Optimum Working Condition of Side Wall End Milling Using Response Surface Methodology (측벽 엔드밀 가공 시 반응표면법을 이용한 최적 가공조건)

  • Working condition is one of the most important factors in precision working. In this study, we optimized the vibration acceleration of working progress direction using RSM(response surface methodology) by table of orthogonal array. RSM was well adapted to make analytic model for minimizing vibration acceleration, created the objective function and saved a great deal of computational time. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed optimization procedure using RSM can be easily utilized to solve the optimization problem of working condition. The experimental results of the surface roughness and vibration acceleration showed the validity of the proposed working condition of side wall end-milling as it can be observed.

Physical Property Analysis by Table of Orthogonal Arrays of Three-level on the Cotton Fabrics Treated with Formaldehyde and Urea (포름알데히드와 우레아로 처리한 면직물의 3수준 직교배열표에 의한 성능 분석)

  • The cotton fabrics were treated with formaldehyde in the presence of zinc nitrate catalyst and urea. The effects of HCHO concentration, urea concentration, catalyst ratio, cure time and cure temperature on the physical properties of fabrics were studied. Cotton fabric finished with HCHO and urea had the lower tensile strength and tear strength than untreated one. These strength losses resulted from tighter oxymethylene crosslinks. The enhanced wrinkle recovery for fabric treated with formaldehyde in the presence of urea was indicative of the formation of urea-formaldehyde polymer. These experimental conditions were set up according to table of orthogonal arrays.

  • On this study, we optimized minimizing the characteristic function for mixed result of the structural contact analysis and the buckling analysis according to the pin jig initial model's level change using mixed the table of orthogonal away and ANOM, Pin jig's weight is reduced up to 20 percent considering constraint conditions. Also we optimized reducing 20 percent weight of pin jig model using topology optimization.

  • In this paper, a control algorthm suitable for multi-objective control is proposed based on the orthogonal array which is normally used in statics and industrial engineering. And a newly defined Nthcertainty factor is suggested, which can effectively exclude the less confident rule. The Nth-certainty factor is defined by the F-values of the ANOVA(analysis of variance) table. It is shown that the algorithm can be successfully adopted to the design of controller for an active magnetic bearing system.

  • In this paper, orthogonal block designs for partial diallel crosses are proposed. These partial diallel crosses block designs for estimating general combining abilities are constructed by using $\alpha$-resolvable partially balanced incomplete block designs. Also, the efficiencies of the partial diallel crosses block designs obtained through this method are reported in table.

Fingerprint region and table segmentation in fingerprint document (지문원지의 영역분할 및 도표 인식)

  • In this paper, a method for extracting the fingerprint regions and the table from fingerprint document which is the size of A4 including ten fingerprints images in a table is presented. The extraction of each fingerprint region is carried out by segmenting the foreground fingerprint region using a block filtering method and detecting its center point. The table extraction, by detecting a horizontal line using line tracing, and detecting a vertical line by its orthogonal equation. Here, T-shaped mask is proposed for finding the starting points of the vertical line intersecting horizontal line by the form of 'T'. Experimental results show above 95% correct rate of extracting the fingerprint region and table.

  • This paper presents the seismic responses of a 1:5-scale five-story reinforced concrete building model, which represents a residential apartment building that has a high irregularity of weak story, soft story, and torsion simultaneously at the ground story. The model was subjected to a series of uni- and bi-directional earthquake simulation tests. Analysis of the test results leads to the following conclusions: (1) The model survived the table excitations simulating the design earthquake with the PGA of 0.187 g without any significant damages, though it was not designed against earthquakes; (2) The fundamental mode was the torsion mode. The second and third orthogonal translational modes acted independently while the torsion mode showed a strong correlation with the predominant translational mode; (3) After a significant excursion into inelastic behavior, this correlation disappeared and the maximum torsion and torsion deformation remained almost constant regardless of the intensity of the two orthogonal excitations; And, (4) the lateral resistance and stiffness of the critical columns and wall increased or decreased significantly with the large variation of acting axial forces caused by the high bi-directional overturning moments and rocking phenomena under the bi-directional excitations.

  • Statistical optimum methodology of table of orthogonal array, ANOM, ANOVA and RSM are applied to formulate optimum allocation design with design variables. It can be minimized average SPL of control volume, the objective function in closed system by optimal allocated positions of absorbing material. Structural natural frequency and acoustic natural frequency of cavity are analyzed by FEM and BEM in the closed system. Using BEM, average SPL of specific control volume is calculated according to the condition before using absorbing material and after using it. It is shown that noise is reduced by $5.02dB_{RMS}$ by absorbing material located at optimal position and minimum $1.83dB_{RMS}$ and maximum $3.47dB_{RMS}$ by the table of orthogonal array.

Study on the Contribution Ratio of Factors to Affect Regeneration Performance of a Solar Air Conditioning System (태양열 이용 냉난방 공조시스템의 재생성능에 영향을 미치는 인자의 기여율에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to find out how much experimental factors influence on regeneration performance in a solar air conditioning system. The experimental apparatus was set up in a climate-controlled chamber where temperature and humidity could be kept constant. In order. to investigate factors' influence on the regeneration performance of the solar air conditioning system, the model experiment was done using the 600mm $\times$ 600mm black painted aluminum regenerator. The design and analysis of experiment were done by the design of experiments, especially the table of orthogonal arrays. In order to find out how much experimental factors influence on regeneration performance, the table of orthogonal arrays $L_8(2^7)$ was used. According to the results, it was found that the most influential factor to affect regeneration performance was the concentration of LiCl solution. The next influential factors were a solar radiation, an air velocity, and the temperature of LiCl solution in order.
