Consideration of the Comparing the Original Texts with Quotations in Edema Chapter of Dong-Yi-Bo-Gam (동의보감 부종편의 원문과 인용문헌에 대한 비교고찰)

  • We studied on the purpose of comparing the original texts with quotations in edema chapter of Dong- Yi-Bo-Gam. The research mainly depended on compare and consider these original text and quote. In Pyong Yeol Byong chapter of SoMoon, Su Yeol Hyul chapter of SoMoon, Pyong Yin Ki Sang chapter of SoMoon, Ja Jeol Jin Sae chapter of YoungChu, Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine(黃帝內經;ECIM), We were able to find that some sentences about edema were quoted. Drug arrangement order that construct herb medicine is disposed depends on drug's weight, and all unit was concorded by Jeon and Pun. Quoted words in Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine(黃帝內經;ECIM) does not perfectly match with original text. However, edema chapter of Dong- Yi-Bo-Gam is identical with original text, because only few words were deleted or inserted.

Robust Watermarking for Digital Images in Geometric Distortions Using FP-ICA of Secant Method (할선법의 FP-ICA를 이용한 기하학적 변형에 강건한 디지털영상 워터마킹)

  • This paper proposes a digital image watermarking which is robust to geometric distortions using an independent component analysis(ICA) of fixed-point(FP) algorithm based on secant method. The FP algorithm of secant method is applied for better performance in a separation time and rate, and ICA is applied to reject the prior knowledges for original image, key, and watermark such as locations and size, etc. The proposed method embeds the watermark into the spatial domain of original image The proposed watermarking technique has been applied to lena, key, and two watermarks(text and Gaussian noise) respectively. The simulation results show that the proposed method has higher speed and better rate for extracting the original images than the FP algorithm of Newton method. And the proposed method has a watermarking which is robust to geometric distortions such as resizing, rotation, and cropping. Especially, the watermark of images with Gaussian noise has better extraction performance than the watermark with text since Gaussian noise has lower correlation coefficient than the text to the original and key images. The watermarking of ICA doesn't require the prior knowledge for the original images.

Incorporating BERT-based NLP and Transformer for An Ensemble Model and its Application to Personal Credit Prediction

  • Tree-based algorithms have been the dominant methods used build a prediction model for tabular data. This also includes personal credit data. However, they are limited to compatibility with categorical and numerical data only, and also do not capture information of the relationship between other features. In this work, we proposed an ensemble model using the Transformer architecture that includes text features and harness the self-attention mechanism to tackle the feature relationships limitation. We describe a text formatter module, that converts the original tabular data into sentence data that is fed into FinBERT along with other text features. Furthermore, we employed FT-Transformer that train with the original tabular data. We evaluate this multi-modal approach with two popular tree-based algorithms known as, Random Forest and Extreme Gradient Boosting, XGBoost and TabTransformer. Our proposed method shows superior Default Recall, F1 score and AUC results across two public data sets. Our results are significant for financial institutions to reduce the risk of financial loss regarding defaulters.

  • Recently Orientalism becomes the center of public interest. So many books related to Cheon Pu Kyung(천부경) are published in Korea. But the present writer thinks that such literature doesn#t communicate us, as it is, the original meaning of Cheon Pu Kyung. Most specialists concentrate on not so much the original text interpretation as annotation in reference to Cheon Pu Kyung. If so, it is difficult for us to find out precisely the real intention of it. Consequently the present writer in the interpretation of Cheon Pu Kyung makes plans to carry out the real intention interpretation and annotation based on Cheon Pu Kyung interpretation of Seok-Kok(석곡) Lee, Kyu-Jun(이규준). Together, the contents on which this article is based on were investigated as follows: 1. words go into 2. the limit of the original text interpretation 3. why does it need the real intention interpretation of Cheon Pu Kyung 4. the interpretative limit of Cheon Pu Kyung literature 5.   • Text augmentation is a methodology that creates new augmented texts by transforming or generating original texts for the purpose of improving the performance of NLP models. However existing text augmentation techniques have limitations such as lack of expressive diversity semantic distortion and limited number of augmented texts. Recently text augmentation using large language models and few-shot learning can overcome these limitations but there is also a risk of noise generation due to incorrect generation. In this paper, we propose a text augmentation method called TAGS that generates multiple candidate texts and selects the appropriate text as the augmented text. TAGS generates various expressions using few-shot learning while effectively selecting suitable data even with a small amount of original text by using contrastive learning and similarity comparison. We applied this method to task-oriented chatbot data and achieved more than sixty times quantitative improvement. We also analyzed the generated texts to confirm that they produced semantically and expressively diverse texts compared to the original texts. Moreover, we trained and evaluated a classification model using the augmented texts and showed that it improved the performance by more than 0.1915, confirming that it helps to improve the actual model performance.

Skewed Angle Detection in Text Images Using Orthogonal Angle View

  • In this paper we propose skewed angle detection methods for images that contain text that is not aligned horizontally. In most images text areas are aligned along the horizontal axis, however there are many occasions when the text may be at a skewed angle (denoted by 0 < ${\theta}\;{\leq}\;{\pi}$). In the work described, we adapt the Hough transform, Shadow and Threshold Projection methods to detect the skewed angle of text in an input image using the orthogonal angle view property. The results of this method are a primary text skewed angle, which allows us to rotate the original input image into an image with horizontally aligned text. This utilizes document image processing prior to the recognition stage.

Effects of Excellent or Bad Handwriting on the Writing Assessment (쓰기검사에서 글씨체가 평가결과에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of handwriting on the writing assessment, according to whether the handwriting is excellent or bad. Methods: A total of 24 elementary and middle school teachers participated in this study and assessed 6 original writings and 6 transcriptions of the same original writings using the HWP 2007 program. Six writings were collected from elementary students of 4th to 6th grades, 3 of 6 students presented with excellent handwriting and 3 of 6 with bad handwriting. The assessments were done according to the standards of propositional knowledge assessment (You & Jeong, 2008). Results: In the excellent handwritings, the rules of orthography and the contents of introduction of the original writings were scored higher than those in the transcriptions. The difference between transcription and original writing showed minus scores in original writing assessments and plus scores in transcription assessments. In the propositional knowledge score and its subscales scores - content knowledge, text knowledge, language knowledge and text context knowledge -, were differences in transcription assessments significantly higher than those in original writing assessments. Several assessment indices - clarity of the ending, contents of introduction, appropriate contents, rules of orthography, structured composition and various vocabularies showed significantly higher differences in transcription assessments than those in original writing assessments. Conclusions: The excellent handwriting could be assessed high and the bad handwriting could be assessed low. These results suggest that we should consider the effects of handwriting factors on the results of writing assessment and that the transcription could be used for an accurate writing assessment.

  • $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui醫方類聚$\lrcorner$ (1445) is regarded as a treasure-house of the knowledge of traditional oriental medicine which contains over 50,000 prescriptions and enormerous amount of medical information. Despite the importance and information contained in this book, it has been rarely used since it was not convenient to use this book. In this study, therefore, the establishment of database on $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ was carried out. Before the database establishment of $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ , basic works such as correction, interpretation, proofreading and translation of original text should be done. The results obtained in this study are summaried as follows : 1) During the course of studying the original text of $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ , the editing process and transmission of medical books in early Chosun dynasty was figured out. 2) For better correction, interpretation, proofreading and translation of $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ , $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ microfilms which are the collection of Japanese Royal Library (宮內廳 圖書寮) were obtained in this study. Through this process, the errors in the republication were able to be corrected. 3) Analyzing the organization and compilatory method of $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ is one of the basic requirements of understanding the scale of the whole. book and establishing database as a result. So the analysis results were used for the basic structuring of database. 4) $\ulcorner$Euibangyoochui$\lrcorner$ CD- ROM was designed in a way that the images of microfilms, original text and Korean translation can be compared by 3-D device. In addition, the convenience and proficiency of imaging the information and prescriptions of the text is one of the remarkable features of this CD-ROM.

An Effective Method for Replacing Caption in Video Images (비디오 자막 문자의 효과적인 교환 방법)

  • Caption texts frequently inserted in a manufactured video image for helping an understanding of the TV audience. In the movies. replacement of the caption texts can be achieved without any loss of an original image, because the caption texts have their own track in the films. To replace the caption texts in early methods. the new texts have been inserted the caption area in the video images, which is filled a certain color for removing established caption texts. However, the use of these methods could be lost the original images in the caption area, so it is a Problematic method to the TV audience. In this Paper, we propose a new method for replacing the caption text after recovering original image in the caption area. In the experiments. the results in the complex images show some distortion after recovering original images, but most results show a good caption text with the recovered image. As such, this new method is effectively demonstrated to replace the caption texts in video images.
