열매체 순환수 배관이 매설된 콘크리트 도로 포장체의 표면 온도 변화와 방열량 평가 (Evaluation of Surface Temperature Variation and Heat Exchange Rate of Concrete Road Pavement with Buried Circulating Water Piping)

  • Hydronic heated road pavement (HHP) systems have been well established and documented to provide road safety in winter season over the past two decades. However, most of the systems run on asphalt, only a few are tested with concrete, and there rarely is a comparison between those two common road materials in their performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal performance of the concrete HHP systems, including surface temperature variations of experimental pavements in winter season. For preliminary study a small-scale experimental system was installed to evaluate the heat transfer characteristics of the concrete HHP in the test field. The system consists of 3 concrete slabs made of 1 m in width, 1 m in length, and 0.25 m in height. In these slabs, circulating water piping was embedded with different pipe depths of 0.08 m (Case A), 0.12 m (Case B), and 0.20 m (Case C) and same horizontal space of 0.16 m. Heating performance in winter season was tested with different inlet temperatures of 25℃, 30℃, 35℃ and 40℃ during the entire measurement period. Overall, the surface temperature of the concrete HHPs remained above 3℃ in all experimental conditions applied in this study. The results of the surface temperature measurement with respect to the pipe depth showed that Case B was the highest among the three cases. However, the closer the circulating water pipe was to the pavement surface, the greater the heat exchange rate. This results is considered that the heat is continuously accumulated inside the pavements and then the temperature inside the pavements increases, while the amount of heat dissipation decreases as the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of circulating water decreases. In this preliminary test the applicability of the concrete HHP on road deicing was confirmed. Finally, the results can be used as a basis for studying the effects of various variables on road pavements through numerical analysis and for conducting large-scale empirical experiments.

  • 본 논문은 EEV를 이용한 냉각시스템의 성능특성에 관한 논문이다. 산업용냉각기는 고속으로 운전하는 공작기기의 열 변형을 줄이기 위해 사용되었으며, EEV는 냉각기의 용량조절을 위해 사용되었다. 본 장치는 압축기 출구에서 나온 핫가스를 증발기 입구로 보내는 핫가스 바이패스 시스템을 위해 설계되었다. 본 실험은 PID제어를 통한 고정도 온도제어 연구의 중간결과물이다. 실험의 결과로 핫가스 바이패스의 EEV스텝 조절을 통하여 증발압력의 상승과 냉동능력의 감소를 알 수 있었다. 본 실험의 결과를 통하여 효율적인 냉각기의 설계에 있어 기초 자료로 이용할 예정이다.

Study on Cooling Characteristics of the Tunnel Type Pressure Pre-Cooling System

  • An understanding of the cooling requirements of horticultural commodities begins with adequate knowledge of their biological responses. All fresh horticultural products are living organisms, carrying on the many biological processes that are essential to the maintenance of life. The pre-cooling is essential technique for the construction of cold chain system, which is necessary to maintain marketing quality of fresh produces during the transportation and distribution. The purpose of this study is to develop the pressure cooling tunnel using conveyer for the reduction of labor and improvement of pre-cooling efficiency. Performance of developed facility was tested for the strawberries, tomatoes and Chinese cabbages. Cooling ratio as a result of pre-cooling efficiency was 1.57, 1.56 and 1.32 for strawberries, tomatoes, and Chinese cabbages respectively. Cooling ratio decreased with increasing the distance of heat conduction from surface to center. The cooling ratio of Chinese cabbages was lower than that of fruit because of its head and leaf. In aspect of cooling uniformity, there was no significant difference of final temperature among inlet, outlet and middle layers of cold air in fresh produces. After pre-cooling treatment, quality changes were measured for the weight loss, Vit. C content, and titratable acidity. The quality of pre-cooling treatment was better than that of non-treatment and was kept on well during long-term storage.

원자력발전소의 다중 구획에서 화재특성 예측을 위한 FDS 검증 (Part I: 과환기화재 조건) (Validation of FDS for Predicting the Fire Characteristics in the Multi-Compartments of Nuclear Power Plant (Part I: Over-ventilated Fire Condition))

  • 원자력발전소의 강제 환기가 적용된 밀폐된 다중구획에서 실규모 pool 화재를 모사하기 위하여 FDS가 적용되었다. FDS의예측성능은 수치결과와 OECD/NEA 화재실증실험 국제공동연구 프로젝트(PRISME)를통해 얻어진 실험결과의비교를 통해 평가되었다. 단순한 연소모델의 적용으로 발생되는 FDS의 본질적인 한계를 제외하고 FDS 수행과정에서 발생된 사용자 의존성에 따른 FDS의 예측결과 차이를 명확히 확인하기 위하여, 과환기 화재조건이 본 연구에서 검토되었다. 특히 강제 환기시스템에서 정확한 경계조건의 중요성이 상세하게 논의되었다. 급기 및 배기를 위한 환기구의 경계조건은 구획 내부의 열 및 화학적특성에 큰 영향을 주고 있음을 FDS 결과를 통해 알 수 있었으며, 정확한 경계조건이 부여된 FDS는 원전 타입의 다중 구획 내부의 온도, 열유속 및 화학종 농도를 정량적으로 잘 예측하고 있음을 확인하였다.

RFID 이용 돈사 출입 자동관리 시스템 개발 (Developement of a RFID Enterance Control System for Biosecurity of Pig Farm)

  • 정부의 축산업 및 축산차량 등록제 실시로 인하여, 양돈농가에서는 의무적으로 출입구에 차단장치를 설치하여야 하며 출입기록을 관리하여야 한다. 또한, 양돈장의 생물보안을 위해서도 출입인원과 차량, 동물 등의 양돈장 출입과 소독기록 등을 관리하여야한다. 본 연구에서는, RFID와 웹서버 시스템을 이용한 양돈장 출입차단 및 기록장치를 개발하였다. 사람의 출입관리를 위하여 13.56MHz의 접촉식 RFID 시스템을 개발하였으며, 차량 출입관리를 위해서는 900MHz RFID 시스템을 이용한 차량인식 시스템을 개발하였다. 시험결과 시스템 작동, 인식, 웹서버 데이터 저장 등의 성능이 양호한 것으로 판단되었다. 이후, 차량 출입시스템과 사람 출입 및 소독기록장치를 연동하여 시험을 실시하였으며, 기록된 데이터는 전용 프로그램을 이용하여 웹서버의 DB에 저장하였다. 성능시험결과, 출입관리와 데이터관리에 문제가 없는 것으로 판단되었다.

자외선램프을 이용한 유수처리장치 설계 시뮬레이션 (Simulation Method for the Flowing Water Purification with UV Lamp)

  • 자외선 살균기술을 바탕으로 한 수처리 분야에 대한 관심이 최근 증가하고 있다. 수처리분야에서 살균처리방식의 효율은 유체 살균챔버나 살균강도 그리고 미생물의 불활성역학에 따라 수처리 성능이 결정된다. 광산화법에 이용되는 빛은 주로 자외선이 이용되며 매우 깨끗하고 높은 에너지를 가지고 있어 화학살균방법에 비해 잔류물이 없고 높은 안정성으로 최근 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러나 자외선살균방식은 조사시간과 조사량에 직접적인 영향을 받아 이를 위한 최적의 설계가 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유수살균장치의 챔버 내의 자외선 램프와 유수에 대한 3D-CFD discrete ordinates model 모델을 제시하고 이를 시뮬레이션을 통해 설계방식의 최적화 여부를 검증하고 향후 유수형 자외선살균방식의 시뮬레이션방법을 제안하고자 한다.

Counter-Rotating Type Pumping Unit (Impeller Speeds in Smart Control)

  • Turbo-pumps have weak points, such as the pumping operation is unstable on the positive slope of the head curve and/or the cavitation occurs at the low suction head. To improve simultaneously both weak points, the first author invented the unique pumping unit composed of the tandem impellers and the peculiar motor with the double rotational armatures. The front and the rear impellers are driven by the inner and the outer armatures of the motor, respectively. Both impeller speeds are automatically and smartly adjusted in response to the pumping discharge, while the rotational torques between both impellers/armatures are counter-balanced. Such speeds contribute to suppress successfully not only the unstable operation at the low discharge but also the cavitation at the high discharge, as verified with the axial flow type pumping unit in the previous paper. Continuously, this paper investigates experimentally the effects of the tandem impeller profiles on the pump performances and the rotational speeds against the discharge, using the impellers whose loads are low and/or high at the normal discharge. The worthy remarks are that (a) the unstable operation is suppressed as expected and the shut off power is scarcely large in the smart control, (b) the blade profile contributes to determine the discharge giving the maximum/minimum rotational speed where the reverse flow may incipiently appears at the front impeller inlet, (c) the tandem impeller profiles scarcely affect the rotational speeds, while the loads of the front and the rear impellers are same, but (d) the impeller with the low load must run faster and the impeller with the high load must run slower at the same discharge to take the same rotational torque, and (e) the reverse flow at the inlet and the swirling velocity component at the outlet of the front impeller with the high load require making the rotational speed of the rear impeller with low load fairly faster at the lower discharge.

The Effect of Different Inflows on the Unsteady Hydrodynamic Characteristics of a Mixed Flow Pump

  • The problem of non-uniform inflow exists in many practical engineering applications, such as the elbow suction pipe of waterjet pump and, the channel head of steam generator which is directly connect with reactor coolant pump. Generally, pumps are identical designs and are selected based on performance under uniform inflow with the straight pipe, but actually non-uniform suction flow is induced by upstream equipment. In this paper, CFD approach was employed to analyze unsteady hydrodynamic characteristics of reactor coolant pumps with different inflows. The Reynolds-averaged Naiver-Stokes equations with the $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model were solved by the computational fluid dynamics software CFX to conduct the steady and unsteady numerical simulation. The numerical results of the straight pipe and channel head were validated with experimental data for the heads at different flow coefficients. In the nominal flow rate, the head of the pump with the channel head decreases by 1.19% when compared to the straight pipe. The complicated structure of channel head induces the inlet flow non-uniform. The non-uniformity of the inflow induces the difference of vorticity distribution at the outlet of the pump. The variation law of blade to blade velocity at different flow rate and the difference of blade to blade velocity with different inflow are researched. The effects of non-uniform inflow on radial forces are absolutely different from the uniform inflow. For the radial forces at the frequency $f_R$, the corresponding amplitude of channel head are higher than the straight pipe at $1.0{\Phi}_d$ and $1.2{\Phi}_d$ flow rates, and the corresponding amplitude of channel head are lower than the straight pipe at $0.8{\Phi}_d$ flow rates.

선박 전원용 고체산화물형 연료전지(SOFC) 시스템의 스택 공급 가스의 열관리 문제에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thermal Management of Stack Supply Gas of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell System for Ship Applications)

  • 본 연구에서는 선박 전원용 SOFC 시스템에 대한 HIL(Hardware-In-the-Loop)을 구축하기 위하여 실시간 코드 생성이 가능한 연료전지 시스템 모델을 개발을 하였다. 또한, 메탄을 연료로 사용한 내부개질형 500kW급 고체산화물형 연료전지 시스템에서 연료전지 스택으로 공급되는 애노드와 캐소드 공급가스의 온도 차이를 최소화하기 위하여 연료전지 스택 배기가스의 유량 분배, 연료 및 공기 공급 유량, 공급 공기 온도의 영향이 애노드 및 캐소드 공급 가스의 온도 특성과 연료전지 스택 출력 및 시스템 효율 등에 미치는 영향에 관하여 검토하였다. 그 결과 터빈 출구에 위치한 3-Way 밸브의 위치가 0.839에서 애노드와 캐소드 공급 가스 온도가 약 830K에서 동일하게 유지됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 애노드와 캐소드 공급 가스 온도를 높이기 위해서는 연료전지 스택 및 시스템 효율을 충분히 고려하여 메탄 공급 유량을 최적화하는 프로세스가 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

실험계획법을 이용한 고효율 소형 열병합 시스템 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of High Efficiency Co-generation System Using the Experimental Design Method)

  • As a kind of distributed energy system, the co-generation system based Diesel engine using after-treatment device was devised for its environmental friendly and economic qualities. It is utilized in that the electric power is produced by the generator connected to the Diesel engine, and waste heat is recovered from both the exhaust gases and the engine itself by the finned tube and shell & tube heat exchangers. An after-treatment device composed ceramic heater and DOC(Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) is installed at the engine outlet in order to completely reignite the unburned fuel from the Diesel engine. In this study, mutual relation of each experimental condition was derived through minimum number of experiment using Taguchi Design and ANOVA recently used in the various fields. It is found that the total efficiency (thermal efficiency plus electric power generation efficiency) of this system reaches maximum 94.4% which is approximately higher than that of the typical diesel engine exhaust heat recovery system.
