Recently, the wooden structure has been revived again as an eco-friendly structure technique. It is the counterattack of the wood material, which has become more recognized as a finishing material pushed by the concrete material in the rapid growth after the Industrial Revolution. However, it is difficult to conclude that this is a tendency of the construction market in the whole country. Perhaps this is a tendency to appear more strongly in Korea. It could be seen by comparing the characteristics of the overseas construction market with Korean's and the advanced constructed case of large-scale wooden structures in overseas. National wooden buildings show own characteristics such as construction methods, materials, and member dimensions of wood structures by country, which could be seen as a result of continuously developing their own technology. However, in Korea, despite its unique wooden structure and technology (Hanok; Korean traditional housing), it has not been developed continuously and treated it only as a living building exhibit. This is evidenced by the fact that only one percent of the building is constructed with traditional wooden building technology. Therefore, there are various efforts to modernize the traditional wooden structure technology, but it still does not reach the level of advanced wooden technology abroad. The characteristics of the Korean wooden building market were analyzed in order to suggest ways to develop the Korean wood structure technology. The characteristics of Hanok construction were analyzed through quantitative criteria to define the main development tasks for Hanok development to propose the long-term development path.

일반적으로 국가별 PPP/BOT 사업 정책과 건설 관련 법률체계는 개별 PPP/BOT사업의 사업구도와 사업성에 직접적인 영향을 준다. 2001년 12월 중국의 WTO 가입후 2003년과 2004년도에 공포한 건설관련 법안과 최근 공포된 주요 PPP/BOT 관련 정책 등은 특히 해외 건설투자기업의 개별 사업의 가능성 (Viability)에 직접적 영향을 주는 요인으로 이러한 해외기업의 시장진입을 지배하는 법안과 정책 (Market Access Condition)들로 인해 현재 새로이 중국 시장 진입을 시도하고 국내의 안정적 사업수행 환경에 근거해 개발된 투자지침에 익숙한 국내 기업은 중국내 PPP/BOT 사업 추진시 참여업무 Scope 설정과 투자여부에 대한 의사결정시 내부 공감대 형성에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구는 우선적으로 중국내 시장진입 관련 법, 제도 및 정책이 해외 EPC 기업의 PPP/BOT 사업 수행에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 최종적으로 실제 사례분석을 통해 중국내 PPP/BOT 시장 참여를 위한 Lessons Learned를 도출하는데 주 목적이 있다.

최근 세계 건설시장은 2025년까지 연 평균 4.8%씩 성장할 것으로 예상하고 있으며, 이에 따른 해외건설 리스크도 증가할 것으로 전망하고 있다. 특히, 국내 건설업체들은 EPC(Engineering, Procurement, Construction)/Turnkey 사업에 집중적으로 참여하였지만, 계약적 리스크에 대응하지 못한 결과, 2013년부터 수조원대의 해외사업 손실을 입은 경험이 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 지금까지 EPC/Turnkey의 계약적 핵심 리스크 세부조항 도출에 대한 연구는 많지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국제컨설팅엔지니어링연맹(FIDIC)에서 발행한 2017년 Silver Book 계약조건을 대상으로 핵심 리스크 세부조항을 연구하였다. 이를 위해서 국제건설계약 경험이 10년 이상인 30인의 전문가를 패널로 구성하여 FIDIC Silver Book 21개 조항 170개 세부조항을 델파이 설문조사를 실시하여 62개의 주요 리스크 세부조항을 도출하였다. 또한, 최종적으로 FMEA(Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)기법을 활용하여 RPN(Risk Priority Number)을 산정하였으며, Critical Risk 범위에 속하는 25개의 핵심 리스크 세부조항을 도출하였다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여 실무관점에서는 해외건설사업에서 입찰 및 계약체결 단계에서 주의 깊게 검토해야 할 계약조항들에 대해 참조할 수 있게 해주고, 학문관점에서는 해외건설 EPC/Turnkey 사업에서 사용되는 계약분야에 대해 어떤 방식으로 연구해야 할지의 방향성과 기초적 지식을 제공하고 있다.

345kV youngheung tansmission line which has been constructed in the western sea is the first and the largest marine project in the world crossing the youngheung island and the sihwa bay. It helps the stabilization of power supply greatly to cope with the rapid growth of the electric power consumption in the metropolitan areas and Gyeonggi province. Haying constructed the project successfully with the purely domestic-developed technologies, KEPCO is able to not only accumulate more advanced technologies of the marine project but also establish a bridgehead toward overseas market. It is very meaningful that we completed project successfully in spite of many difficulties including the uncertainty of the first project in the sea and strong objections from the environment groups and local residents. In this paper I will briefly introduce the project, newly developed technologies and materials.

Given the intense competition and slowdown in domestic demands, there is greater pressure on Singapore contractors to seek overseas markets for revenue and growth. This impetus, coupled with emerging economic reforms in the regional developing countries, has invariably created numerous opportunities for Singapore contractors. However, mixed results were reported on their overseas performance so far. Consequently, this paper aims to formulate a framework that would assist Singapore contractors to successfully export their services into developing countries. The proposed framework comprises ten critical success factors (CSFs), which are identified from in-depth interviews with eight Singapore contractors. These ten success factors are subsequently classified under three different stages, namely initial, entry and operational stages. Preliminary results show that Singapore contractors are most focused on the entry stage, with the highest number of CSFs.

Large spatial construction needs to consider various construction management factors through the construction guide, including high-tech roofing works for creating large space without columns and erecting large spatial structure. However, the domestic large spatial construction relies on overseas construction technologies due to the lack of construction guide of large spatial construction and experience in similar type of project. To improve the problem, we deduced principal items of construction management considering characteristics of large spatial construction as a preliminary study for developing a construction guide.

해외병원 프로젝트는 정보통신기술과 첨단의료기기의 발전으로 원격진료, Smart-health, City Like Hospital 개념 확산과 IT 비중이 증가하는 디지털병원으로 변화하는 추세이다. 디지털병원에서 IT역할은 첨단화 되어가는 시공, 기계, 전기, 시스템, 의료장비를 연계하여 통합함으로써 병원운영의 효율성을 극대화 시키는 것이 핵심 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 해외에서 발주되었던 5개의 디지털병원 프로젝트를 대상으로 입찰요구서를 IT 관점에서 분석하고 디지털병원 성공요인을 제안한다. 연구방법은 문헌조사를 통해서 디지털병원 개념과 발전과정을 분석하며, 디지털병원 시스템은 입찰요구서를 분석해서 디지털병원에 적용된 시스템과 기술수준을 분석하고, 최종적으로 디지털병원 성공요인은 프로젝트 성공관리기법에서 제안하는 원가, 공기, 품질 측면에서 분석한다. 연구 성과는 원가측면에서는 IT 및 병원 인프라 운영관점에서 가치를 증대하는 가치공학(Value Engineering) 전략 수립이 필요하고, 공기측면에서는 병원 내 시스템을 통합 테스트하는 Integrated Test & Commissioning 단계에서의 공사기간 준수가 필요하며, 품질측면에서는 사용자 요구사항이 반영된 System Integration을 통해 디지털병원이 지향하는 서비스 성능을 보장하는 것이 디지털병원 수출사업의 성공요인이라고 제시한다.

Power generation construction projects involving large amounts of capital can affect the survival of a company along with huge economic losses in the event of a business failure. In general, private companies are organizations with challenging risk taking tendencies while public companies have a risk averse tendency to avoid risk, so these differences in organizational tendencies make it difficult to respond to risk. In particular, public companies are more likely to fail than private companies because they choose the contradiction of risk picking to enter overseas markets with high uncertainty despite their tendency to risk averse due to the nature of the organization. Therefore, these organizations need risk management techniques that reflect a risk-averse strategy. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the risk management research papers of the existing overseas development EPC business in order to find the risk management techniques related to the organizational tendencies of public companies and proposes "establishing a performance audit system for risk management of the organizational tendencies of public companies" as a way to extract the risk factors through the examples of overseas development projects of public companies and to manage the organizational tendencies of public companies that affect them.

The structure of construction management service in the Construction Technology Management Act has changed recently. The new Construction Technology Promotion Act becomes effective to support and promote the development of related construction industries and construction technology for domestic and overseas markets. The purpose of research is to analyze the main contents of Construction Technology Promotion Act and to investigate corporate status, problems, and issues. The research is conducted to improve as reorganization of the CM service system based on the interviews with experts. Accordingly the research is to derive countermeasures of CM enterprises. The research results are presented in the following categories of contract awarding, project management, human resource management, general administration and staff education management as countermeasures of enterprises.

SWOT model was used to develop strategies for the Korean construction firms in entering the global construction market. Literature review, official statistics survey and other research methods were utilized in order to extract internal and external environmental factors of both the firm and local area. By extracting strength, weakness, opportunity and threat factors, a total of 12 strategies were produced: SO (Strengths-Opportunities), ST (Strengths-Threats), WT (Weaknesses-Threats), and WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities). The result of the study can be utilized as a basic data in developing a strategy for the Korean construction firms to penetrate into the global construction market.
