Development of the Embedded System-based Real-time Internal Status Identification System for Overhead Bin (임베디드 시스템 기반 오버헤드 빈 내부 상황 실시간 식별 시스템 개발)

  • Internal storage state, weight data, and weight-centered calculation values for overhead bin can all be seen in this paper's real-time internal status identification system. The suggested system offers such valuable data via a range of sensors, including load cells and switch arrays. The proposed system could locate internal free space, locate the center of gravity, and give real-time visual information. It was developed utilizing an embedded system and the C programming language. These features led to the creation of smart overhead bins and real-time cargo loading monitoring technologies, both of which could one day aid in the creation of a cargo loading automation system.

  • The session management overhead on the network systems like firewalls or intrusion detection systems is getting grown as the session table is glowing. In this paper. we propose the event-based timeout management policy to increase packet processing throughput on network systems by decreasing the system's timeout management overhead that is comparable to the existing time-based timeout management policies. Through some empirical studies using a session management system implemented in this paper we probed that the proposed policy provides better packet processing throughput than the existing policies.

  • In order to make load balancing, workload information of nodes should be informed to the network. In a load balancing algorithm[13] based on the SBIBD(Symmetric Balanced Incomplete Block Design), each node receives global workload information by only two round message exchange with O (${\upsilon}{\sqrt{\upsilon}}$) traffic overhead, where ${\upsilon}$ is the number of nodes. It is very efficient but works well only when ${\upsilon}=p^2+p+1$ for a prime number p. In this paper, we generate a special incidence structure in order for the algorithm works well for an arbitrary number of nodes. In the experiment with w,($5{\leq}w{\leq}5,000$), nodes and more than 80% of receiving workload information, traffic overhead was less than O ($w{\sqrt{w}})$ and the result for standard deviation of traffic overhead showed that each node has largely balanced amount of traffic overhead.

  • 우수한 용접부 품질 때문에 TIG를 이용한 오비탈 용접은 파이프 용접에 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만 루트갭이 없고 루트페이스가 큰 맞대기 오비탈 용접의 위보기 및 경사상진자세에서는 오목한 이면비드가 형성되기 쉽지만, 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위한 연구는 희박한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 위보기 및 경사상진자세에서 볼록한 이면비드의 형성을 연구하기위해서 용융지의 제어 방법을 적극적으로 검토하였다. 4mm 두께의 SS400 시편을 위보기 및 경사상진자세에서 각각 Bead-on-plate 용접하고, 이 때 비드성형기의 사용에 따른 비드 형상 변화를 관찰하였다. 텅스텐 전극과 비드 성형기간의 거리(Tip To Former Distance, 이하 TTFD)를 4.5mm에서 7.5mm로 1mm단위로 변경시켜 실험하였으며, TTFD가 증가할수록 위보기 및 경사상진자세에서 이면비드 높이가 감소하였으며 표면비드의 처짐이 증가하였다.

Restricted Multi-hop Information Lookahead Scheme for Real-Time Data Dissemination in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 망에서 실시간 데이터 전송을 위한 제한적 멀티-홉 정보 예측 기법)

  • In wireless sensor networks, real-time data delivery schemes typically achieve a desired delivery speed by performing one-hop lookahead. Recently, to reduce the deadline miss ratio against the desired delivery speed, a study has proposed a real-time routing protocol based on proactively performing two-hop lookahead. However, the study might cause heavy message exchange overhead and high computing complexity to carry out obtainment of two-hop neighborhood speed information in the entire sensor nodes whether data are delivered or not. Moreover, although multi-hop lookahead provides the least deadline miss ratio, due to the restriction from the overhead and the complexity, the recent study merely adopts the two-hop lookahead manner. In this paper, we propose a novel real-time routing protocol that adopts on-demand neighborhood multi-hop information obtainments only around data forwarding paths. Simulation results prove that the proposed routing protocol offers better performances with respect to deadline miss ratio, total communication costs, energy efficiency, and network lifetime.

  • With group mobility, minimizing routing overhead among intra-group nodes can be achieved by making longer the routing update period, which may lead to degradation of inter-group's routing performance and consequently the inter-group packet delivery success ratio will be decreased. To reduce the inter-group routing overhead without lowering the inter-group packet delivery success ratio, a mobility-adaptive routing update(MARU) scheme is proposed in this paper. Main idea of the proposed scheme is group-based mobility prediction and updating routing paths by selecting intermediate common relay groups.

  • 종래의 위보기 자세에서 용접은 중력이 모재의 표면으로 향하고 있어 용융금속이 중력에 의해 표면방향으로 흘러내리게 되어 용접 실시가 불가능하였다. 이에 Shield Gas Force, Trailing Gas Force 그리고 Ahead Gas Force를 적절히 적용하여 Position Welding에서 중력으로 인해 Molten Metal이 처지는 문제를 극복하여 생산성 향상으로 연결할 수 있음을 선행 실험을 통해 확인하였으나 기존의 C(Convergent)형, CP(Convergent Divergent)형 및 P(Parrallel)형 가스 노즐은 용접조건에 따라 실드 가스의 소모량이 많고, 토출되는 실드가스력이 부족하여 용접시 볼록한 이면 비드 형성을 위한 용융 풀을 효과적으로 제어 할 수 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 동일량의 실드 가스 공급시 가스 노즐을 통해 토출되는 실드가스의 소모를 줄이고 실드가스력을 극대화하여 저가의 고생산성을 가진 친 환경 용접기술(Green welding)에 부합하는 CDP(Convergent Divergent Parrallel)형 가스 노즐을 제작하여 기존의 CP형 가스 노즐과 비교 분석하였다. 또한 Overhead Position에서의 비드형상제어와 Flat Position에서 방풍효과를 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 CDP Nozzle은 CP Nozzle보다 동일한 유량에서 풍속은 3.5배, 냉각능력은 1.5배, 가스압력은 6.25배로 우수한 성능을 확인할 수 있었고, Overhead Position에서 가스 유량을 동일하게 하여 용접하였을 때 CP Nozzle의 경우 오목한 이면비드가 나타났지만 CDP Nozzle의 경우 볼록하게 양호한 이면비드 형상이 나타났고, Flat Position에서의 방풍효과 비교실험에서 CDP Nozzle에서는 깊고 균일한 용입을 CP Nozzle에서는 불안정한 용입이 나타났는데 이는 CDP Nozzle의 경우 풍속에 의한 Arc Blow가 적게 발생하여 상대적으로 더 나은 용입을 확인하였다.

Two Level Bin-Packing Algorithm for Data Allocation on Multiple Broadcast Channels (다중 방송 채널에 데이터 할당을 위한 두 단계 저장소-적재 알고리즘)

  • In data broadcasting systems, servers continuously disseminate data items through broadcast channels, and mobile client only needs to wait for the data of interest to present on a broadcast channel. However, because broadcast channels are shared by a large set of data items, the expected delay of receiving a desired data item may increase. This paper explores the issue of designing proper data allocation on multiple broadcast channels to minimize the average expected delay time of all data items, and proposes a new data allocation scheme named two level bin-packing(TLBP). This paper first introduces the theoretical lower-bound of the average expected delay, and determines the bin capacity based on this value. TLBP partitions all data items into a number of groups using bin-packing algorithm and allocates each group of data items on an individual channel. By employing bin-packing algorithm in two step, TLBP can reflect a variation of access probabilities among data items allocated on the same channel to the broadcast schedule, and thus enhance the performance. Simulation is performed to compare the performance of TLBP with three existing approaches. The simulation results show that TLBP outperforms others in terms of the average expected delay time at a reasonable execution overhead.

Research of Short Preamble MAC Protocol for Energy Efficient in Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서의 에너지 효율을 위한 짧은 프리앰블을 가지는 MAC프로토콜에 대한 연구)

  • Idle listening is very critical source of energy dissipation in wireless sensor networks. To reduce idle listening, we propose preamble sampling MAC that is named EESP-MAC. The main idea of EESP-MAC is to add control information into the short preamble frame. So the stream of short preambles is used not only for preamble sampling but also for avoiding overhearing, decreasing control packet overhead and reducing the listening of the redundant message, caused by message-flooding.

A review of the train position detection method for neutral section with energized condition (무절연구간을 위한 열차위치검지방식 검토)

  • The high speed line and conventional line are a single-phase AC feeding system; and power supplies of different phases meet at SS(SubStation)s or SP(Sectioning Post)s. These sections should be negotiated with the main circuit breaker in the traction vehicle switched off, whereby the length of the neutral zone prevents the pantographs shunting adjacent overhead line section. In order for electric railway vehicles to make power running there, there must be a power supply changeover section (approx. for 1km), where a changeover switch changes a power supply to the other power supply of a train running direction sequentially. For a thorough changeover switching control, the precise train position detection is necessarily required. In this paper, to realize the ground-based train position detection method, configuration scheme of train position detection equipment is suggested by using track circuit and axle counter.
