, was assigned by means of nuclearmagnetic resonance, extended Huckel molecular orbital method, and Pople's model of anisotropic effect. It was confirmed that two carbon-carbon single bonds are conrotatorily twisted from the molecular plane of six $sp^2$ orbitals of carbon-carbon double bond. The conformation of minimum energy is found to be twisted by$25^{\circ}C.$

Spectrophotometric Determination of Copper(II) Using Diamine-Dioxime Derivative

  • A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method is herewith proposed for the determination of copper(II) by using diamine-dioxime ligand, meso-3,6,6,9-tetramethyl-4,8-diazaundecane-2,10-dione dioxime or meso-HexaMethyl Propylene Amine Oxime (meso-HMPAO). This method is based on the formation of a stable 1 : 1 red-pink complex between copper(II) and meso-HMPAO in aqueous solution. Absorption measurements were carried at 497 nm, with a molar absorptivity value of 338 L $mol^{-1}\;cm^{-1}$. Beer's law was obeyed over the concentration range of 0.5-370 ${\mu}$g $mL^{-1}$ with a Sandell's sensitivity value of 0.18 ${\mu}$g $cm^{-2}$. The proposed method has been successfully applied for determination of copper(II) in foodstuffs and pharmaceutical samples. The results obtained from this method are comparable with those obtained AAS.
